I haven't listened to Talib in probably ten years or more. I still respect his classic material as well as him as an artist/emcee, but the dude really gets on my nerves.

Nobody has innovated style more than you have in my professional opinion as ive listened to everyone everywhere for over 25 years and you are one of who stood out the most and was ahead of everybody else it seemed. Your classics epitomizes exactly what westcoast underground hiphop should sound like the most give or take a few other artists who pioneered that same sound but nobody had that same flow or could style like you by far. Ive heard everyone and every style there is to hear and you are one of the all time style kings by far that has always incorporated the 4 elements of hiphop into your songs and classics in my opinion are better than most rappers whole career. Thanks for everything youve done.

I used to like talib back in the Rawkus era and a few bits after but for the most part he is not what I would listen to now! Freestyle fellowship & project blowed I will rock to the end of my days !!! & there influence on hip hop culture world wild is unparalleled!!!! There written rhymes’ there freestyle’ there beats & dj’s are all above ! Respect from northern England!!!!
I dunno about all the SJW-ish but one of the best sets I’ve seen live was Black Star, Mos and Talib worked with each other and the crowd perfectly...and after the set, they came back and did like a 5 track encore.
Saw them in DC back in 2018, the day after I saw Cypress Hill at the cannabis festival. Best live show I've seen myself.

Many people don't know but, back in the late 80's, early 90's, Trump gave Hip Hop artists a platform to perform in his casino. They would perform in the lounges., nice size crowds, no fights. Ask Rev Run.

I was hoping you would cover this topic. It seems for the most part the hip hop community isn't on the side of Talib. I respect Talib as an artist I mean dude is talented and has released classic material but dude especially for the last 5yrs or so has really been on the sjw bandwagon. It's getting annoying. He mostly acts off emotion and it's getting old. But anyways keep up the good work.
Huge fan of 96-02 Kweli (up until 07 really but especially those prime Rawkus years), but Diabolic (big fan since 2001) washed him and the way he acts on social media is embarrassing and immature AF. I must admit his record with Diamond D was way better then that Diabolic diss trash. It was actually closer to prime Kweli skills wise, but still he’s so goofy and horrid look. Myka 9 literally a legend who has connections to almost every ill MC since mid 80s.
When did R.A diss Kweli on wax?!?! I feel like R.A has been neutral and Kweli supporter for most part. Would love to hear diss if I somehow missed it.

So, Talib was arguing with a commenter (as usual) and the commenter said "that's why u got punked by rifleman... I was there"... In the early 2000's, there was an event out here in LA and rifleman was passing out fliers in the crowd. He handed one to this girl and she got disrespectful, started talking shit to rifleman and a heated argument ensued. Talib happened to see it and came over trying intervene on the girl's behalf without knowing what happened and now he was getting into it with rifleman and the commenter said that rifleman was ready to throw down and Talib backed off... And of course Talib denied it happened and even claimed to not know who the rifleman was. So the commenter told the story and tagged rifleman and he replied " it did happen but it's cool.. We're good. " he also went on to ask not to be tagged /included in someone else's beefs. Talib goes on to attack him claiming that the shit never happened started talking shit... Rifleman kept trying to de-escalate the situation by telling him " we're good" and even tried to squash it in the dm's but Talib went on Twitter claiming rifleman was harassing him and threatening him and his family (in typical Talib fashion) so rifleman got fed up and started calling him out.. Talib called him a failed rapper and asked mykah 9 to get his man, to which mikah replied "I can't tell a grown man what to do..." and Talib got heated and started whining about mikah not being his friend anymore and eventually started dissing him too

People use to tell me he was racist back in the mid 90s. But he was always one of my favs on the scene. The success and acclaim of him and El- P, especially among other artists, is well deserved. The reason I stopped listening to him as much in his later career is just because of the soft RnB. Beats which I can't stand. Lyrically he is still fire though. I don't pay attention to the fake beefs and don't mind political or conscious lyrics. I still love that track black gold he did on the last hi tec album. And he still has joints. But on the whole his production is usually too candy for me nowadays to even go checking for . I'm an underground guy who usually can care less about the beat,. But RnB rap songs have always turned me off. Good for the ladies I guess lol

Talib Kweli just released a new Black Star album. He has two podcasts: one where he interviews music and film superstars, and the other where he, Yasiin Bey, and Dave Chappelle (arguably the greatest comedian of all time) have icons appear as guests to chop it up with them. He's written a book. He has countless solo and collaborative albums under his belt, many of which are Hiphop classics. So, who's Diabolic? He's a MAGA battle rapper. White supremacy is making it's way into Hiphop and a lot of y'all don't seem to mind. It needs to be addressed before it gets too big. Kweli calls it out and he expects other Hiphop artists to be on code with this shit. And he should. As far as solo albums go, you can pick and choose songs. Not one solo album of his is actually worth buying. Blackstarr is his best album but it's because of Mos and hi teks production. He hasn't made a solo album that you can bump from beginning to end and think " damn. That was amazing".

There's a lot of people that feel this way about that album, and those people are not difficult to find. If any of what you said were true, he would not have been able to reach the heights of success that he has.

That is an album where I can pick songs here and there that I like. Let's keep it real. Blackstarr is the only thing worth mentioning that he's been a part of and it's mostly because of mos def. The numbers don't lie.
