Nice video Picky .. I bought the Earfun Free Pro 2 and because the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1+ were so cheap, I bought these too. There was no comparison, I sent the Earfuns back for a refund. Try and get some they're worth every penny. The midrange is superb, the bass is deep and punchy and the treble never gets harsh .. just excellent.
The Melomania did not please my ears - a lot came down to bad fit and isolation. ^^ My last pair were Lyperteks, which had some issues. Ultimately build quality. Now doing test runs again...
@Jonas Fringe same here for me, I really wanted to like the Melomanias but they hurt my ears so much! Just got Air pro 2s and the sound definitely isn't as good but they're comfortable.
The amount of work you put into this is wonderful..I now know what to get after being kinda overwhelmed by these Earfun products for a while. Thanks you.
Once I got into the original Free Pro EQ using the Airreps app, the sound is God Tier. Was able to dial back the harshness at 2-4k to reveal a clean sparkly treble. Still one of my best sounding buds.
Did the same with my set of EFFP2's. A custom tune after dialing in my resonant ear canal frequency using pink noise (~6100Hz). Refined to my personal taste using an Oluv Gadget's tune as baseline. My favorite buds, by far. I use them when I need TWS, ambient, and/or decent level of ANC. Excellent sound and for the money, an absolute steal. Else, I am using a set of KZ AZ09 Pro's earhooks (modded to B-Pin) paired to a set of Shouer S12 IEM's; the earhooks in Power Mode to feed these planar IEM's. My favorite wireless rig when I am purely focused on sound quality, detail, critical listening, etc. Frankly, my FiiO BTR5 and cable continue to collect dust after I started using this setup. About the only time I dust them off is when I want to try LDAC, else I am totally fine with the earhooks' AptX adaptive [via my FiiO BTA30Pro (in TX mode) with PC (FLAC) as source]. Note: Both the EFFP and the EFFP2 can be tuned using the "AirReps15 6x" Android app (free); the tune is persistent, meaning once it's done with these earbuds, the tune is retained as default (i.e.; without the app).
Wow awesome review! I got a pair of Air pros about a year ago, and although they aren't always the most comfortable (and sometimes the right one falls out lol), and I've had some issues with the mic not working during calls, overall I really like the sound as I prefer a more neutral sound. It would have been awesome if a video like this was available when I was debating which earbud to get tho! Now after viewing this I'd definitely get the Air S, although that wasn't out yet when I got my buds. Just ordered the Soundcore q30, mainly for budget noise cancellation, maybe you could also compare the soundcore headphones if you have the chance!
Very nice video bro! Agree with your 1st place sound quality ranking, both great but different flavours of sound 😎 Also Air S definitely best value for money!
Owned the Air S and Air Pro 2. Sent back the S because the noise cancelling was 10db less (30 vs 40). The sound in the Pro2 was also superior. I did miss the app and multipoint. The Pro 2 unfortunately also needs to go back because they absolutely refuse to stay in my ears. Several reviews had similar issues. I'm debating on the free pro 2's as they appear to lock I to the ears the best. The SV might be ok also but this review didn't get into ear retention as in-depth as I would have hoped. Excellent review but still I would have loved more ear retention attention..
Also can you review the qcy ht05 melobuds. I heard that despite its being really cheap, it has the best anc for his price. It would be really good if you could introduce it to those who doesnt have that much money (including me). ☺️
Hi, thanks for your videos, they’re so helpful. Having narrowed it down, I’m a bit stuck between earfun air s and soundpeats air3 pro. Which would you recommend as an all rounder? Thanks.
Great comparison. I'm on the fence about the Free Pro and JBL tune230. But I think you convinced me to get the Free Pro. You think I'd be right? Thanks!
The Earfun Air S would really have been the perfect replacement for my Earfun Air Pro 1 (which have better mics than the Airpods Pro), especially since they have app and better phone call quality in noisy environment, but the absence of proximity sensors is really prohibitive for me 😞.
I totally agree with your comment on the weird fit of the Free Minis. They bulge in the wrong spot and hurt the ears. I have both the Earfun Free Minis and the Soundpeats Minis and totally agree. I'd much rather have the Soundpeats in my ears. Excellent and extensive yet concise review!
EarFun Air Pro SV seems to me like the best overall option? But there's a problem with call quality? Am I right? What's a better alternative then? I'm looking for an upgrade from my Soundcore liberty 3 pro.
I *need* hook loops because when I punch or kick things the vibrations throw earbuds out my ears. What is the current lowest cost highest quality I can find?
show them in the ear.. didnt you use to do that..gives a perspective to protrution and look in use do you have a vixeo going thrue best half in ear variant here in late 2022??
I bought the free minis on a deal, they were my shower buds until I got my current favorite buds. They show up in my phone as Live E1, no idea the actual name, they have weak ANC, ipx7, good volume and sound and they were like $10.
