I shamefully admit that the first time I saw Nina I felt proud thinking I had found Vilen Borshevik and I even believed every single word of what Herlock was saying xD
“Shut down the engines immediately! Vessel sighted quarter mile fore!” “They’ve found us! Mr. Naruhodo is all your fault! I told you not to say my name!”
Pacques Jortsman~ also I love that you butted in when Naruhodo said switching the initials wasn't very original. Fourth wall be damned, he sure got you there. XD
Honestly, this take of the case before Nina's coverup dismantles is really curious but amazing, along with the "Holmes" joke going that far. 3:13 The way Ryuunosuke and Susato pose here is simply a splendid sight. Like two partners facing the revelations with confidence (or at least one of the does it).
Y'know, the funny thing is that officially as of January of...last year apparently, Sherlock Holmes is now finally public domain. That's right. The Doyle Estate can't do anything about it anymore. The name and it's stories are free to use by anyone these days. But of course now that Herlock Sholmes has become such a beloved name within the Ace Attorney community and it's been long enough that the name fits well enough with Capcom's unique depiction of Sherlock Holmes, there's simply no reason to revert the name back.
While Sherlock Holmes is in the public domain the Doyle estate still control adaptations of the original stories. Since this case is basically a loose adaptation of The Speckled Band, Takumi had to go with the Maurice LeBlanc spelling.
@@alessapisiconeri Sherlock Holmes himself has been in the public domain since 1998, but his last stories by Conan Doyle finally joined him in January 2023. He is now fully public domain instead of partially. Though that's still 2 years later than the US release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Thus, Herlock Sholmes he will stay.
HAHA this was very funny. I love how smug Ryunosuke was and how he basically voiced what we all thought about Sholmes name at first. You did a great job, cant wait for the next part!
I finished TGAA1 like 2 days ago and now Sholmes has become one of my favourite characters in any video game ever, truly the smartest idiot to ever exist
That was AMAZING! I loved it! I can't *wait* to see Ryunosuke speaking what he truly thinks at Barok van Zieks and then getting a boot to his face lol.
Excellent video! Top notch Ryunosuke and Sholmes funny, while characterizing sholmes excellently. Only think is, Im pretty happy herlock was named Sherlock sholmes and not the original. It makes him more of a distinct unique character to TGAAC rather than an iteration of another. After all, the differences are numerous, it was obviously not meant to be a canon interpretation of sherlock, but this allows him to be a true TGAAC character.
Many thanks And, well, the fact alone that he was named Herlock just to avoid copyright infringement confrontation with the Doyle Estate makes me not want the Herlock name anymore xD (even though Herlock makes him much more distinguished than his original counterpart)
Just got notified right now, it's a shame that I somehow still haven't played TGAAC yet though to watch it, but I'm sure it's great already, so I'll keep it here till I finish haha (Let's just ignore that I have an exam tomorrow anyway to begin with)
I missed pure comedy too ngl. View-wise this vid might be doing worse than any other vid of mine over the past months, but at least making it made me happy xD
i love this, it says everything i wanna say and makes it actually believable, like it'd be in the game i wonder if there are any actual ace attorney mods?
Also while Herlock Sholmes is a genius when it comes to inventions and stuff, he was kind of dumb in the Great Deductions parts of the investigations, but this video makes Ryunosuke seem to make Herlock Sholmes even more stupid than he seemd to be in the actual games. This video is still funny though. Just like when Ryunosuke and Hosonaga invented full body searches including in Jezaille Brett's underwear in Ryunosuke's trial for the murder of John Wilson back in the first case and prove Jezaille Brett concealed a gun in there and that she was the real murderer of John Wilson.
So, Naruhodou agreed with my opinion on the name, but then he slipped up at the end 😂 But seriously, as much as I like the both DGS Games, I didn't like this case very much. Holmes' introduction was good, but Susato tossing Ryuunosuke over the whole case in nearly every conversation got annoying quickly, and it didn't help she continued this even in following cases. 🙄 Additionally, the assault on Asougi could have been prevented if the culprit just waited a few seconds. For the letter swapping, I somehow came up with a pun for a certain annoying character in AAI1: "ya lease the cow" Y A L I S T E C O W (I don't think it's too difficult to guess which character I meant) 😁. Feel free to use this when Edgeworth meets *her* in a Future Video 😂
To be fair, as far as I remember susato only really tossed ryunosuke a bunch of times at the very beginning of the case. Aside from that, the tosses were very rare throughout the rest of the series.
One complaint: Susato uses Japanese honorifics (eg. "Sholmes-sama") when referring to Sholmes and Roylott, which isn't done in the game while referring to non-Japanese characters. (She always just calls Sholmes "Mr. Sholmes".)
She calls him Mr. Sholmes only in the English localisation. In the original japanese she calls Sholmes "Holmes-sama". It's not that I've made a mistake, I actually actively chose to mix between the two 😜
(4 days late, I know, but I'm commenting now, heh) Honestly speaking, I didn't think Roylott was actually Bolshevik, but when I first saw Bolshevik in the newspaper, I thought maybe he'd appear in the case, and (laugh at this if you wish) I thought that Roylott was maybe his brother or something under a fake name.
Well, we'll see about it. Ryu speaks his thoughts series doesn't seem to do very well (easily the worst start in a video of mine over the past 5 months xD) but I still enjoyed working on it, so part 3 might come sooner than later
I shamefully admit that the first time I saw Nina I felt proud thinking I had found Vilen Borshevik and I even believed every single word of what Herlock was saying xD
Bro I did the same thing 🤣
Same three
Too much mainline Ace Attorney convinced me of the same thing
I also thought that, you can't describe in words how surprised I was when I saw the golden hair
Why admit something so relatable with shame?
Remember everyone, crying can and will get you out of murder accusations.
“Shut down the engines immediately! Vessel sighted quarter mile fore!”
“They’ve found us! Mr. Naruhodo is all your fault! I told you not to say my name!”
Lmfao no one escapes the Doyle Estate's wrath even after Sherlock has become public
Pacques Jortsman~
also I love that you butted in when Naruhodo said switching the initials wasn't very original. Fourth wall be damned, he sure got you there. XD
It was a literal revelation on my part the moment I wrote his line, I legit went "HEY" xD

