Aloy’s story works so effectively because it’s the classic “Hero's Journey”. She starts in the Sacred Land, the familiar home, the “ordinary world” (for Aloy). She is set on a quest, to cure the All Mother and save the Nora, but she is reluctant as she has been scorned as an outcast her whole life. She receives “supernatural aid” with technology through the Focus, giving her abilities no other Nora posses. She sets out into the larger world facing many trials and initiations, and is guided by a mysterious mentor: Sylens. Along the way she gathers companions and allies, but also enemies. She delves into a deep cave (well, several), entering a nether world to face beasts and uncover secrets. This gives her knowledge and resolve to undertake the final stage of her quest. She literally meets the Goddess and is given a “magical” boon to defeat the Dragon. In the end she returns from her quest a child of both worlds. She is at peace with her tribe, knowing who she is and where she and her people came from. At the same time she has uncovered the past, the lost world of technology, and can move equally among it. It pretty much hits all the beats of classic myths and stories.
also throwing it in that she's also a Jesus type character, immaculate conception, savior of humanity and all that. I wonder if the series ends with her as a martyr?
Nicholas Howie Not really. She kills a lot of people and doesn't think twice about it. Bandits, Eclipse members, corrupt gaurds of the Carja, it doesn't matter. She spared none, which made me feel no connection to Aloy, as she is a merciless brat willing to kill hundreds just to get what she wants. Electric shock arrows and she doesn't even use them to knock out human enemies.
When i initially started playing the game I didn't expect much. Quickly realised how deep it is, to the point where even my mother enjoyed watching me play solely because of the story element. It is a masterpiece, and its sad that its exclusive to the PS4.

And that this was AI last resort to make Soback clone so she can one day override settings since its bio/dna authorisation, but doors get jammed and AI is doomed to never meet her. That creators of AI were afraid that their experiment of recreating earth will end up bad. So they created Hades program ,as fail-switch to wipe everything and start again. That last survivvors/programees of AI were murdered, because one of them thought "this will never stop, ppl will try to destroy themself again!" so he ban any next human generations of access to humanity database/knowledge. Ending up with ppl living prehistoric like times next to contrast of mysterious modern machines. Main story was so deep, its sad that datadisk was so cheap in that.

Sylens said he saw the explosion and that's why he went to explore Gaia Prime. And Sylens didn't just capture the remnant of Hades to figure out who tried to destroy Gaia, it was mainly because he still wanted to learn from him.
If I understood it right, it was the mysterious signal that caused all the AI children to be released including Hades and Hephaestus. In the short time before she self destructed her own core, she sent out the signal for Aloy to be born and released. Since the highest clearance was genetically locked to Dr. Sobek

Wow bro, I've watched the storyline in other videos several times which is much longer but still don't understand the storyline. and you explained it well and I could understand it in 3 minutes. wow.
First Plays OK, let me try to say this again: When you say "I doubt you can," you are at a state of uncertainty, BUT if you say "I doubt you can't," you are feeling confident that a person IS going to complete a certain objective. Do you understand what I'm saying? Or is your head too thick to understand? Oh, and grammar isn't the same as spelling. I also love that you assumed that I'm an american, because I speak English. You're an absolute moron.
Knowing that the world ended in 2064, and the Apollo has been purged, Gaben's desendant will probably continue to work on that if he learns about the Old Ones.
Such an amazing game. The visuals, the gameplay, the storyline, it’s all beautiful. I wonder what we’ll expect for the 2nd one?? So many questions. Also I really think the Apollo function wasn’t destroyed.. if you play the game you will see Apollo is offline. Also Samina mentioned creating a backup in case something happened to Apollo. Just think. Years of knowledge could be returned. The Nora will finally learn of their history. Another thing i I want answered is who sent out that rogue transmission that corrupted Gaia?.. hopefully we see that in the 2nd one as well
wow wtf how do you get the story wrong? first you miss out a lot and then you get parts wrong. i finished this 2 days ago so its still fresh in my memory
christopher box it was pretty much spot on honestly. I've read all the collections and everything. Aloy a clone, Faro is a douchebag, the world needed to be reset. They could've put the reason why Faro killed the alphas but other than that, it was all good.
well, some parts are just thrown in there, like the machines in the new world, but their whole point is that they are linked to what happened before. Also hades isn't rogue it's just following it's programming.
also sylens didnt capture hades to "question him about who sent an activation system" the story clearly states that sylens repairs and "activates" it. he wanted more knowledge and thats pretty much all he said
Elisabet Sobeck created GAIA as the core of Zero Dawn project to save humanity. GAIA created Aloy to save humanity of Zero Dawn. And with a matching 99.74% DNA, Aloy Is Elisabet Sobeck who is her own mother AKA All-Mother. Honestly, Horizon Zero Dawn has one of the best story out there among the best RPGs.
Good summary honestly. If someone hadn’t played the game watched this it would have meant nothing. But for someone who beat the game it makes a solid summary.
