You are completely misquoting the Bible. So you thought that Harris winning who is for Abortion and gay marriage would be an answer to prayer. You are sadly misguided.
@ There was no candidate who was an answer to prayer. But there is a movement that has made itself synonymous with God which we are praying stop. It’s the greatest threat to the church & the church has co-signed it. That’s not a misquote. Thats the quote. And God is the same yesterday, today & tomorrow. I certainly am not. We’ll be praying for you.
I really appreciate the work that y'all are doing. I found Tim from the Paul & Morgan video, and as a fellow Millenial raised in a conservative Christian household who has done a lot of religious and political deconstruction since Trump's first term, I really look forward to these videos. I'm currently working through a coding course and this is perfect company while I go through exercises and projects, especially after Tuesday.
I also had a crisis of faith when he won the first time. Yesterday, I broke down, looked up at my ceiling and said “I hate you…” I really regret saying it, but I’m still hurting and scared. But we’re still here, and we need to push back. We need to look out for our neighbors who are going to be targeted by this administration.
No. You're on the right track. Walk away. It's a non-truth. Do you like being lied to? Your gut told you yesterday. If "He" is real....... "He" is a sadistic jerk, insecure and narcissistic. A huge member maybe? It's all so phallic. And fictitious. Religion is how we got here. Religion steals your wallet and helps you look for it. Try to sit alone and imagine, that your thoughts are nothing but electrical signals and synapses. You are alone. No one can hear your thoughts. You aren't being watched. There's nothing there. God isn't there, and there's no one in your head but you. And no one can save us but us. If there is a god, he's too mean for me to be associated with. I'm a good person in my own mind, and I don't keep friends with anyone who would let this all happen.
@@rachelfay9582 There are plenty of psalms where faithful believers express frustration with God. God can handle it. Move forward by doing good not only to your friends but to those who seek to harm. "Overcome evil with good".
I’m struggling with the same, esp since I am a black woman at a white church. Between Trump being elected in 2016, covid, BLM protests, overturning of Dobbs, and now Trump’s election AGAIN…I am really struggling to feel in community with my fellow believers. Even though we all claim to love Jesus, it is now clear our morals and values are very different. And I am struggling with knowing how to move forward with that knowledge. 😢
April, I was one of those who came to your defense on Twitter(I have since closed my account)... I think "Polite ANTIFA" really needs to become a thing! I wish you & everyone Peace & Joy as we face the unknown ahead, may Truth & Justice win out over hate and fear!!!
@@AS-kn6cq I hope it's just ignorance, but voting for Trump in the context of Christianity is either, you've never read the Bible and don't know it's messaging, or you chose to ignore its messaging and have chosen fear, anger, hate, and fascism based on Trump's words and actions. So which is it?
I had a crisis of faith when he won the first time. Then I remembered how God warned us that the path is narrow. Thank you for what you do. It's going to be very difficult, and those of us who are "progressive" Christians will need to keep each other motivated and lifted up.
This is the same thought that kept me in the faith while most of my Christian friends played mental gymnastics to support an open fascist tyrant. History will vindicate us
As a black woman, I thank you for saying that. The world doesn't want a woman and most definitely not a black woman. They choose hate and money over love.
Non-Christian here and was looking forward to this video. You did not disappoint and said everything I've been feeling. I'm ready to be involved and find a community to work with.
Unless the wealth gap is addressed, the angry voter will continue to be the power behind the electorate. Unfortunately, neither party is able to push back the greed of the top 1 percent.
My Jewish grandparents watched what was happening in Germany and Poland in 1933 and their response was to move to Canada I'm able to tell you this because they made that choice shalom my Christian brothers and sisters
This is literally the most disrespectful comment you can make to the legacy of the 16 million people who lost their lives as a result of that regime. Whatever you think of Trump. To opine that he is the next Hitler is just shameful.
Cradle Democrat in his mid-forties here, and you are speaking TRUTH regarding Dem policies over the past couple of decades. We were once the party of the New Deal. We need to return to our roots and pitch an actual better tomorrow. The steady rightward slide of this country has worried me for decades. And here we are...
My youngest (who is trans) came to me crying the morning after the election (they are 15). I told them that we will get through this. I am working on it.
