I believe that Mark Lowry also played a huge part in leading JD to the Lord.
Ken also played a small part as well of course.
You don’t have to do huge things even if it is something small like talking to someone or witnessing, God will see that seeds have been planted.
At least in his last few years he could sing those gospel songs with true conviction.
So glad he made peace with the Lord.

This story popped up on my page, and has me about in tears. I met JD long, long ago when I was a teenager, and watched him sing lower than the piano. I am glad that he was saved and I will see him in Heaven. World's lowest bass singer, with such power that he broke the diaphragms of his mics.

Thanks for sharing Ken. I am now 80 years old. Most of my friends have gone on to be with the Lord. When you get down to the end of the way there is only one question on your mind. Are you lost or saved? It's amazing how many friends we have who are lost. Now, when I visit my friends in the hospital or hospice I always ask "How are things between you and the Lord?". If they don't know for sure, I ask another question. Who is the most famous person you have ever met? They may name a politician or a performer. I then ask where they were and what were the circumstances? They usually give great detail. I then ask them "If you were to meet the Lord Jesus, the Son of God, The King of Kings, don't you think you would remember it?". The response is usually "Are you saying I am not saved?" I say no, I'm just asking a question. It's then easy to lead them to the Lord. It's never too late. If you aren't sure yourself, make sure. If you don't know how, find someone who does. We are going to be held accountable for missed opportunities. That's the biggest guilt you will ever experience. Being a part of the Harvest is also one of the greatest blessings you will ever receive. Ask Ken. He knows.

I've heard preachers talk about this very subject: Just because you go to church & sing in a choir, doesn't automatically mean your saved. Just like: living in a garage doesn't make you a car. I'm so glad that out of God's mercy and His willingness that no should perish, but come to repentance; that He spoke to JD Sumner, that he was moved in such a way and eventually became saved. Praise The Lord for his loving mercy, His loving kindness and compassion!

Most of the songs that JD wrote have very deep spiritual meanings, it would be kind of silly if he was a non-believer writing these songs.
