Thanks for the reaction. There are close to 300 videos to choose from. All are excellent. U may like 90s Medley, Daft Punk, Amazing Grace, The Prayer, Kissed From A Rose or Bohemian Rhapsody. All genres
This was recorded in February 2012, just a couple of months after their win on The Sing-Off. They'd all moved to LA to take up the recording contract that was part of the prize - and the record company dropped them. So here they are in parking garage, recording on an iPad for a video that they will post to RUclips. Kevin Olusola (beatboxer) is the oldest at 23, Avi Kaplan (bass) is 22, Scott Hoying (blond baritone) is 20, and Mitch Grassi (tenor/countertenor) and Kirstin Maldonado (soprano/alto) are 19. Babies ... .
Since Pentatonix have won 3 Grammy awards, you could do reactions on all of those songs: Daft Punk (mashup of some of their hits), Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (an instrumental piece with no lyrics, performed by a vocal group with no instruments), and Jolene (collaboration with Dolly Parton).
This was an early favorite of mine, I must have watched it a thousand times, lol. Those giant beat drops - Mitch's fantastic lead moments (his particular voice really speaks to me) - Scott's little runs - Kirstin's belting moment - the unusual background sounds they all produced - the superb rhythm section of Kevin beatboxing and Avi doing the bass line - Avi's little solo moment, etc.! It just goes to show that they started out at the top of the game. Though there is certainly many ways in which they have all grown as individual artists and as a group over the past 13 or so years, they were really always top tier musical talents, and going back to these early videos is so fun! Loved the reaction!
Love your reactions! It's such fun seeing someone discover Pentatonix. You can't go wrong with anything from their extensive catalog but Kiss From A Rose, Mad World, Say Something, 90s Dance Medley, and When the Party's Over are some of my top recommendations. Also, Gold is live and one take, and Mitch is astonishing (listen to the first few bars of the autotuned original first, for contrast.)
I find that I often prefer a Pentatonix cover to the original. There is something within their voices that just make it interesting and sound pleasing to the ears. Honestly, I don't need to recommend anything to you guys because you could pretty much pick anything they've done and enjoy yourselves.
At this point this is what many Pentaholics refer to as Babytonix. They were great in 2012 but it’s truly amazing to see how far they’ve come.
Definitely keen watch more! Thanks for watching 🫶

3 Grammys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later…❤❤😊😊
Do Popspring performance 2016 - you get 4 songs for 1 and it’s live - no studio enhancements - just them - brilliant!
Thanks so much for your recommendation and for watching 🫶
Recommend their 90s Dance Medley.

This one is by Babytonix! So young! Fun reaction. I think a couple of songs by PTX that are very popular are Daft Punk and Can't Hold Us.
we call this. Baby-tonix.. they were so young!!! but you can see how talented they were even then- late teens/early 20s... :)
The bass singer in Pentatonix is Avi Kaplan...he's on a solo track now, with 2 EPs and an album. Absolutely fantastic music. You should check him out

It was incredibly popular in the US as well.
Great reaction! Bohemian Rhapsody, it's so good!
Thanks for watching! Nice suggestion! 🙂
Pentatonix don't only do covers/upgrades. There are originals too. Check out "Sing", "Coffee in Bed" for starters!
We will definitely check out a lot more 🫶