Banuk are a nomadic tribe and the place where the is a side quest isn't even the cut, the banuk territory, it's just a settlement. Plus shadow carja are just rebellous carjas that are too devout to the mad king for their own good. That's why they went to exile
Reading some of the pick-up notes and audios you find in game is interesting too. People who were brought into the facility had 3 choices after they found out the truth of what the project really was. 1.) Help with project Zero Dawn. After the project was finished they got to bring two family members into the sealed environment and live out and enjoy life for what it's worth. 2.) Decline to assist the project. And get isolated from everyone until day zero arrived (the day that the robots killed off every living thing in the world, and the project was over), and then get set free out in the world which was guaranteed death. Or 3.) Which was medical Euthanasia
The red raids were caused by Gaia destroying herself and blacking out the sun with ash. Which is a rather big part of the world and how people treat each other. Along with several other mistakes but no one ever remembers the reason for the red raids.
you forgot the banuk tribe.. also i don't think aloy was a clone. in a sense she is but she was born from a womb even though its an AI's womb it's still a womb and she was a baby not immediately on her 30s.. so you can say that she is Elizabeth reborn in the future.
+Hakan Baratheon she is not exactly 100% Elizabeth. sylence even said that she has two mothers but nowhere in the game that was stated that she's a clone. i get what you mean by her being a clone i even said that in a sense she is a clone.. but i really think it's Elizabeth being reborn OR Aloy is her own person and can be identified as daughter of Elizabeth only aloy was born centuries after her death and on a machine's womb.
Jay Zie How could she be 99.96% geneticly like Elizabeth If she was not a clone? Besides, It is stated in the game the project for Alpha clones (stated multiple times).
Jay Zie you really have no idea How cloning Works, do you? What other mammal reprodutive method could make a 99.9% similar genetic? And It is stated in many parts of the game about the Alpha cloning project.

"Rost trains Aloy as a fierce hunter"
Aloy: Throws rock.
*_FIERCE._*
I love this series so much
And this was fucking hilarious.
Rip. Literally everything
Omg I was so invested in this games story, it was incredible
That was an amazing game. I seriously can't wait for the sequel
That game was soo amazing
it literally changed my life
You became a hunter?
A-loy
So like, alloy? Metal Alloy? 😂
JAMCastillo1 mmmhm
Jep, and the dude that raised her is called rost, which is rust in german
NO SHIT
Thats intentional .... cause she is a mix of human and machine
Nihal Mohammed she's all human, birthed by a machine as all the others great grandparents in the story. But her name is a mix of 2 metals to create better properties a 21st century genius, born to 31st century hunters. To make a genius robot hunter
I just noticed that matriarch kicked baby Aloy like a football. That was funny.
i discovered the story through my 100h playthrough, it has been epic,
learning about the past throu "relics" (holograms in this case) is super captivating
the only thing that i didn't understand it's the vintage points :p
mainly just a person who knew things were going south in the world so went and visited places that he had a connection with for one last time before it was all over
so READ the text of the vantages! (they dont have only audio). ideally in order.
u WILL understand it ALL this way!
That’s fast and the most clear way to tell the story ever. Also I’m impressed, you took a long game and like Olaf you told it in 3min. Bravo.
fuckin love this game
That was a great quick explanation. This has refreshed my memory and made ready for the new release of Horizon Forbidden West.
*Genshin Impact brought me here*
Hello-
I think the vital part is missing - Hades is nor just a "rogue AI" but a part of Zero dawn and just tried to do what it was actually designed to do.
1:57 *Reads Subtitles*
... Thats true!
Wow bro, I've watched the storyline in other videos several times which is much longer but still don't understand the storyline. and you explained it well and I could understand it in 3 minutes. wow.
Hello fellow genshin fans
And then aloy gets sucked into the stars and dropped in teyvat
Yes, I do agree on the fact that Aloy is hot
The story deserves a billion dollar holywood movie
this is metal gear levels of madness
not even close though
@@ark14700 i agree
Thanks for the recap. I can continue to Forbidden West now. :)
*Do The Land Before Time In 3 Minutes I Doubt You Can't*
First Plays the game?
First Plays Doubt you can't means that you think that they WILL do it it in 3 minutes, dumbass.
Dank are you at least trying to talk? And call me the dumbass... Okay bro..
First Plays It's not my problem you can't comprehend what I'm saying, therefore proving my point that you're a dumbass. Congrats, you played yourself.
I laughed harder than I should have at that Rost hug/attack/sacrifice
Holy fuck that was randomly funny
2:49 what do work for "Lattern-Man"?
Go play the game, or complete it, there's spoilers in the vid
This channel is cool 😍 subscribed.
Is Half-Life 3 released yet in 3021 yet?
Knowing that the world ended in 2064, and the Apollo has been purged, Gaben's desendant will probably continue to work on that if he learns about the Old Ones.
Its in development right now
Good job man! This definitely deserves a like
Do back to the future!
Julianfyi the game?
Ri oh69 no they started doing films/series like Stranger Things
That was the longest 3 minutes of my life, and I enjoys every single bit of iy
Very accurate but forgot about the banuk tribe
@@happygofishing7590 but everyone cares about the droid attack on the wookies it's a system we cannot afford to lose
They don't have much in the main story and are mainly explored in the DLC
bruh I've played it multiple times and you recapped it very well in 3 mins, good job!