No dance of deduction 😞
In all seriousness, this is a great vid! You're really doing the TGAA community a favor with all this TGAA content! :D
TGAA deserves the attention just for introducing us to Herlock alone xD
@@debastiansebesteFr tho.
This is kind of "Ryunosuke Smart" when you really think about it, lol.
2:20 No Naruhodo, you mustn't! The Doyle estate will be after you otherwise, and lack of money from your student debt will be the last of problems!
Imagine Ryunosuke going broke because of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and having to escape and change his identity to Wright xD
I finished TGAA1 like 2 days ago and now Sholmes has become one of my favourite characters in any video game ever, truly the smartest idiot to ever exist
Same here, the moment I started playing TGAA I had no idea he'd climb my favs ranks so quickly but here we are xD

Well done, Debs. I think Whoenix Pright and Eiles Mdgeworth are proud of you)
Wow this was a much better reaction of Runo realizing that his best friend is dead. If only he actually showed this much emotion in the game
Seeing Ryunosuke and Susato side by side i can say they both resemble phoenix a lot
Not the kristoph earthquake sfx while naruhodo goes to point at roylott
Nyunosuke Raruhodou

It's... It's just awesome. Thank you again, Debastian!
Pikolina Navlova heh
Seriously tho that was amazing
You made my day with this vid
I missed some pure comedy on your channel
Cant wait for next vid

Yes!! I really wanted more TGAA vids man, for me one of the best games I ever played. And again a wonderful masterpiece of yours. Happy New Years!
This was a fun video to watch. Got nothing much to add aside from enjoying the interactions between these characters. Here’s to a strong new year!
Ryunosuke do be trying to speedrun
Well... that was chaotic.
i love this, it says everything i wanna say and makes it actually believable, like it'd be in the game
i wonder if there are any actual ace attorney mods?
Mods as in to change the course of action in the games? No idea, but I guess it's worth looking into
Someone is trying a romhack for AJ
OOOOH NOW I UNDERSTAND THE JORTSMAN THING FROM THAT EARLIER REPLY OF YOURS
lol this make my new year great
