  • Tipp forward Patrick 'Bonner' Maher will be trying to get the better of Dublin Cúl Báire Alan Nolan in this weekend's All-Ireland Hurling Quarter Final but first the pair talked to GAA.ie ahead of a season-defining game in Semple Stadium. This will be the 10th championship clash between the sides, with Tipperary having won seven to Dublin’s one while there was one draw from their previous nine meetings.
Their most recent tie was the 2011 All-Ireland semi-final which Tipperary won by 1-19 to 0-18, while Dublin’s only win over Tipperary was in the 1917 All-Ireland final.
The sides clashed in Thurles in the final round of group games in this year’s Allianz League, a game Tipperary won by 1-19 to 0-19 in late March. Dublin led by 0-10 to 0-9 at half-time and by four points early in the third quarter before a goal from Bonner Maher launched a Tipperary revival. It was level after 50 minutes but Tipperary out-scored Dublin by 0-7 to 0-4 from there on.