New Jersey is a trans sanctuary state. It's really not as expensive to live here as people make it out to be. The counties right by New York City have stupid high property taxes, but outside there it's reasonable. Also, a lot of what other states leave up to loosely regulated private companies NJ includes in your taxes. It's a place to keep in mind if you and your kids need to get out ASAP. My state won't insert itself into the healthcare your kid needs. At least for now. Something tells me this incoming fascist government is going to ruin everywhere for everyone because we all know their "states rights" rhetoric is just that.
I work at a school and my job pertains to working with population that is almost entirely immigrant students. This week I have had kids going to the nurse with panic attacks or had to bring them to my office or the counselor’s in tears. They are afraid their asylum cases will be denied and they’ll be sent back to places where they were directed threatened, victims of terrible violence, witnessed the murder of family members. The Ukrainian kids came to school distraught on Wednesday. Their whole country might not exist in three months and yet they are supposed to function as normal and make their way through an ordinary day at school.
I'm a 66 yo mixed race Black woman who married a White evangelical man in the 90s and bought into ALL of it. Thirty years of hearing a vote for Republicans is godly and a vote for Democrats is of the devil. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, homeschooled my son, patriarchal church, Doug Wilson, we almost moved to Idaho. My millennial son left it all and Christianity. I left it all much later but cannot and will not ever leave Jesus. That's how I found your channel. Frankly, as a later baby boomer, it's been hard to watch Tim and April rather than watch Russell Moore even though you all have been hurt by White evangelicals. However, I am closer to Progressivism than I EVER thought I would. Tim and April, THIS show right here speaks to me. I've learned from all your interviews and now I'm going to watch you two as well. I am retiring soon on a fixed income that is less than what I'm earning now, but TNE will be a part of my giving budget. Im becoming a monthly donor today. I want you both to grow, continue speaking truth to power and be comfortable in raising your young families.
I sold my Tesla stock. It's suppose to do great in the coming years. I feel like some people around me want to make money off the hardship of others. My reward is the Kingdom.
That's probably a bit far-fetched. Do you really think that the gates to the place depend on you buying or selling stocks? If your God is capitalism maybe.
Being a Homeless Veteran for 10yrs if any of you think it's easy it's not. Nobody cares about our situation Now i make 22k weekly. have a home, a wife, a lovely daughter... A child of God. HALLELUJAH

💯 agreed. I plan on making daily changes to stop funding my oppression from Big Money. It isn’t politics anymore. We the people have way more power than we have utilized & I plan on figuring out how to use that these next four years. 💗
I have been looking forward to this all week. I hope it is okay for everyone today. Love your hair style April!!!!! Also as a public health professional I am sooooooo scared of RFK....
I'm sorry, but I don't trust a word out of these people's mouths anymore. They know about Project 2025 and they LOVE what they hear. They just say these stupid things because they think we're stupid enough to believe them. They got what they wanted and they will openly lie just to try to remain friends. I don't want to hear them cry when they inevitably get destroyed by the very thing they crave.
I want to believe what you're saying, because honestly it's better than the other option which is that people knew exactly who and what trump is and voted for him because of that. But at some point we have to stop 'blaming people' and just accept that perhaps a country that has always been racist, misogynist and xenophobic still is.
I think we hold on to this hope that if people are presented with facts, data, time stamps, evidence... they would not choose trump or ideologies that hinder their own communities.. and yet here we are... so maybe you are right.
Writing from Dearborn, MI. I teach piano for a living to primarily muslim families, and from the way the kids talked about Kamala, I can vouch that most Muslims voted for Trump that I know, if not all of them.
Part of what got me out of the fundie church I was in years ago was befriending people who the church told me were "evil" and seeing for myself that they weren't anything like what my church told me they were, so I've spent the last 8 years knowing that I'm up against a cult and trying to be the not-so-evil "evil" person in people's lives hoping they'll eventually see what I did. This result feels like a giant "eff you" and a lot of wasted emotional labor for all of those efforts. Like you, I understand and agree with a lot of people's frustrations, but I wasn't under the impression that TFG would make those frustrations anything but worse. As one of my favorite content creators said recently, "I wish we were better."