3:03 she looks like the netflix standard profile pic lol
Such an amazing game. The visuals, the gameplay, the storyline, it’s all beautiful. I wonder what we’ll expect for the 2nd one?? So many questions. Also I really think the Apollo function wasn’t destroyed.. if you play the game you will see Apollo is offline. Also Samina mentioned creating a backup in case something happened to Apollo. Just think. Years of knowledge could be returned. The Nora will finally learn of their history. Another thing i I want answered is who sent out that rogue transmission that corrupted Gaia?.. hopefully we see that in the 2nd one as well
I don't remember seeing this scene in the game play 1:17
Fady Maged it’s when Ross lifts Aloy into the sky like the scene from Lion King
Thank you!!! A simplified version over a story not so simplified 🙏🖤
No man's land video will be like in one sec "travel"
Energy recharge
I watched this before playing, I forgot everything and Played the game and came back to re watch this video.
wow wtf how do you get the story wrong? first you miss out a lot and then you get parts wrong. i finished this 2 days ago so its still fresh in my memory
christopher box it was pretty much spot on honestly. I've read all the collections and everything. Aloy a clone, Faro is a douchebag, the world needed to be reset. They could've put the reason why Faro killed the alphas but other than that, it was all good.
christopher box what do you think is wrong?
well, some parts are just thrown in there, like the machines in the new world, but their whole point is that they are linked to what happened before. Also hades isn't rogue it's just following it's programming.
ULmadM5 thats one of the things. that was wrong theyre acting as if hades wasnt created with the others
also sylens didnt capture hades to "question him about who sent an activation system" the story clearly states that sylens repairs and "activates" it. he wanted more knowledge and thats pretty much all he said
You forgot the Wakandan and Jabari tribe.
Team fortress 2 history 2.0 please
Man I lost it when Alloy nonchalantly walks away from Helis's grasp
i wonder whats gonna be her ability in genshin
There’s a leak abt her elemental ability
ruclips.net/video/Snis30O2tNc/видео.html
She’s a cryo user btw
Elisabet Sobeck created GAIA as the core of Zero Dawn project to save humanity.
GAIA created Aloy to save humanity of Zero Dawn.
And with a matching 99.74% DNA, Aloy Is Elisabet Sobeck who is her own mother AKA All-Mother.
Honestly, Horizon Zero Dawn has one of the best story out there among the best RPGs.
I 100% agree
next time indiana jones series.
Very interesting! Lol. You done a very good job on telling the story
Do Filthy Frank lore
1:18 I laughed so hard. But yeah, basically. "Bye, bye, baby, don't come back!"
U are here after watching horizon zero dawn 2 trailer :)
Yes
Good summary honestly. If someone hadn’t played the game watched this it would have meant nothing. But for someone who beat the game it makes a solid summary.
lol some of this is kinda wrong
watcher: *exists*
Young Aloy: I WILL CHARGE ROCK TO FULL POWER.
Black mirror season 1-3
I learned way more from this 3 minute video then I did from an hour video I watched (which still left me confused afterwards)
Nora, Carja, Oseram (Banuk??)
And the shadow carja
Banuk are a nomadic tribe and the place where the is a side quest isn't even the cut, the banuk territory, it's just a settlement.
Plus shadow carja are just rebellous carjas that are too devout to the mad king for their own good. That's why they went to exile
Also there's the Utaru and Tenakth tribes.
The store is sooo good, sooooo bleak.
Aloy and E. Sobeck: both hot gingers. That did it for me I’m subscribed
This was inaccurate
Owen Carter Yes it was.
The red raids were caused by Gaia destroying herself and blacking out the sun with ash. Which is a rather big part of the world and how people treat each other. Along with several other mistakes but no one ever remembers the reason for the red raids.
How?
Thank you the story was complicated earlier but now its clear
you forgot the banuk tribe.. also i don't think aloy was a clone. in a sense she is but she was born from a womb even though its an AI's womb it's still a womb and she was a baby not immediately on her 30s.. so you can say that she is Elizabeth reborn in the future.
Jay Zie yeah that means she is a clone. That’s how clones work
+Hakan Baratheon she is not exactly 100% Elizabeth. sylence even said that she has two mothers but nowhere in the game that was stated that she's a clone. i get what you mean by her being a clone i even said that in a sense she is a clone.. but i really think it's Elizabeth being reborn OR Aloy is her own person and can be identified as daughter of Elizabeth only aloy was born centuries after her death and on a machine's womb.
Jay Zie How could she be 99.96% geneticly like Elizabeth If she was not a clone? Besides, It is stated in the game the project for Alpha clones (stated multiple times).
you said it yourself she's 99.96% lol
Jay Zie you really have no idea How cloning Works, do you?
What other mammal reprodutive method could make a 99.9% similar genetic? And It is stated in many parts of the game about the Alpha cloning project.
thank you! thats all i needed after taking a long break from the game and forgot most of it :)
Banuk????
Banuk, That's Easy
Very well done!! Loved it haha
