- What does it take to paint a plane? It took our team of 10 painters a total of 1800 hours over twelve days to bring our new brand refresh to life on our 737-800. We first introduced this new design on January 25, 2016 and will be updating our entire fleet to this design over the next few years.
Honestly miss the old livery. It was timeless
The same to me as well I missed it too, and I wish they had a one world of it, but they never had one😢😢

alaskas old livery was very bland, besides the cool eskimo on the tail, but now they have a creative livery, with cool colors! great job on the new design alaska!

Not just the color rebranding that is eco and moderen and even the font is change to make it look more perfect for a great airline and they still keep the Eskimo on the tail. Still an awesome job well done :D

Looks sharp, was a huge fan of the basic white livery. At least Chester lives on!!

Also, that little bit of green adds sooooooooooooo much to the whole thing! You have to keep that from now on.

When I was about 7 years old I got to fly on the airline. I was so excited. Not because I was going on a plane. But I thought I was going to meet the Eskimo from the tail of the plane. I am now 40 years old. I am still pissed off he wasn’t my pilot that day.
I never believed In Santa but I believed in the Eskimo. Lol

I liked the old livery that I always flown on. Of course, there's always time for a change.
so I flew on a plane with this livery and it was three days old. and I got to go in the cockpit. :)

I honestly believe that this livery represents Alaska as a whole but believe that a small sum of the fleet should be painted as the old livery for historical significance. ( also because the rugged feel of the old one had a vibe that central alaska gives off) However, long live CHESTER

When one of my Grandaughters was little her sister told her the ESKIMO on the tail was her Grandfather. (For many years she thought that was true.) At that time he was Chief Pilot for Alaska Airlines.

I'm here to comment on the fact that Alaska airlines has videos that cannot be commented on. The safety dance video being one. I really liked the video but am very disappointed with not being able to comment directly on it. My guess is because there been many negative comments or at least they were anticipated. But there would still be people like myself with something nice to say. But with the comments section being disabled, I will not click "like" either. Take care.

Almost every 737-800 have split scimitars. All max’s have split scimitars. And plus the Max wasn’t even made back then.
Airplane Man 7 9 well the 737 ng series all have the point on the end of the winglet but the 737max has a flat topped scimitar

Better livery than the old one. Only seen on 737-800, 737-900ER, and E175. It will be seen on 737 Max 8/9 as well. I've only flown on the planes with the old livery and I want to fly on the ones with the new livery some day. I wonder what the Horizon Air livery on the E175 will look like.
this plane the 737-800 is not max. their is just the winglet that I cant remember what its called

the horizon air is all bombardier q400's, not e175's. skywest operates the e175's, and the livery is a mix between the old and the new
Horizon actually did order the E175 as well so Skywest and Horizon will both be operating them.

I'm a little late to the party, but I just wanted to mention that the lei was more of an advertisement for Hawaii service when it was new, back in 2007. Besides, I kind of prefer the uniformity of the fleet now, anyway.