Hey Tim and April thank you for making this video. I still attend a very conservative evangelical church, and celebration over this tragedy is crushing me. It’s good to see people of faith speak truth to power. I’ve kept my socialist values a secret the whole time I’ve attended there, maybe now is the time to have some conversations with people about these topics
If you can, keep being a light in a dark place. If you can't take the pain of being verbally beaten down by your siblings, you're allowed to shake the dust off your shoes and walk away to a home that was meant for you.
I was born and raised in the southern pentecostal church of god denomination. Steeped in it from the day i came out of the womb. Leaving was the best decision i made for my mental health. I was very involved and had conservative values...I left after being in it for about 28 years.
Everything you've said is completely my exact sentiments. Everything that I have been taught as a youngster is irrelevant. Honesty, empathy, patience, love. It. Does. Not. Matter. These people do not care about anything that Jesus did. They claim to, but they do not. I feel like I don't even recognize this world anymore. When and where did I miss the exit ramp??
I feel your pain and anger. I will also say we are all out of adrenaline. There's nothing left. I think nothing will make them see what they have done more clearly is a Trump presidency. We will clearly see if Trump won or the country did. I hate that they ignore history. Some of us can't. Not to mention, Christians chose greed about people.
They’re really trying to compare the guy who wrote “Have mercy upon me O God, according the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions” to someone who blatantly refuses to ask God for forgiveness? 💀😭
There's a joke about Judgement Day that after the deity shows Trump all his bad works and asks him what he would say about himself, and Trump says, "You're in my seat."
Stay strong April! You are not alone. I am praying that their eyes and ears will be opened. They are lost in their delusions being fed a steady diet of propoganda. April and Tim keep speaking the truth! I appreciate your channel.
The basic unit of democracy is not the individual, or the family. It's small groups / communities. It's those groups -- which are RARE today -- that help organize a "media diet" and provide sanity checks on it. I saw an interview with Paul Jay (theAnalysis-news) where he was talking about the vital importance of learning how to speak to people from a religious point of view. I wrote to Paul letting him know about TNE and Vote Common Good.
I don't want to trigger anyone, and I also want to be sensitive to the fact that I am not American. I do share your lament over the results, and I also recognize how Canada has its own Trump like politician rising in the ranks, which concerns me. But I have hope in the way of Jesus. We need to work at the grassroots, community level to resist Christian Nationalism and other fascist ideologies.
Yeah kind of similar in Australia. The current opposition leader who will probably run for PM in the next election once called asylum seekers illiterate. My dad was a refugee. He was fluent in three languages.
I truly wish you were being extreme! I recently sent a message to a friend explaining why I was leaving our church which is teaching Christian Nationalism, and reread it, and thought this sounds crazy, but it is what is going on. Her response was, Wow! I have never heard from her again!
Tim and April, if anyone gives you trouble over what you're saying they haven't been paying attention! I agree with everything you said! Keep up the good work. Whether you see it or not, you have a lot of support 💙💙
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag carrying the cross." Sinclair Lewis, 1935. Trump is the reason I am no longer a republican and my so-called "christian" family and friends who voted for Trump are the reason I am deconstructing my faith.
Set aside 10% of whatever income drops into your bank account into a savings account. Let it accumulate, find ways to put it to good use. We can't just be talking we also need to be serving. Doing monthly or weekly community meals. Set up a way to find people who need things and raise money to help them. Tax bills, medical bills, etc. Christianity is not just telling, it's primarily doing. "Let them SEE your good works"
I was about 17 when Trump was elected the first time. I honestly didn’t know all the ins and outs about what happened there, but this is my first time finding out that Bernie Sanders was pushed out for Hillary. I thought he got sick and had to end his campaign. But the fact that they basically did what they did this time as last time…when will we learn? I don’t meant to say this in a malicious or derogatory way to wish bad on people but maybe it’s a good thing the Democratic party is much older and aging out (resigning or the “natural way” [obviously not preferable]) so that a new generation can come in and change things
The younger generation is going to need to form a new political party because the Democrats are far too compromised by their dependency on corporate interests which will be undermined by Republicans putting pressure on those interests. You can't expect a political party dependent on large corporations to be Left-wing populist.
