The problem with rock band is that they make the songs harder than they really are, it's easier in an acoustic set than a rock and drum set. Plus you can get those crazy fills in with rolls better in a real set
@@rodrigobleao 2:14 here is one example where I feel it is easier on a real drumset. After each 2 hits with the hands there is only one with the foot. Imo it is much easier with a 2x bass pedal because it flows nicely. I can do Rhand-Lhand-Rfoot-Lfoot at this speed for a long time and it just flows so nicely. Only having 1 foot just feels wrong. Also, on a real drumset, the snare is usually more below the high tom and sometimes even between the high and mid tom. This makes patterns that don't require any crossovers on a real set but do on the plastic one. I'll keep an eye out for one as I keep watching. 2:37 - Another example of these same type of fills that are easier (Imo) with 2x bass
Jesus christ. Everytime you finish a section i just shake my head in utter awe at your fucking amazing skill. The way Rockband charts outs these drums makes me so angry yet you’re slaying the hardest things with what looks like ease. You make me wanna continue playing this game so thank you for that. rock on brotha
Thanks for making my day at 8:30 (The Coma Machine 2) with that drum stick drop. I couldn't resist laughing at that. I didn't know that cymbal is that sentitive though.
I found your channel last night because I just ordered RB4 off of amazon.com while it is half price and was just wanting to see some good RUclips user content. I played a decent amount on RB2 back in the day, but not nearly at your level. So excited to get back into it. I just wanted to point out after watching a ton of your previous videos how much you have improved! Your progress just over the last year has been astounding, so great job! I definitely prefer the ones with the RB drum set since it kinda puts you on the same level as the average player. To me, it is more impressive when done on that than your professional set in a lot of your more recent videos, if that makes any sense. I also really dig your entire set up on screen. The angle of your camera is perfect and the actual game bar on the screen to the left is great placement as well. You've definitely earned a sub and a ton of likes from this guy. Only thing I can suggest/request is maybe some tutorial videos!
Oh, most definitely! Blake's drumming is really wonderful, and I can't complain about anything that heavily features the work of one of my favorite bands.
holy crap rock band has heir apparent on there, would not expect for them to be one of the heavy metal bands on the game someone in their studio likes metal and forced that one in thats awesome
Nice man, I've never hit that fill in Nevermore before, cam machine remains my favourite RB4 dlc. A few I would have included are the fill in the second verse in happy song, a few fills/beats in rude, the fill in seventeen just before the guitar solo and a fill that was near the end of figure it out, but overall a really legit list 👍
Mystakin nice man, really enjoy this type of video, look forward to deleted scenes. Those are just a few personal favourites, everyone's list would slightly differ, like I wouldn't have included the Jane addiction one as I sight read FC'd the song.
I consider just competing The Coma Machine on Expert Pro drums an achievement. i can get about 50,000 points away from 5 starring the song. I really hate the kick pedal patterns during the song and the constant cymbal notes mixed in with the pad notes. Great song nonetheless and i look forward to 2017s DLC season. hopefully Harmonix will include more metal songs because i was rather disappointed with the amount of pop/ electronic garbage released in 2016. I would love to see a few more Red Chord songs and i would also love some Despised Icon songs so i can learn to get good at drums. I've only been playing rock band drums since May of 2016 and I'd say I'm OK. nowhere near as good as you though i managed to 5 star Stone Free and Frankenstein which i am immensely proud of. Long story short, You're amazing at Rock Band drums, I'm a Scrub and I'm jealous of all the songs you have that i can't get like Aqualung or any of the old rock band songs.
Fun fact playing on the expert + drum set is easier than normal expert drums in rb, as the only difference is is symbols and the notes those symbols correlate to
He used the RB2 kit in previous videos because there wasn't an adapter for his ekit yet, but I'm not sure why he used it in this. My guess is that he got started on this video before the adapter was available, and didn't want to trash the footage.
I wouldn't necessarily say it makes it "easier". It's not like upgrading from a stock RB kit to an e-kit will magically make you a better player. I suppose it could be considered easier in the sense that an e-kit will allow more flexibility in how the pads/cymbals are arranged than what a stock RB kit can allow for. The real reason people prefer e-kits are because they're more reliable - they'll hold up better over time and have fewer issues with sensitivity, overhits, underhits, etc.
Rock band Drummer yo I was thinking about getting that song but then I realized it had the triplet against eights that rock band does which I can't ever nail down pat
Nice video! I bought a RB1 drum set on ebay a month ago. Its quite decent, too bad these aren't made anymore :( I wish I could get a set with the cymbals for good price and not the overpriced stuff you see on some places.
