- Here we go! Over the next several weeks we are gonna be playing through Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. One of the most requested games to be played on my channel I figured what better time than now, the way it was intended to be played on an original CRT. This game was difficult but very fun. Great story and graphics along with a killer soundtrack, this game actually reminds me of God of War to be honest. So, enjoy the first level as I revisit this awesome game. @slyd3383 this one is for you buddy!

While this is played on a CRT, lemme know if you’d rather I play it on the big TV for future play throughs. Thanks 🙏🏽
I say keep playing it on the CRT. It looks beautiful and like you said, it was meant to be played this way.
If you play on the big TV, you should use component cables, but anti aliasing can be worse. But the resolution or screen is better. [I don't know if you use component cables, and it's for PS2]
hey DARRYL , the CRT definitely shows more detail on camera , ,just get camera closer and tweak shudder n focus of camera until ""sweet-spot"" is achieved 👍😸👍🏆
Agreed with you,@@wyldelf2685. Simply get a closer angle & alas all is fine again. So I too say continue filming on the CRT TV set. It's all cool.☮

That intro was beyond epic! I'll have to put this game on my eBay cart now. ;) it's one of the MK games I've missed out on.
Shaolin Monks was so important at the time it came out. It finally gave us OG arcade fans the backstory that really didn't exist yet aside from laying all the character intros and endings out on a table to read and trying to make sense of what actually had happened in the MK Universe.

Some boss fight took me a few tries for sure.. also mk2 version is unlocked if you find smoke, was a pretty cool addition!!
This game was so awesome. My roommate at the time would get in trouble with his wife because we played 2 player mode over and over again for years. Hope they bring back something similar soon!

I remember picking this game up the week it released and playing ko-op with my brother. Seriously some of the most fun I've ever had playing games. This game was a masterpiece. They don't make em like this anymore.
Love that crt tv, the scanlines look pretty good and thick. Also love your content, calm and casual vibes keep up the good work.

So I bought it years later at like age 24. It was really refreshing to play this.
0:25 😄. Glad you decided to give Shaolin Monks another go. Although definitely challenging, its such a great MK spinoff and deserves to be in the spotlight. I love how Shaolin Monks tells the backstory from the end of the 1st Tournament and going into MK2. It's one of my personal favorite MK games. Look forward to future installments of this playthrough. 👊
Thanks dude, I’m (kind of) looking forward to it, the difficulty makes me reconsider my life choices lol but I agree, the story taking place between 1 and 2 is EPIC! 👊🏼

This game is awesome. I loved seeing mortal kombat backgrounds in greater detail etc.. my favorite character to use is Subzero.

One of my favorite ps2 games absolute quality game and did you know there's hidden side missions given by Noob Saibot that when completed unlocks MK2?

Hey My friend Yea I like this game its really well made for the mk2 fans, Now I would like to see a remastered version or better yet a remake on the current gen systems. But they will have to remake all 3 the first games story line in one shaolin monk package. This version is best played on a CRT although you do get HD boxes that can boost the game for a bigger flat screen TV but its still a bid blurry. Keep this up we love it.
Thanks dude. A remake would be epic absolutely. So many remakes would be epic, and could even spawn new stories from the MK universe. One can only hope. I appreciate the comments my friend 👊🏼
I never got a chance to play this. Lol, I always wondered what those eyes belonged to. When the OG MK was out, someone had told me there was a secret move that you could do to knock your opponent into the shadows and you would hear bones crunching and screaming, which we now know is not true. But it seemed plausible at 13.
I think we need another torturous playthrough of Sub Zero Mythologies 😂

GET IT! A lot of great deals on PS2 on eBay and marketplace, also, Shaolin Monks is pretty easy to get still, definitely worth it!