Hi Tim I have really appreciated your channel. You and April were particularly articulate about your impressions of why Harris lost this election. And yes. You are right. We all need to be pro-active when it comes to fighting this great evil in the USA. Democracy is not something that we can take for granted. But the battle has to be done in the love and spirit of Christ. No spitting, or swearing, but to love our neighbour as ourselves. And we are in this battle TOGETHER!
After a loss with massive ramifications, we absolutely have to take a look in the mirror first. You are right, Tim and April. I think it is a good time to not mince our words. There's a healthy amount of conflict within these "internal" discussions that can help move us forward. And yes - we gotta sound the alarm about what Trump 2025-2028 will look like. Thanks for this!!
@@JustanotherconsumerBrilliant economic healing, massive influx of African-American jobs, trans people getting easier access to T or E. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs AND self-expression acceptance from the government. THAT'S what I want back.
The progressive side of the aisle basically says every issue you can think of is nuanced, and there are no easy answers. More than anything else, people want simple. The more precarious their lives are, the less cognitive energy they have left for dealing with complexity. If there’s one thing trump is good at, it’s selling a story. He was able to sell people a story with a simple enemy and a straightforward solution.
I will die mad over this election. Considered leaving up my Harris/Walz sign with another sign reading "Love your neighbor as yourself." The sad reality, imo, is that most already do. The amount of self-loathing is very apparent, and it's hard to be neighbourly to those you don't consider even human. Is empathy dead and gone😢😢
@AS-kn6cq I would say that anyone anti abortion doesn't consider women fully human. We don't get life saving treatment and are treated less than livestock. I include my own mother in this category, btw. And some consider gay people to be demonic, therefore not entitled to basic rights. Just two examples
Thank you guys, may God continue to bless us and protect us I will continue to pray this was written I do believe we are facing the dark times. our faith now needs to be the stronger than ever before. ❤✝️🕊️
People will not learn over the next four years. It’s human nature. Witness what happened to Jesus. That is the reality we are dealing with. Most people don’t care beyond their own noses. Most ‘Christians’ out there are those about whom Jesus said, ‘You say, “Lord! Lord” but I do not know you.’
I am a moderate independent and have heard of those folks and Project 2025. I listen to various podcasts for food for thought. I am also an older Gen X'er who gets her news from newspaper, TV, and podcasts. I am hoping that we can work out a win all they way around.
April. You're right about a concerted effort to get pastors involved in pushing rightwing politics in this election. My home church's pastor (evangelical and Mennonite) went to a conference where they pushed rightwing points (by the revisionist historian the right likes) and he used these in his "pastor's notes" as fact the next week. Absolutely no self reflection on their part.
This was a cathartic episode. I think we need to channel our anger into action. Get involved locally. Start having more conversations with people in the right-wing dominated spaces we navigate. But first of all, allow yourselves to rest. Rest is resistance.
Every time Time says, "This may sound radical," I know he's gonna speak some real truth to power, and I love it. But for real, why are we coddling people who keep leading us astray?
Saying 'forgive them they know not what they do' is a far kinder approach than I have to this. Blessings to you for having that kind of heart. I have more of an Avenging Angel viewpoint currently. Perhaps the world could benefit right now from both takes on this? My thoughts are they shouldn't have that 'out'. This isn't his first presidency and what he did the last time with deportations, massive death, arguing with states about sending medical devices that were needed, empty shelves, paper products costing double, and a host of other things showed all of us exactly who he is enough for these voters to be knowing in their actions now. Adding to that plenty of those that worked for his administration the first go round, people he was around, and many others have risked a great deal to profess to the world who he is and what his plans are. They came with warnings and even joined us to try to stop him. Those are the people that I could say that they knew not what they did at the time and when they did they made great efforts to stand against him. We have watched for four years as Trump and his cohorts have met with leaders, ignored the fact there is another president, and showed disrespect to the president and people of this nation. When he did speak he told everyone exactly what he stood for and who he was, and the majority of America voted for him anyway. So I will not be willing to allow them off on the 'they know not what they do'. They knew. So on that point I do respectfully disagree with you April Ajoy, but I also admire your ability to have a kind heart. I don't consider myself religious, I prefer the term spiritual. Though I do think the best choice for an Avenging Angel for the magas to face off with would be Avenging Angel Raguel. Does anyone think another Angel would be better for right now? This question is open to other belief systems and deities too.. Gods and goddess suggestions welcome as well.
