    I think this is the place for me. Now I just wish there was a comparable site for learning to whistle. Yes, I'm planning a video of me riding a unicycle, while juggling and whistling. Hmmm, maybe while playing...forget it. Anyway, this ties right in with an exercise program I recently started. The first step is balancing on one foot; then, a number of easy stretches/exercises; then, a while on the treadmill, then, a few dumbbell exercises, and FINALLY, juggling. Yes, I'm making up for lost time. Oh, yes, whistling. That's tough. I've failed at it many times.I don't even know if everyone can learn that skill.
    (Mon Jul 4, 2022) My first juggling drill: five minutes with each hand. That was enough to teach me that the one-hand drill is NOT too easy. I dropped the ball in my left hand many times. Is that POSSIBLE? Yes it is. I just did it.Tomorrow, the same.

    All respects to you, I agree with all positive comments regarding your character and your teaching. We need good teachers like you, that think outside the box. That said, I am beginning to think no one can really teach another how to juggle, they can only teach how to practice. The brain ultimately ends up doing it automatically, all we have to do is practice. I love what you said about not rushing the learning process. Instead have faith, stay motivated, be persistent and the rest of will fall into place. I am going to practice 15-30 minutes a day. Not too much, not too little, and see where that takes me. We “can” find a way to do this without the frustration.

  • @vb66666
    @vb66666 7 лет назад

    Good tutorial. I like the idea of throwing at various heights. But I'm not sure about the end of the 2 ball section with the inside and outside notions. I dont like the synchronus throws neither which I tried to avoid. Throwing the second ball under the first ball when at his peak is the way I try to explain this step. Keep the good work :)

    • @runeciti
      @runeciti 7 лет назад +1

      I totally agree. From my experience in teaching, trowing at various heights can be very helpful, but the inside and outside notions can be quite confusing for the novice juggler. Also find the (4x,4x) exercise totally avoidable.
      There a couple of concepts as well LtL has forgotten:
      1. The elbows stay close to the body. This is really one of the most important advices you can give (better than standing in front of a wall), cause most of the people tend to take their elbows forward, wich causes the balls to be trown forward instead of lateraly.
      2. Also: besides the central line that divides our body in half, vertically, there are other two, one on each shoulder. On the inside kaskade, with an odd number of balls, these should be trown from the central line, and caught beyond the shoulder line so the hands move in a circular way between these two points
      It's a very good tutorial anyway.

      Initially you’ll want to follow the ball. Down the line when you’re more comfortable, try to juggle while looking straight past the balls into the middle distance.

    2 balls in left hand ,1 in right, let go left, let go right, catch left, catch right ARGH...hehe how to get left to let go of the caught ball before the next one is caught...Okay drop the left ball and catch the new one...Eventually i can do the round to end up with 1 ball left hand, 2 balls right hand and again my hand that has 2 balls at the end is not coordinating with my brain to allow that round to begin again...I guess a lot more practice is needed.

      I'm a multi-instrumentalist musician, audio engineer, and song writer, so I'm into all sorts of music. But no one taught me more about music than Zappa.

    This guy did not finish doing the job he set out to do. Showing us how to do one single three-ball cascade with absolutely no repeats is just not enough. How do you go from doing one cascade to stringing it along indefinitely? How do you maintain control when the ongoing cascade begins to break down and the balls start going wide? How do you maintain stability? He talks about turning the three-ball cascade into a four or five-ball cascade, but he doesnt SHOW US. He just assumes it is obvious and tells us to do it.
    I am deeply, deeply disappointed in this half-finished video.
