The only regret I have about Saban and LSU is that we should have brought him back when he left Miami. We had an opportunity, and Skip let his own hubris keep him from making that decision in the best interest of LSU, which was his job at the time. I personally think he was protecting his OWN legacy as the greatest coach in LSU history.
Hard to fire Les after 2 seasons, both 11-2 and #3 in the country, while Nick was with the Dolphins. Les followed that with the National Championship in year 3, Nick's first year back.
It's all rumors that Nick wanted to come back to LSU. It's all talk with no substance. Saban doesn't strike me as the type of person to beg or have regrets about much.
I pray he still comes back for 2 to 4 years he wants to..u hear it in his soul. No disrespect to Bama ..geaux Tigers. Read the book he liked LSU. U can love but if like. Its differ. It's amazing that his vision came to fruition despite him not being at LSU. I don't cry for much, but the day the 2003 team is honored and he's back in Tiger Stadium, I may shed a tear or two.
