The facial reactions to each others top 10s are really funny Sam’s love for Ark Nova is intoxicating. I just bought a second hand copy that came with Marine Worlds and I’m so excited to get it to the table.
Gwlady, if you haven’t yet, you should really check out Isle of Cats! It has similarities to so many in your top 10. Very cute, Very fun. Sam, love your picks. You got 5 or 6 of my faves too. If you like Agricola (my personal #1) you should check out Lords of Waterdeep. Fantastic worker placement game with two awesome expansions.
Isle of Cats is one of the first board games we discovered. I still enjoy it a lot! I believe Gwladys feels the same. I have heard good things about Lords of Waterdeep but have never had the chance to play it yet. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yes, I do love IoC, probs close to my top 20. My tastes fluctuate a lot but it mixes 2 things I really like: card drafting (IAWW 🤷♀️) and tile placement! I think we haven't played in a while cause it takes a little while to play but I still like it very much.
I do like solo and coop games a lot! It's especially great on BGA when you have just 5 minutes to kill, you start a solo room of a game and play it, no need to wait for your opponent to have a turn. And then you're done! Actually, Cosmoctopus can be played competitive or coop and I prefer it coop/solo because beating the Private Investigator (AI) is SO hard. It's a very nice puzzle and challenge. I do believe that sometimes it's nearly unwinnable though with the cards we get or the setup board but we still try no matter what! It's nice to play it at 2p imo. You guys just brainstorm okay I should do this but is it okay if I leave the pawn next to those resources for you? Should we refresh the river? Etc.
My sister used to be the one in our family that was the most opposed to play games (except Set, maybe because she just won every time). But this past year she started getting quite into it. Over christmas we all came together for a week, funnily enough my sister brought the most games. But unfortunately we didn't actually play that much, especially not Cascadia, which I now regret more after seeing it made both your lists! So I'm looking forward to play it at some point, boosted by this nice tier list
I feel like it is a common problem for all of us, board gamers. We bring too many games to play and then only have time to play like 3. If only we all had more time on our hands! But anyway, it's good that your sister is more into games. I hope you get to try Cascadia soon. It's such a simple game yet quite thinky and relaxing. Funnily enough, the first time we played, it was on Tabletop Simulator and our scores were something like 98 to 99 and Sam was really "meh" about it saying "It's just point salad". I've then played a lot of it solo online and it was such an easy game to just play when I had 10 min to kill. But now, it's made Sam's top as well! And I think everyone in our board game group likes it.

Always happy to see It's a Wonderful World on people's tops!! And you can do it, next year shall be the year! Once upon a time, my English was not good at all and see where I am now! I've just played lots of video games in English, watched movies in English (with English subtitles to hear the pronunciation and compare it with the spelling) and stuff like that. ☺️
No wonder I like watching you stream games, your top 10 is very similar to mine. 1. Agricola 2. Ark Nova 3. Dune Imperium 4. Gaia Project 5. 7 Wonders 6. Terraforming Mars 7. Viticulture (Tuscany) 8. Azul 9. Scythe 10. Wingspan
We discovered a game like Clank with a fun theme called The Hunger. You play as vampires out hunting but must get back to the castle before the sun comes up. It’s by Richard Garfield and came out several years ago.
Yes the Hunger is similar to Clank!. I've mentioned it to Sam a few times but the only place we could play it is on Game Park which is not great. I'm not big on Clank! At all anyway lol But I personally like the concept of the vampires that want to suck blood as much as possible but that clogs their deck at the same time. It's clever.
I definitely agree with Harmonies, this was my board game discovery of the year. I don't get 'It's a Wonderful World' though, I played it once and found it quite uninteresting. I love Ark Nova as well.
@ I find IAWW fairly simple but with a lot of depth to make combos and stuff. On top of that, it's very fast paced.☺️ But it's okay, not everyone has to like all the same games. If you didn't enjoy it, you shouldn't waste your time playing it. We only have so much time playing games we enjoy!

The results are beautiful, and the origami are cheap (only buying cardstock) and very sturdy. Go to the channel's playlist and find "Gwladys' origami tutorials". It's the draw deck episode (I think 7 or 8 from memory). I made a larger draw deck with a small divider in the middle. ☺️
