Outstanding job with the modding Paul! Absolutely nailed the look of Lucy. Been anticipating the les Paul since the sg video and you did not disappoint. Really enjoyed seeing how you converted the les Paul to the 58 spec and different parts you used. Definitely reckon the mods were worth it and it looks absolutely fantastic!
As someone who has just recently taken an interests in mods and upgrades, I really appreciate you including specific part/model #/etc. It can be a bit overwhelming at times trying to find the right parts and replacements. Love George Harrison and all things Beatles - liked & subscribed! Cheers!
I picked up a red 2020 Gibson Classic Les Paul and am doing a conversion on it. I bought a truss rod cover that says "Lucy Revolution" to make it Custom. I mean it is my Lucy after all...
These projects are a lot of fun. While I might have done parts of it slightly differently, I appreciate you going to the trouble to put the whole thing and the video together. I didn't see if you put an aluminium tailpiece on it? It probably doesn't make that much difference but it's a fairly inexpensive vintage mode that saves a few grams and always feels cool when you have it off.
Great work! I've never been an LP fan, but they are definitely an essential for a well rounded studio/collection. I'm not sure I would have swapped the Nashville bridge for ABR-1, can't imagine there's much of a functional difference
That one was real easy. I just took factory bridge off, removed the bridge base plate, then just put the Sorkin right on. Not cutting or modifications needed!
@@guitargearconnection Thank you very much Paul, your advice is very helpful, but I have one last question, does the bridge stick, or is it pressed against the guitar strings?
How much was the guitar in the first place? $1300 at least. 600 for pickups ....i paid 80 for a pair of matched Duncans that were practically new with all the lead wire. My Les Paul is a kit. Im not paying for a gibson when i play Fenders mostly. The neck scale, pickups, amp and most immortality my fingers are going to make the most difference. I cant see how those gibson pickups are 500 dollars more pickup haha but if it makes you happy and happy makes you play well....go for it. My $300 investment in my hands going into my vintage Fender amps sounds as good as clapton or harrison tone wise...i can approximate their playing im not a tribute act but I do my thing and It sounds like a gibson les paul to me. Im not really trying to copy the Lucy lp i just wanted to have a LP influenced by it for some sort of theme but I went with Zebra pickups to match my Red Black white tan theme. My next plan is painting the headstock and filling the old tuning machine holes. Im considering a stinger too for fun . I just started test spraying out paints and clears yesterday to see how it looks on scrap wood. Its fun to mod but we don't have to buy 500 dollar pickups!! 80 bucks for Seymour Duncan match paired set no regrets.
Possibly. The only thing that’s keeping me away from those is the money. By the time I get one and mod it, I might as well save up a few hundred more for the TPP. It’s tough to say honestly.
It really was going to be! I planned on modding the new brown back Chinese versions that are out, but my local Guitar Center’s had a twisted neck. So I held off for now, but a Casino one is definitely in the near future!
@@guitargearconnection good to hear that, the epiphone casino was one of the beatles' favorite guitars and i was surprised not to see it in your collection. i will look forward to the video!! keep it up!
I have a 1960s vintage japanese made Casio clone by Ventura . it sounds awesome plays good still too. perfect for that era of beatles. Between that a tele strat and my Martin HD28 i can get most beatles guitar sounds. My Hofner bass too but I don't play that as much. Id suggest finding an old Ventura Casino copy for a few hundred bucks. the finish is right just the pickups and logo are a bit different.
Great work Paul!
Thanks Sam!!!!!!! ❤️
Great. Thanks for all the details. Amazing!🔥
Glad you liked it!

Thanks for that! Yeah me too I hate hunting everywhere & wish there was a place to get all the info lol. I’m glad my video was helpful!!!

Awesome video my friend. I am wanting to do this for when I purchase my first Les Paul.
Thank you! Send your video my way when you make it, I would love to watch it!
When is the Savoy Truffle cover coming 😂
Hahahah soon! My favorite song 🎧

Thank you! And fully agree, bridge swap is pointless, but gotta get the small details as close as possible 🤣
You could've still went with the Trad Pro V because the tradbuckers are basically custombuckers anyway
That's not the beginning.. The beginning is that it started out as John Sebastians guitar and was traded for an amp when his blew up!
Correct. I met John last summer and this was discussed. It was his guitar before Rick Derringer.
@@bobbelloff4588 Thank you! John always seems to be legit!👍
Paul, I have a question about a particular guitar, can you make a video on how to put the Sorkin bridge on the Rickenbacker 325? 😅😔

Hey! That looks great, Paul! If you’d started this project when the Custom Color Les Pauls came out, would you have used that instead?