Nice video!, did you learn to play on a regular drums or these rock band drums? Also what you recommend for someone wanting to play that game. Used RB2 Drums, RB3 Drums or Pro Drums from Ion? Got this for the PS4 and was looking for a drum set to use there or maybe go custom from one on Amazon. Thanks!
Nice man, you definitely got it figured out haha I'd say a great job on this video man! I play tenors at my high school and I'm about to apply for the Bluecoats drum and bugle Corp. Anyways great job and a happy new year man.
SteelersRock-43 it's all about how the set up is. example. 3 Tom's and a kick in a fast succession. easy on drums because of how your drums are arranged. on rockband, the pads are basically horizontal, so complex patterns become a nightmare
It's also probably cause due to RB's (From RB3 experience, haven't got 4 yet) engine you have to hit stuff without over kicking, under kicking, or missing the notes in between, this is usually fine for songs that only use one pedal, but things like 3:53 are most likely easier on a real kit.
Also too, you're playing the song exactly how the drummer recorded it. On a drum set, you develop your own style of playing and can modifications to the songs you play to fit that style. But in Rock Band, you have to play in the style of that drummer to the note, and not everyone can adjust.
So when rock band rivals came out i got out my RB4 kit on xbox one and played a bit but i noticed i could just about never play any double bass with a single pedal. I had to basically play everything with 2 pedals if i wanted to keep a combo going. This was happening with both the pedals i owned. Have you ever experienced this problem? Could it be a problem with the RB4 kit or am I just suddenly bad with one pedal? I was able to play mostly everything fine on RB2 and RB3 but not on RB4
does the rock band 1 drum kit work with rock band 4 i have the adapter for the xbox360 controllers and my drum kit is wired and how can i connect the drum set to the xbox one
I've never played rb4 but is there a double pedal for the bass I'm confused on how you hit those when they are so close is it a drummer thing I don't know or double pedal?
Hey what kick pedal do you use because I got rock band for Christmas and for some reason can't step on it that fast and do u think the pedal should be closer or father away
Onyx_the_gamer 18 Yeah the pedal for rock band 4 is pretty much 10 times worst than previous ones because the height at which it has to return to in order to register another hit has been raised and makes it nearly impossible to hit those faster notes for the pedal. I fixed it by placing bottlecaps under the rubber points between the pedal and the black part that holds the pedal in place. It makes it to where you dont have to go all the way down and can easily hit fast pedal notes like in older rock band games. Hope this helped. I had to figure this out on my own.
Sir I own the rb4 complete band kit by pdp with madcatz symbols currently on playing on PS4...I noticed that your symbols are lose on the stand..does it make a difference for hit detection..on that note I find that when I play..either my calibration is wrong..and there are times that I know I hit the not and am hitting the note and won't register on game..and at times I play at night and sometimes during the day and have same issues..I've set my samsung smart tv to game mode as well..and still have issues with hit detections..what do you recommend for a manual calibration or any recommendation at all?
Do you think they will ever drop any Metallica songs for rivals or just rockband 4 in general? I've noticed a lot of players that have played Metallica on other rock band games..just curious..
Man, Between the Buried and Me's drummer's style has to be my favorite in the entire metal scene of today. Such a killer band
It was well worth it for me to buy the drum sheet music for Coma Machine. Huge learning experience.
not sure how you read that crazy stuff without breakneck speed, cheers for the great vid :D
Real Savage Jef I keep mine at 1.25 speed because I can't keep track of what's going on if it's on normal speed.
I can't handle breakneck speed at all. I mean, it looks awesome when someone else is able to FC a song with BNS on, but it's not for me
deviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin
Joey Rizzo lots of practice eventually you just remember it
I remember when I used to play rockband, I broke my pedal clean in half playing visions. Rb2 i think.
Same here. I went through I believe 2 or 3 pedals while playing Painkiller and Brain Stew/Jaded
Same here. I went through I believe 2 or 3 pedals while playing Painkiller and Brain Stew/Jaded
Ewan Plummer Oh god, painkiller and Panic Attack! Those were brutal too.
Jaded and brain stew were ez for me...idk
That song is easy. Its just a lot of fast bass pedal.
The problem with rock band is that they make the songs harder than they really are, it's easier in an acoustic set than a rock and drum set. Plus you can get those crazy fills in with rolls better in a real set
I play drums in a band but not in Rock Band and I can see these are super overcharted
The fact that this game is intended to play on single pedal makes it more difficult in some double pedal pattern
can you tell me an example in this video?
Not sure if you are right about Devil in I buddy. That shit is not easier
@@rodrigobleao 2:14 here is one example where I feel it is easier on a real drumset. After each 2 hits with the hands there is only one with the foot. this was badass man. happy new years to you to dude!
love that ending and how you did it in slow motion too!