People on a certain level - that level varies among individuals - do not know what they're doing. Yes. They have some awareness. But. That awareness is limited, and to differing degrees with each individual. Why? Because humans are imperfect and we all have areas of blindness that exists within us. If we all saw and understood the deeper recesses of our entire soul's makeup, I'm doubtful that we'd be here experiencing what we are as we are. I have to be willing to look in the mirror at Shannon and ask myself what's operating in me that feels threatened by the other, so much so, that it leads to hate and violence. While I'm not actively out there committing violence, I understand that I'm just as capable on some level as the next person. I need others with whom I can openly dialogue and be transparent. This includes those with whom I may disagree and vice versa. People tend to surround themselves largely only with those that'll agree with them. I'll never learn anything this way. The more my finger is pointed at the other, the less I'll be able or even willing to see what and how the very thing I so strongly oppose manifests in and through me. People who are In Their Right Minds don't allow fear to control them to the point at which they commit atrocities. I can't be driven by fear and simultaneously moved by love. Fear and Love are opposites. Hatred and violence are byproducts of fear.
Thank you for mentioning again the similarity between pastors' sermons on voting as a Christian. I track that stuff in my county and there were so many sermons talking about how "it's not a political issue, it's a theological issue," or "we're voting for policies, not personality," or "Jesus wasn't a Democrat or a Republican." Notably, there were little to no critiques of the Republican party, just mostly misinformation about Democratic policies. It really hit home for me, though, how much propaganda and misguided bias have tainted how so many people view the world, when I listened to a sermon my brother-in-law gave. He's a pastor (who was very supportive of my racial justice advocacy in 2020!). He said the usual about Jesus not being a Republican or Democrat and how political issues are actually really theological issues, and then he spent nearly 10 minutes near tears saying lie after lie about the Democratic party. A lot of it was demonizing queer community, making claims that children are being mutilated and indoctrinated in school and that parents' rights are being taken away. Like I said, he supported my racial justice advocacy. He was the only one in my husband's family who did so. He's always been a very kind, loving, and respectful person. But then I hear this sermon, where he's talking about people like me, queer people, as if we're demonically-influenced and promoting evil. Just saying lie after lie, and crying like he truly believes it. I want to reach out to him and give him actual, factual info about trans issues because it hurts my by heart to see him so scared about things that's aren't true. But it hurts even more knowing he heard those untrue things and assumed they were true without question, that he wouldn't hesitate to say people like me who actively support the trans people in my life are supporting a demonic agenda.
If anyone wants to understand what is happening, research cult psychology and Cluster B personality disorders. We need to remain compassionate and pray for a miracle. And be ready to lay down our own lives in order to protect our neighbors if things escalate. I hope it doesn't come to that.
Yep! Black conservative Christian Sir Walter Jones made a video stating that the nation will experience a mass psychosis during this administration and that we need to be prepared for what’s to come.
@sincerely5906 yep, the mass psychosis is already well under way. Not trying to scare people, God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but people need to understand the reality of what we're up against.
I’m very incredulous about bringing ‘personality disorders’ or pop psych into this, just because we don’t often think about the politics of power that come into play when discussing psychology! I don’t mean to knock the entire field, because I know there are genuine people in it + we’re all trying to make sense of the world and what has just happened, but I think sometimes we can fall into the trap of attributing the cruel, selfish, or evil behaviour we see others carrying out to immutable, innate personality characteristics or conditions which locate societal patterns within the individual. Once you start trying to medically diagnose people, things get very iffy.
@augusta.5089 it's not pop psych, but I understand what you're saying. I'm speaking from experience with both exiting a cult and years of research on PDs due to close relationships with people on the Cluster B spectrum. I don't demonize them. In fact, I strongly believe we need to do what we can to break the "evil" stigma attached. But disordered individuals do present very serious threats to the mental health of those who don't understand what they're dealing with. To me, it's clear as day.
