I'm also transitioning to WT after getting tired of WOTBlitz and WG, it's encouraging to hear this. I like that research seems more transferable in WT and I may not have to grind quite as much.
Don't you hate it when you just vibing with the crew and then you got minor hit, and suddenly all your crews have dementia and not able to operate the tank.

I have nearly 600 hrs in this game from the last few months (lockdown has helped!) I've spent quite a bit of money on it and I'd advise no one to try and play completely for free, but I wish I'd spent some of my cash better. So cash tips: 1. Buy GE (Golden Eagles) through Gaijin store - if you like the game you're going to spend quite a bit, so you can regularly buy the 25000GE for around £100 - a 31% discount. 2. Buy a 1 year premium pass - at 15000GE this is 78% cheaper than buying day passes - but it has a further 50% off several times a year - and you pay with GE, so combined with point 1. above, it's actually reasonable value at around £30. This will make the grind far less painful and you will never really be short of SE (Silver Lions). 3. Buy the Starter packs when on 50% sale. They're already cheap, but when on sale you get a few cheap GE and premium passes as well as some low level premium vehicles for early grind which have good boosters for Silver Lions and Research Points. 4. Only buy premium vehicles when on 50% sale and never anything less than Rank 3. Early game you'll be tempted to speed things up, but really you pass through Rank 1 and 2 very fast, so you'll probably never really play those vehicles again. Same with adding Talismans (which costs GE and doubles SL and RP points earned with that vehicle) - overall very few vehicles are worth Talisman, but certainly nothing below Rank 3 - Talisman are also often on 50% sales, so wait to see which vehicles you play regularly. Vehicles at Rank 3 -4 are the sweet spot as you spend quite a long time playing at this level and the research points on vehicles at this level influences up to the higher ranks where the grind is quite painful. Equally don't buy too high a level, there are no real shortcuts, if you buy a high level jet, you won't have the skills to play it and your crew will not have the skills to support it - do your research, google is your friend. Many premium vehicles are not good! 5. Don't buy every vehicle you research - if you're not going to use it and it's not part of the progression line you're aiming for, don't buy straight away - Gaijin often have 50% 'sales' (you buy with SL you earn in game) so you can save a whole load of SL. I currently have all the German level 5 jets researched, but haven't bought any of them - I have plenty of other trees to play and when I buy at 50% I'll save millions of SL. 6. Never spend GE to speed up vehicle research or buy modules - it's a massive waste of money. Much better to play a few games with the vehicle in Realistic Battle mode (just hit a few ground targets if you're finding it hard to hit aircraft). 7. The only thing I now spend GE on is crew skills - and even then only on G-Force and Weapon maintenance (Vitality can be useful too, and reload speed if you play a lot of Arcade). Those skills really effect playability of a vehicle, the rest are not so important and you'll earn those skills naturally over time. Even this small spend can get expensive if you have 5 crews in each of the 9 nations. 8. Don't get hung up on events and boosters. They can really damage the enjoyability of the game and are not really worth the time and pain.

I`m new at WT and I bought a lot of premium tanks. i`m not very good should i have stayed with the beginner tier tanks? I`ve spent a lot of money. how do I earn spawn points i have ground attack planes but I can`t play them not enough spawn points
If you haven't found your answer already: If you're new then you should look to progress normally (only invest in premium time and vehicles around your own BR at the start), you earn spawn points by doing stuff in your vehicles, such as damaging, killing, getting assists, capping, spotting, and even taking shots. You need a certain amount of spawn points to spawn in a plane (normally 480 I believe) and any added armaments, such as bomb and rockets, will cost extra spawn points
I haven't even started the download yet, however, I consistently hear major differences of stress for arcade v. realism modes. I thought I wanted realism, but I don't know now. I believe you've convinced me

It almost requires a mindset of aggression towards other players which can get too negative pretty quick. I have a question that I've been trying to get answered is there a way to change ammo types without firing the gun? Also I have noticed certain tanks have different zoom levels is that due to the train of my crew or what is going on?
4:27 Correction: You actually get less rp for vehicle research (half of module research iirc). This is the case anyways for non-premium users, not sure if you get the full rp in premium.

after playing this game for 69 hours I cannot see anyone choosing WT over WoT , literally everything that people complain about WoT are way worse in WT , starting with p2p model , ending with arty constantly oneshotting you , also WoT is way more new player friendly and forgiving , whether everyone just oneshots you in this game...
This is what I have been looking for. Basic explanations. Simulators that are any good a all. Will have a serious learning curve. That’s all apart of the fun. To work on skill sets and make yourself and your team or squad better. If I wanted a quick one or two week and done. I would stick with Play Station against the program only. Thanks again.
As a FTP just getting back in the game it’s not too much time if you just play a few rounds every now and then. Just avoid the grind and try not not strive for a new plane too much.

It came in way after I passed it on the tech tree. I've been playing since the Maus was the top tank in game. I've had the Maus since around that point in time, haha. The Puma is relatively new compared to when I've been active in that part of the tech tree.

I really like this game and I’ve been playing a good half year, I have never played a game I’ve destroyed a few controls.I have watched printed everything I can to help to play better, I play on a PlayStation 4 pro I don’t like a game that beats me by playing with more of advantage they know where I’m at they stop just in time like they see all times.I have been destroyed by shots that was impossible to make,I’ve been destroyed ,damaged where I can’t fire back and when I can shoot back the red tank waits and beats me most of the time. What really gets me is when a small tank destroys me with the one shot, when I was in the same tank I had to run or be killed ,I’ve watched my comrades take hits and keep going if I try to keep up I be destroyed just to loose another tank.I don’t believe I am playing with other live people in this game or it’s with just a few.I really like this game I haven’t seen anything better but I’m getting a little tired of getting the shit knocked out. Well back to playing I just had to vent after loosing most of my tanks
This game is full of hackers. I just started playing the game and match after match there are guys who immediately turn around, aim and hit the exact spot that blows up my tank. Super discouraging to someone who wants to start out in this game.

tip: dont buy premium tanks, just slowly grind the regular tanks, so u know how to play it, because most early tanks are similiar

Start in arcade it’s good for learning and fun. When you’re a decent player then realistic is much better.

The grinding is real and expensive
I have just started this game and I will spend as much time as I have in it but I will never spend a dime.
Love the look of War Thunder, would love to get into it, but simple don't have the time to spend that this game requires.

Along with customizing your aircraft weapons loadout, the pre-match screen also has the option to choose your spawn point.