I found your channel last night because I just ordered RB4 off of amazon.com while it is half price and was just wanting to see some good RUclips user content. Joshua Furr I also bought Rock Band 4 off Amazon at half price the same time you did haha. the drums SUCK though
I like that the ending was just a bunch of excerpts from one BTBAM song.
Oh, most definitely! Blake's drumming is really wonderful, and I can't complain about anything that heavily features the work of one of my favorite bands.
wow that slipknot song looked so good, i thought you missed a note when it said 98% but there was another couple of notes coming lol
Pretty impressive seeing the stock kit utilized so well

Coma machine is a monster of a song on drums, but I love it!
It's nice to start 2017 with a 10-minute Mystakin video.
love the nylon tip sticks on the electric kit
This video makes me want a stock kit again.
6:55 - Oh wow my favorite band is in RB? I might have to look at getting it.
I been playing drums since rb1 and man this is the best I've ever seen amazing work!
holy crap rock band has heir apparent on there, would not expect for them to be one of the heavy metal bands on the game someone in their studio likes metal and forced that one in thats awesome
I'm sure I could actually do some of these if the rock band 4 stock kick wouldn't drop notes for no reason
steven ervin don’t know what’s wrong with your kit, mine works perfectly. That was until I destroyed it
Man i thought my set was definitely dropping notes. I just got it too

This is so satisfying to watch
Wow man. Respect!!!!! I only crapped out at hard difficulty in most of these songs. :))
Nice job on Dystopia!
i love these videos. keep on keepin on mah dude
please try brutal on any song of your choosing that would be fun to watch ^^
This dude's heel-toe technique on a video game is better than mine on an actual kit. The fuck.

Despised Icon has 1 song on rb3 but its RBN song so its not on for rb4
I thought they had 3 songs on the RBN. Les Temps Changent, MVP and Day of Mourning.
Nailed the solo.....
these are my favorite videos of yours
My brother that was INSANE!!!!
Fun fact playing on the expert + drum set is easier than normal expert drums in rb, as the only difference is is symbols and the notes those symbols correlate to
Out of curiosity, why did you choose to use the RB2 kit for this video?

Does an real e-drum kit makes it easier to hit the notes. Or is that just a mind set of people?

Rock band Drummer
"The Coma Machine" is harder And more technical than "This is exile". :0
that hot for teacher opening ^_^
those blast beats tho
very nice video, great skills!
I can't play anymore the inside of my right arm hurts right around the middle of my forearm every time I try to.
Nice video! I bought a RB1 drum set on ebay a month ago. Its quite decent, too bad these aren't made anymore :( I wish I could get a set with the cymbals for good price and not the overpriced stuff you see on some places.
You really needed Duality. I can't fricken do the Chorus in that song.
The Pompeii one was actually the best one
Nice video!, did you learn to play on a regular drums or these rock band drums? Also what you recommend for someone wanting to play that game. Used RB2 Drums, RB3 Drums or Pro Drums from Ion? Got this for the PS4 and was looking for a drum set to use there or maybe go custom from one on Amazon. Thanks!
Can you please do a bass pedal tutorial on the rb4 drumset? I really struggle with the triplets.
hey man, do you play any matching percussion instruments, like snare or tenors? cause you have some awesome chops, just asking.
Nice man, you definitely got it figured out haha I'd say a great job on this video man! I play tenors at my high school and I'm about to apply for the Bluecoats drum and bugle Corp. Anyways great job and a happy new year man.
Joey m aye I look play tenors aswell, did you make it?
You're a legend
still can't do dystopia :(
Warrior is from Disturbed. Not Bridge. Just a friendly note
haha whatever you say. dont see why you need to be rude about it. i didnt know. he corrected me. leave it there. thanks :)
Hello! nice playing there! Just out of curiosity do you know if the pedal works with rock band 4 kit? I'm thinking about getting it :)
Okay thanks. I was just thinking about getting new pedal. I really don't like the original RB4 pedal. Can you suggest anything? :)
5:00 pure awesome
Wow amazing.....
I just need to know, did you intend to put the two Chris Adler songs next to each other? Or did that just happen?
I can only do medium dude u inspired me to go up
where do u get your extra rb drum heads from just curious its getting harder to find them great vid as well cheers :)
damn that was good
i can play drums pretty well actually, as i have been playing for 8 years. Rock band for some reason is so much harder than real drums.
SteelersRock-43 it's all about how the set up is. example. 3 Tom's and a kick in a fast succession. easy on drums because of how your drums are arranged. on rockband, the pads are basically horizontal, so complex patterns become a nightmare
Joshua Martin haha i guess thats true, although i have been getting better at rock band.