Nope. I work with cluster B folks, BPD, etc. Your pop psychology aim here isn’t helpful. We can go down the rabbit hole and diagnose the leftists too but it’s not helpful
The Lord will rise up evil rulers as well as good to do His will and it helps to draw those who truly serve Jesus into a smaller flock. I was crushed by the election results, but I know there are many passages in the Word that tell of Godly people serving under evil leaders. We just need to keep loving on people, being His hands and feet as the world keeps being worldly. Praying for all of my brothers and sisters struggling emotionally and mentally with this. You’re not alone.
A segment from a Moody Blues' song (The Story in Your Eyes) >> "...and from the ashes we can build another day." Harris outperformed 2020-Biden in my county north of Atlanta.
To add to April's point about the very similar sermons amongst white evangelical pastors, let's remember how Josh Howerton was actually accused of plagiarizing his "apology" (If you can call it that) for an offensive comment he made in a sermon a little while ago. I would not put it past these pastors to be in cahoots or to be copying other pastors.
I was raised united pentecostal and was studying to be minister. I came to terms with being gay at 19. 1985. I completely turned away from christ. And the maga pushed me even further. But something quickened in me. I started to realize that it isn't Jesus who hates and judges. It is people. I thought I could never be part of the evangelical church ever again. Never be apart of that holy spirit filled experience. Then I stumbled upon this. I found your vids on RUclips and and honestly had no idea there was such a movement. ❤. Faith has been restored. Yet even still people will come out of no where to tell me I'm going to hell. People love the idea of gay people torturing for all eternity. I think it's their fetish. I'm not a liberal woke leftist. I'm a centrist and will always stand with Israel. Your politics mirror mine.
Disabled people are just as scared as everyone else and even with all the “we are in this together” talk, no one is mentioning us (well my disabled brothers and sisters in the US). Not one mention in this episode. Reminds us of COVID.
First of all, I love you guys, and I feel so seen. Second, Tim, I respectfully disagree about strategy, even though I totally love where your heart is and agree with your sentiment wholeheartedly. I’ve been listening to Sarah Longwell’s focus group podcast, going back to listen to old episodes to make sense of everything, and I think the country is moving more anti-trans, anti-queer, anti-woke. They are also low-info or getting false info from their algorithms. I am sad and also I don’t want to suffer a failure of imagination about what many of our fellow citizens believe. Even the immigrants are anti-immigrant! Y’all are doing a wonderful and important job of providing a safe space for us exvangelicals. ❤
From Michigan and since the election the Neo Nazi and KKK are out in droves. I think the people protesting Gaza affected the turn out too, they did it to protest but it negatively effected and affected the election in such a bad way. Right before Hitler there was worldwide depression so people were probably having the same thoughts about the cost of living.
Comment at 18:13: In support of April's point, there are plenty of RUclips videos put out by channels like RebelHQ that demonstrate this. An interviewer will ask a random Trump supporter to comment on something he said and they will claim they never heard him say that. I must've watched a dozen or more such videos this past summer.
one thing I need help with. which religions are the "evangelicals". because a high percentage of mormons voted for trump. a high percentage of catholics voted for trump.
When people act like a holes they most certainly are a holes. Can't get around it. Many people don't like that term but it is what it is. I'm with you and I don't call them other names. It's more a description of their behaviour.
Hello Matt, I was wondering if you would ever talk about the impact of toxic masculinity/misogyny being a large factor. We are seeing how young men 18-25 especially voted for trump and have been consuming a lot of “manosphere” content such as Andrew state and Aiden Ross. I would like to figure out as a man how I can work on using Jesus to show this isn’t a healthy and just way forward but I know young men for whatever reason feel angry and lost.
A lot of it is that they were taught that they’d be more privileged and wealthier and the “breadwinner” but women are the ones getting the good grades, going to college, getting good jobs, etc… while they’re stuck flipping burgers.
So many evangelicals believe their prayers have been answered. And we (including me, a black woman) have been praying against their judgement. We’ve been warning, praying & making pleas. And they just fought their way into their own judgement & consequences. There is a REASON for the rise in deconstruction. We’re talking about this as if it’s a normal election with just a rude guy. “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares the LORD. Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the LORD.
