This is one of my all time favorite movies. Charlton Heston and Susan Hayward both deserved an oscar for their performances in this movie.

A fine fictionalized account of the Jackson story that glosses over the truth. They got the names right but little else. This treatment was not unusual in so called biographical films up through the early seventies. Still worth watching.

This movie speaks of courage! I wish the First Lady had the boldness to outrun her enemies! That she did not let them kill her! Suppose she had the strength to ignore their accusations, what a better support could she give to the President!

Love the movie & actors but the real Andrew Jackson had some major issues. Indian Removal Act for one.

6 foot one was tall for a man from that time period! So he did have great height! But he did have problems such as the Trail Of Tears that he is responsible for because it was Genocide! And there were of course other problems of his taking the law into his own hands!
