Welcome to the journaling community! I used to make RUclips videos but fell out when I got overwhelmed with journaling and videoing and editing. I've recently started making TikToks. The short form is better for me right now because I don't have to put as much time into a 1 or 2-minute video as I did for something that was almost 30 minutes. The only thing I would comment on is the amount of times you say "uhm"... It's a lot. And I don't mean this rude at all, as someone with ADHD and allows my thoughts to filter faster than my mouth can produce, I also use filler words, and I hope when I finally get brave enough to finally start my own channel - someone would tell me if my ADHD is out of hand in my videos. Truly, if I could private message you I would have done that rather than a private platform. It was just very distracting from your beautiful artwork and it may just be me that can't focus for anything, I just wanted to comment on it because I also notice it in myself. I love chatty videos so I do hope you continue to do these!

20:00 hobonichi does have an all black leather cover called the "ts basic." i don't see a lot of people using it but my partner has it in the a5 size and i have it in the a6 size and we both love it!

i love people that use the cousin because y'all are so much stronger than me, that much blank space is too daunting for me and i would just end up never doing anything 😭 for 2024 i just got the weeks and i also realized that's not enough for me (school + work + personal gets way too muddled in that small of a book, especially since there's no daily pages); so for 2025 i ordered the weeks + a6 techo :D they should be coming tomorrow hopefully and i'm so excited !!! I’m struggling a lot with my planner/journal set up because I forget to use them so easily even though I need them. I’m making my own Frankenstein planner (which I got fixated on making to the point of burnout) This video feels like a breath of fresh air/step back ❤

Roughly 20:00 - You said you really dislike the blue inside the cover for your Avech. My artsy side is thinking it would look cool if you painted it with some really good black acrylic. Even if you don't make it a solid black inside, specks of the blue peeking out would make for a cool look. Just a thought.
@@lexandlorex that is an excellent point I did not think of....I have textures issues but it's with food. One of my girls has clothing texture issues. I have vision issues, so my hands love textures. If I can love textures, though, that also means that textures can bother others.
I loved all of your journals! Junk journal and thought dumping is my go-to deal although I do have a weeks for appointments and work related tasks. (: I only recently converted to the hobonichi lifestyle lmao for 2025 I bought an a6 hobonichi avec! and I'm also like black-on-black aesthetics kind of guy and I'm BUMMED about the blue on the inside of the cover but I didn't want to invest on the more expensive covers until I was 100% on the format/journaling style. 🙃

I felt a lot of this! I also am just starting out with planners and stuff. I started down the rabbit hole of digital planners which in turn gave me physical planners and yea. I was able to find a Hobonichi weeks 2024 on amazon last week and picked that up. so Ive been using it the past few days or so. BUT i also ordered the same Weeks that you have from Hobonichi directly for 2025 lol. Im using all the empty spots in the 2024 as places to try different layouts, if im not feeling 1 or wanna see what it will be like before i put it in the current months stuff. I also just found a pocket dotted journal and added that to my system, just now lol. Thinking bout turning that into a media journal type situation. Since im not much of a writer/brain dump/journaler (is that a word. doesnt sound like a word). Look forward to seeing what you do and i hope both of us keep up with this. Cuz the happy chemicals that it has given me lately, ugh. NEEDED!
omg do you know the weeks has a mega version that has nearly 300 blank pages in the back instead of the 72? when you showed your diy weeks and then the field notes also mimicking the weeks blank page format i was like oh she's going to combine the two and use the weeks next year and it'll all be in one book but when you showed the cousin i was like oh nooooo 😅 idk if the space you needed is technically a bigger format or just more pages, because if its just not having enough pages i think you really should get a mega weeks as you said the weekly layout really clicked and it will match your current journaling style too and i believe you will be much happier in it than trying to adapt to a totally differnt layout after really resonating with the weeks one. also if you do need the weeks in a bigger format, traveler's makes weekly inserts and they have one in the same hobo weeks format called "memo weeks" i believe and you could get one undated or right now would be the time to get the dated ones and then just use a blank grid layout insert for the journaling and keep replacing that as you fill them up which is also an option to keep the same layout format as you currently have been using ❤️

I use an Hp envy printer & a canon ivy mini printer! All the pictures in that spread were just on cheap sticker paper from Amazon with my hp printer!