- Jeremiah 23:1-2
Jeremiah is a bleak read but it’s worth reading in its entirety.
“Peace, peace” when there is no peace may haunt us soon…
I seldom I see my scriptures in these comments in any context other than misuse and misappropriation thank you for your wisdom shalom

Absolutely! There's a REASON for the rise in deconstruction.
Yesterday, I broke down, looked up at my ceiling and said “I hate you…”
I really regret saying it, but I’m still hurting and scared.
Remember to repent from that.

I'm still gutted, not sure I can continue to go to my church knowing 80% or more probably voted for this...
Right there with you! I don't want to worship with folk who are filled with so much hate.

I'm sorry, but I don't trust a word out of these people's mouths anymore. They know about Project 2025 and they LOVE what they hear. I don't want to hear them cry when they inevitably get destroyed by the very thing they crave.
Great show.

Doing monthly or weekly community meals. Set up a way to find people who need things and raise money to help them. Tax bills, medical bills, etc. Christianity is not just telling, it's primarily doing. "Let them SEE your good works"
I ❤ the fact that you say everything that I feel. Thank you!
Y'all are awesome! Thank you for being there for us that are floundering.

The best way to sound the alarm is simply to remind people of what happened from 2017-2020.
Empathy is a sin now.
Not sure who you are talking about. Those who don’t consider their neighbors human.
Yes, and if the Republicans could, they'd make empathy and compassion a crime.
@AS-kn6cq I would say that anyone anti abortion doesn't consider women fully human. We don't get life saving treatment and are treated less than livestock.
I think you are right! I know I was telling others I was voting against something rather than for something. We need to talk about these things!
People need community where they feel safe and accepted, in my opinion. Aside from basic needs, such as food, housing, water, etc.
I was very upset about the election but can't think about it now because we are in a snow apocalypse in eastern Colorado!
One thing is definitely certain this country is about to become even more polarized.
Not gonna lie, I have been one of those people needing your voices after Tuesday. Thank you for sticking with it
I may not be religious, but I will assist you guys, thank you.
Great episode this was much needed and well done
19:04 thank yall for being so freaking HONEST!!!!!❤️💯
Tim & April, you do great work but your voices are not enough. We need a liberal religious coalition at the national level.
April can yu share that quote on Threads please!?!? That was amazing reminder
Sometimes God gives people over to their worst desires - to teach them.
It's also time to change the two-party system.
He lost two votes here in Georgia. My husband and I were enthusiastic Harris supporters. 💙💙

Harris outperformed 2020-Biden in my county north of Atlanta.
Christian nationalists: "Working hard to turn 'the Last Days' into a self-fulfilling prophecy."
I bet she outperformed Biden everywhere and suspect there was some foul play to get the results that we have.
Thank you Tim and April! We need each other and I’m so happy we don’t have to be alone. ✊💙❤️🩹
I should probably see if I can find “God Loves, Man Kills.”
Definitely sure that Disney is not going to incorporate that storyline into the MCU!
@Justanotherconsumer is that a book.
Get the "heck out of Dodge". Yep. Great way to put it. And I'm from Kansas. Sometimes you just have to.
one thing I need help with. which religions are the "evangelicals". because a high percentage of mormons voted for trump. a high percentage of catholics voted for trump.
High control patriarchal religions come in many flavors
You are 100% right!!!!
When people act like a holes they most certainly are a holes. Can't get around it. Many people don't like that term but it is what it is. I'm with you and I don't call them other names. It's more a description of their behaviour.
He won too big for me to be convinced it was legitimate. Harris still ran a poor campaign, but Russia definitely interjected and interfered.
Trump should have lost "bigly" because not only was he his worst self ever, he also ran the very worst campaign in US history!
APRIL LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR BOOK !!!
Agreed
A lot of it is that they were taught that they’d be more privileged and wealthier and the “breadwinner” but women are the ones getting the good grades, going to college, getting good jobs, etc… while they’re stuck flipping burgers.
They've probably been shown Jesus of the Bible and rejected him as too "woke", embracing supply side Jesus
