Young newlywed here! I love hearing stories about you and your husband when you first got married! I wonder if you could do a video or series of recipe ideas or tips you wish you knew when you were busy newlyweds cooking for 2?
Thank you for inspiring me to keep going when times get difficult. You keep helping people, no matter how busy you are and it makes me want to make the world a better place too. Thank you so much for being in my life.
@MrsAlmaTrumble I completely agree with you. As you know I have some health issue so healthy eating can be a struggle. Mindy has helped me quite a bit. I even share with neighbors. By the way I am also glad you are on here. You seem like a kind and sweet person who listens so thank you.
@TracyShead-Stamey yes, same here. We share our extras with my mom. She's a widow and dealing with some health issues. I'm so glad I'm on here, too. I've found some great RUclipsr's and "friends" through the different channels.
These are such great ideas Mindy ! Thank you for sharing them ! I get sick of plain ham and cheese or turkey and cheese sandwiches! The knock off Arby’s sandwiches looked amazing ! I will definitely make those, plus the Chalupa shells are a must add to my next shopping list ! I love chalupas too !!!
Oh no I am so sorry. My husband is 60 years old. He has vascular dementia. He qualified for Meals On Wheels. This is charity that has volunteers who bring. Two meals per day to disabled and low income seniors. He is not using the program. Because my health is fine and we have enough to eat. Since you just had stroke yourself. It probably is not real easy to make calls yourself. The only I can suggest is contacting your doctor and your husband’s doctor office. They would be able to assist you with information. To get the help that you and your husband need. In my husband’s case that is how. He was referred to the program. I really hope you both get the support you need. Sending hugs and prayers from Illinois.
My son got Babe Ruth too when he was in 5th grade!! So much fun since the Babe broke Roger Connors home run record. Roger was his great great great uncle!!! He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
My husband bought a rotisserie chicken from Costco. He only likes white meat so I had two whole leg pieces left. I chopped up the meat and put it in a pan with a little water and some BBQ sauce and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. It was so good.
Our Arby's (Grand Rapids, MI) runs a monthly "2 for $6" special. This month is Arby's roast beef (no cheese) and the "Swiss, Bacon, Chicken" sandwich. That's *$3 per sandwich* !!! I can add either chips or french fries (from Aldi of course) at home as well as the drinks! Oh and, you can "mix & match" the sandwiches too!
I love air fryer meals. I save time & my energy as well as money on my electric bill not heating up the stove as much for quick lunches & dinners. Just a thought I would love a full video with air fryer meals.
I like to take shaved or thinly sliced ham put in on onion rolls with slices of Swiss cheese and warm it up for a quicker and cheaper than drive thru meal for my family. They all love it and in the summer we eat a lot of them because they fill us up but don’t heat up my house.
I really need these recipes. School will end in July here, but May is still crazy, with 4 (!) holidays, of which school turns 3 into long weekends for the kids plus a day off because graduation exams take place for the older kids. Throw in father's day, mother's day, soccer tournaments and parents conference days - on top of the normal family schedule. It is absolute madness.
Love this video and topic, sometimes, and I am even guilty of this, we think every meal needs to be elaborate and it just doesn't! Solid, filling and tasty is always a win.
You're not kidding about Maycember - April was like that for us, too! We spent so much money on drive-thru meals in April - this video was the kick in the pants I needed to menu plan and be more intentional this month. Thank you!
Can I just say how much I am ENJOYING YOUR VIDEOS!! You have given me so much inspiration lately to not only budget better but also just be more creative with meal plans and meal choices. Thank you so much for what you do on here! I know I’m not only speaking for myself when I say it is helping many!! 🥰
The town I live in is very patriotic, and Armed Forces Day is the biggest day of the year for us in the middle of May. I don't have kids, but preparing the floats and stuff for the parades definitely makes me feel that crunch. Those ready pastas, while more expensive, are a lifesaver for me honestly
I have always loved your channel but recently I appreciate it even more. I am a stay at home wife while my husband works. recently he decided to go back to school for ministry! so I had to drastically cut budget even from what I had. I am sitting here taking notes on your videos! I also really appreciate you post all this on youtube. I keep joking if tiktok goes down I won't know how to cook anymore but it's not as much a joke as I wish. your videos are so so appreciated in this house hold. not only the cooking content but the family and life values you hold too! thank you for doing what you do
Always such great advice and ideas!!! Wish I could download your mom knowledge to my brain, but it’s fun to watch the videos too so I’ll keep doing that 😂 Shout out Taco Bell, and who hasn’t gone there more than we want to admit… so cool that we can make chalupas at home now! The Taco Bell and Arby’s copycats are such great ideas, and I love seeing the affordable prices at places I don’t normally shop - gotta check out Aldi sometime soon! Thanks 😊😊😊
"Maycember", i felt that! Fellow mom of a fourth grader and I have a seventh grader as well. This month we have state testing, the annual art and talent show, field trips, and now early dismissal days. I need all the meal planning help I can get!😂 Thanks for sharing!❤
Hubby found the taco bell pizza copycat on Facebook a bit ago and oh my words...who needs taco bell lol. I'll be looking for the chalupa thing umm yes 😂
Wow I never get lucky enough to see one of your videos when you first post them! Love your channel and tips you’ve helped myself and my family a lot! ❤
OMG! My son was Babe Ruth in his living history museum. It was a long time ago now as he's turning 27 this month and will be a first time daddy next month. My son was a baseball nut so he loved doing this. I hope your son enjoyed it as well. Love watching your videos, even though my kids are all grown up.
What an amazing idea to use dips as sauce! I love that idea! We did the DIY chalupas a week ago, so good and affordable. Thanks for your amazing videos.
Yes! End of school, track meets, ballet and tumbling recitals, baseball games, VBS, our daughter is moving AND having baby #4, Mother’s Day! It’s just insane.
Loved all these ideas! Very easy and few steps-increases the likelihood I’ll actually try them instead of saying “wow what a great idea!” and then moving on! 😵💫😂
I get it, I’m the same way! If I didn’t have a channel where I need to come up with new ideas all the time, this is probably the way we’d eat about half the time 😂
I am with you for the Maycember vibes… with spring athletes it’s always been hectic but add our graduating high school senior and it’s been an emotional hot mess this year… so appreciate these ideas for this busy season
I get it, we have a birthday the day before Mother’s Day, our Anniversary just before my birthday and then up to my Mum’s birthday the day before Father’s Day. My family made a special trip to Aldi for meal planning. Thanks again for all the ideas.
You are a genius in the kitchen. It’s my husband and me at home and even though we don’t have a busy schedule, I don’t like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen once the weather gets warmer. These meal ideas are wonderful and practical. Thank you!
Omg how awesome :) babe Ruth. Guess what my grandfather actually met him and my father has a glass plate of that picture and signed by him but is passing that down to our boys. It’s the most coolest thing ever and I was able to show my children by taking them to the museum here in Florida where it all happened back with Jackie Robinson 🤗🤗 Ps.. mmm that was my go to at Taco Bell in the younger years or now if I ever go which ain’t much lol. But I’m so going to buy those and try at home to 🤗🤗 thanks Mindy
Great ideas! We were looking at our Wedding pictures because we just celebrated 36 years and I said to my husband who are the young people?? Lol We are having leftover tacos tonight just the 2 of us of course lol
We love Arby's as well. We rarely eat out but we do when Arby's has their 4/$10 roast beef sandwiches. I make a couple of sides and that's a quick easy dinner. Pro tip, ask for lots and lots of Arby-Q sauce when you are there so you have some at home. It's good on everything! Great tips in this video. Thanks
All of your videos are helpful, but this one is a life saver! Thank you for this video of wonderful USEABLE ideas! May is crazy as a teacher wrapping up my class and all of my children's years, all 5 kids in ball (2 on 2 teams), my hubby coaching 2 of the teams, and driver's ed for my #2! I was so overwhelmed tonight I succumbed to the drive thru.🥴 Here you are with great ideas that I can utilize over the next few weeks! Smiles, Abby Smith
As a Kiwi, in Nz the school year end season is the same month as the end of the calendar year build up to Christmas season 😂 it’s so extremely hectic cos it all happens at once! We have just started winter sports here and are out 4 nights a week for the next school Term also all these tips are so good.
Mindy, you are so cool and such an inspiration. I have always been someone who cooks but watching you. It always inspires me again to make new things and how to use the ingredients. I already have definitely one of my favorite channels here I recommend you to everyone.🎉❤🎉❤
Hi Mindy, Great video/ideas, Thank You. Stay sane in your “Maycember”, realize it can be quite busy. Hope things well with you and all of yours. Take Care❤
Great ideas! I buy the mini shell noodles from great value brand at Walmart because they cook so quick. One thing I do is buy a large can of the homestyle Chicken noodle soup, Add canned chicken, And either the microwavable rice in a pouch or cook up those mini shell pasta. Obviously it's not as cheap or delicious as homemade but it works in a pinch when you're having a craving and you're in a hurry.
I agree that those pouches of microwaveable rice are a great starter for fast meals. I use mine to make frittatas. Add a few beaten eggs and whatever flavourings you enjoy: chopped semi-dried tomatoes and ham; diced chorizo and peppers, grated zucchini and cheese, spicy sardines and lemon zest; leftover chicken and bacon. For fast cooking I start my frittata in a skillet on top of the stove, then whip it under the griller/broiler to finish the top. Dinner in 5 minutes!