Where is through the fire and flames
Mystakin thanks for letting me know.... and holy shit you actually responded to me
how to slam a stick on a drum?
= how to make music
THIS IS A
INVITATION
Now difficult patterns are hard to get down, but awkward patterns will make you wanna blow your fucking brains
What do you think the hardest DLC song overall for drums was in 2016? Guitar it is either Seventeen or Dystopia
***** Is hour of rats a rivals exclusive? Cuz i been lookin and its not in the store
so 2016 was the year of BTBAM 😂
Yassss hot for teacher
how you that fast double bass drum?, that's a custom pedal? it's so hard to me maintain a consistency with the pedal, any tip?
with "devil in i" they mean, black metal and me are bff
Holy shit the devil in i
Where did he get that drumset its sick af
Wes out a box that says rockband 3
Holy shit dude.
why is the symbols cap thing red if the icon in game is yellow symbol.
How is his kick pedal so in sync
So when rock band rivals came out i got out my RB4 kit on xbox one and played a bit but i noticed i could just about never play any double bass with a single pedal. I had to basically play everything with 2 pedals if i wanted to keep a combo going. This was happening with both the pedals i owned. Have you ever experienced this problem? Could it be a problem with the RB4 kit or am I just suddenly bad with one pedal? I was able to play mostly everything fine on RB2 and RB3 but not on RB4
What kind of kick pedal is that? It looks so familiar, I swear I had something like it back in the day.
does the rock band 1 drum kit work with rock band 4 i have the adapter for the xbox360 controllers and my drum kit is wired and how can i connect the drum set to the xbox one
Ok or I just wait for the rock band 4 band In a box bundle
Why does it say 8 years ago
How does your foot pedal not snap in two??? Ive gone through so many foot pedals. Ive had to re enforce mine with wood
I've never played rb4 but is there a double pedal for the bass I'm confused on how you hit those when they are so close is it a drummer thing I don't know or double pedal?
cool
What do you do to hit those double kick pedal notes? They're to close together to hit them without some sort of technique.
So the only way you can get those rivals songs is by pre ordering Rivals? It's impossible to get them now?
Mystakin ah, thanks for the heads up! the information on the store doesn't say anything about extra songs you get so it was confusing.
Cool ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
do you use nylon tipped drumsticks?
Beasttttttt
why can't they rb4 drum kit hit fast notes ?
Connection on the xboxone and playstation4 is shitty
Hey what kick pedal do you use because I got rock band for Christmas and for some reason can't step on it that fast and do u think the pedal should be closer or father away
Mystakin ok thanks yeah I'm not that great at drums but better at guitar but I'm in band in school lol
Onyx_the_gamer 18 did you get rock band 4?
Eclipse Editor yes rock band 4, for Xbox 1
Onyx_the_gamer 18 Yeah the pedal for rock band 4 is pretty much 10 times worst than previous ones because the height at which it has to return to in order to register another hit has been raised and makes it nearly impossible to hit those faster notes for the pedal. I fixed it by placing bottlecaps under the rubber points between the pedal and the black part that holds the pedal in place. It makes it to where you dont have to go all the way down and can easily hit fast pedal notes like in older rock band games. Hope this helped. I had to figure this out on my own.
Eclipse Editor ok thanks so much I'll try it out and tell you
What pedal are you using?
Are these 360 drums connected to Xbox one?
Not available...
7:57 how come there are double kicks, but you only kick once, maybe it's a trick to the eye?
He's probably using the heel toe technique, where he pushes his heel on the pedal and then his toe down on the pedal to get 2 hits in one motion
Mystakin...would you be able to recommend a calibration number for the drums?
Mystakin ...the auto calibration for the jaguar guitar numbers will work for the drum set as well? Is this what your saying?
Do you think they will ever drop any Metallica songs for rivals or just rockband 4 in general? I've noticed a lot of players that have played Metallica on other rock band games..just curious..
Mystakin .....was wondering..for those that aren't as mentally capable of drumming..if you'd do or show a few basic drumming techniques..? 😊
Finess
What makes the first one hard? It looks relatively easy IMO.
What would you say the hardest pattern was?
I think that the only reason the drum patterns are hard is because most of them dont really have a pattern
nothing from king for a day?
Mystakin that's would be sick!
When I hit one pad to fast it doesn't register sometimes, any advice?
RevDrums If you have the RB4 drum kit, there's just something wrong with the kit in general. MadCatz has not fixed the issue yet.
Am I the only one that can’t roll on my cymbals because they don’t register all the hits?
And I mean rolls in like Critical Acclaim
Noice
why do you have a red cymbal?
It looks cool. (It's supposed to be for people who play lefty)
what platfrom is rb4 on
