Tried this recipe over the weekend and it was fabulous. Yeeessss, its a lot of steps but like Candy said its worth the effort. Normally, i would have left the thyme stalk, celery etc but i like the idea of using them to create a broth and then straining them out. I normally also leave the pumpkin to melt I followed Candy’s recipe to the letter and it did result in a more smooth texture. Loved it! Any new cook can follow this recipe - its very clear and informative - and will get perfect results every time. Thank you Candy!!

Candy, this is "our time of the year"! Besides sweet potato pie and/or fruit cake.....who does it better? I LOVE savory provisions! People try, but so often "over SALT" their food! We need to show folk how to "over herb their food"! Better for you and "Taste Gdeliciousness

You sure can. Make sure it's not too soft or else all your meat will become mushy floating around in the soup.
