HI new sub here just found you from watching Arbroath fishing. I have mobility problems and fish with an ex army pal in this area , not having much luck this year but after viewing your videos I think we need to do a switch up. Bigger baits and also try out your bait dropper. Try catterline bay just south of Stonehaven bit snaggy on low water but gets better as tide comes in. Tight lines.
Hey buddy hope you're well,, was just watching the film again and the boy Robert Gallagher that said a few things,, he is pretty much the top boy for the area if not top he's right up there for years and takes his fishing very serious his understanding and knowledge of the area and how to fish is really quite ridiculous his list of fishing achievements goes on and on and it's all by the old fashioned way checking places on large springs but the guy is major for his knowledge,,👍🎣
First of all merry Christmas mate hope you and the family have a good one, and as always another cracking video mate and that new camera is quality mate. Well done on the fish.
Merry Christmas mate. Class fishing and the editing is on point! My van is nearly on the road... Just got to sort a few minor issues then I will be paying you a visit
Nice one mate 🎣👍 nice codling 👍 I've never fished arbroath yet but might make a trip up during the holidays 🎣 Cheers for all the videos throughout the year 🎣 Merry Christmas & all the best for the New Year mate 🥃🥃 Regards Arnie
Hi Stew, youve probably been asked this a million times already but do you make those sinkers you use with the built in bait clip yourself. Cant seem to find them any anywhere.
Aye fair enough for during the day,, im not a fan of the harbour myself although it does throw good fish out at times but so does the rest of the place i call it the grandad mark or for folk who don't want to walk climb 😂 those other 2 marks can fish really well on the right day,, merry Christmas bro 🔥👍
Got to give it to you Stewart most people wouldn’t have got out of the car in those conditions let alone go to 3 marks, you deserve every single one of those fish very well done.
The state of sea angling in the social media era. Thats a mark many locals never knew about for years and now we have people turning up to the area for their first trip being put on it. The journey to becoming an angler these days is going to be a long one if thats how you are all learning. The whole area has been fishing poor for the last 5 years in comparison to how it can fish, think only 4 over 5lb hooked by 2 of us out of 68 fish, the majority being sub 2lb on a trip last week. The short cuts will get you a few extra fish you might not have got without them but they won't pay off every time.
I put lots of effort in, 3 years ago I travelled to North wales to scope tope marks with no intention to fish and that’s what I did. 3 days of walking all the headlands, jotting down when the tide looked like it was slack. However, Arbroath everything is already online unfortunately! Still gotta go and catch the fish though. I’d say I do ok!
@@zulcronsports I'm not questioning your effort but you are running around off the back of what others are catching all around the country instead of finding your own way. That seems to be the way today and maybe it's changed for good but there's a reason lots of the matches down your neck of the woods are still won by people that built their experience all or mostly pre internet. You stated on film you turned up to a mark a mate told you to fish and where to cast, that makes you a winder inner on the day, you didn't catch the fish, you wound them in. When you get the difference you will be well on your way to being where you want to be. I love the Naivety of youth in the statement "Arbroath, everything is already online". Not even 10% of it is online. The people that know what they are doing up here aren't handing out info willy nilly to people they don't know in an attempt to look like they know what they are talking about. You missed the main feature on that mark you were fishing at the start and it would take a fair few sessions on a variety of tides and conditions to really start getting the best out of it. I've stood there and had twenty when 3 next to me couldn't get ten between them, same on the sandy beach you were on, more than once. The difference between thinking you know and really knowing doesn't have any short cuts. After all that it's great to see a young lad with some serious commitment to his fishing, you will definitely get there especially if you fish the comps in your neck of the woods, you will learn more doing that in five years than doing anything else.
@@robertgallacher7214 I get ya mate, you’re absolutely right there is a difference between thinking out know and actually knowing, I don’t doubt that. I personally don’t fish cod matches I don’t have the time to go collect my own bait etc and I think to compete you need to have the best of the best. I’m a pure pleasure fisherman (for now) maybe when I change my job things maybe different.
@@zulcronsports Do you keep a diary ? Nothing too detailed. Tide, weather, conditions and moon phase. Will add a lot to your fishing. You in any of the clubs down there ? Every single one of them have top notch anglers in them that can hold their own with anyone in the country, another great way to build good knowledge fast. Have a good end to the winter,it only takes one special one to make it a great one.
