Hey friend! When I’m resealing tanks and replacing frames, I use a thin disposable razor that you can extend. I use it to cut the silicone on both the inside and outside. Once doing that it should break free kinda easy.
Hi Ben, With your empty tanks run a sharp blade up inside the rim and outside then hit it. By just hitting it you’re fighting against a lot of silicon. Great tanks enjoyed the tour. Regards Duzzy🇦🇺
Thanks DuzzyDobbin! It doesn’t say to do that in the “Over the Edge” instruction video, but it makes sense and certainly worth trying before scrapping the entire project.
I've never removed a rim from a tank but aren't they silicone on somewhat? Did you cut the bead of silicone from the inside? I might even try and cut near a corner of the plastic with a razor blade, just make several cuts slowly until you break through the plastic and then you'd have something to get ahold of. Just food for thought since I haven't done it myself.
Hey Ben! Its that time of year my friend, and I was curious if you or any subscribers were planning on giving any "Hobby" gifts this year? Fish, plants, food, tanks, etc?? Im giving my Aunt a little 10G with some Neon & Ember Tetra, a koi betta, and a couple snails as my secret Santa gift. (So much for that $25 limit 😂) Really its for all of my cousins kids to enjoy. My aunt has managed to keep a betta alive in a little 2.5g for over a year now, and all 9 of those kids love that fish to death even though he just stays in the corner. Figured it was time for her to get an upgrade, and I'm getting her through the hard part. I used seeded sand/rocks/fake plants and the HOB from my 10g thats been rolling over a year. Going to be hard to give it away because its quite cute, maybe they'll tell me know and I can hand her a $20 😅😅 Sorry for the book Ben, hope you and the fam had a good turkey day and are ready for a good Christmas. Thanks for keeping us entertained during the busy season .
Also I didn't know if it would be alright to email you a little video to get your opinion? Believe I have the correct address from winning an Aquar Co op gift card a couple years back.
As always, another great show, you have the best fishy show on RUclips

Thank you very much!
Not in TN but I could use a few plecos.....LOL
Some cory cats would look real nice in your community tank.

With the closing up of Elite Cichlids, do you have another recommended place for aquarium plants for African Cichlid tanks?
You should heat that room instead of the individual tanks, it would use much less energy. A mini split would really be the way to go, just saying...
On the 2025 list…
Wow that guy is a Brut my one yellow lab Diggs really bad