Your energy and enthusiasm at 1:50 make cooking quick meals so exciting! Love it!
Terrific meal ideas… the nice thing with a lot of these is your really not heating up your kitchen too❤
Correct. Which is a huge factor for me coming into the warmer months.

Chalupas, croissants, teriyaki chicken nuggets, great ideas & so quick and easy! Wish I could do a taste test while watching your channel 😁😋🤣
Loving your shortcuts using dip; I will have to try the one with the pasta. Yum! Thanks for continuing to share these with us, Mindy.
You are so welcome! Glad I can give some ideas. I love the dips as sauces shortcut. I do it all the time!

I use French onion dip for a pasta sauce. So good.
Pesto is good too.
Hello, Mindy! Thanks for the Excellent tip about using a shallow pan for cooking pasta. I'm going to try it tonight 😊

Great ideas Mindy. My kids are grown up and out of the house but some nights I don’t feel like cooking. This video gave me some inspiration.

Looks yummy indeed. I have anduille sausage and green beans so will have over riced cauliflower since were low carb Thanks!
Hey Mindy have you tried the new summer time flavors of chips at Aldi?? I am currently somewhat addicted to the Clancys spicy dill pickle chips 😂😂😂😂
I haven’t yet, but I picked up one of the new kettle chip flavors for a video I just filmed!
That sounds yummy! I got ones that tasted like cuban sandwich last year. They were so yummy we ate them in one meal!
I would LOVE one of these videos that's dairy and gluten-free.
oh my goodness, my son is in 4th and is also Babe Ruth for his school event as well!

yep do the same thing, make my own Arby's...have the sauces and then put in the air fryer some hash brown patties...way cheaper
