The reason Yuno can do damage to the devil was not because of the white light surrounding him. He acquired the power to do that when he created his sword using the magic from lumiere and Licht that was in the air. Those two could hurt the devil, so creating the sword out of their magic, he was able to hurt the devil. So now he has the power to fight the devil.
