Water played a crucial role in the great circle of life. Not just for drinking, but most animals that the pride lived off of ate plants. These “royal dead guys” not only took away a source of water, but food as well. Either animals starved to death, or they left to find food elsewhere, or in Nala’s case, help. I can’t imagine Mufasa wanting his grieving widow Sarabi to deal with a food shortage. She already lost him, and believed her son was dead as well.

So, what the creators of the show say about how to interpret it must be accepted. On that note, I see the Lion Guard as a TV series that fills in the gaps and the background behind the Lion king films. It may seem like a light-hearted and fun tv show for children, but it has some very serious underlying themes such as conflict, tribalism and prejudice as well as repentance.
Personally I think the story with Mufasa and Scar’s father is my favorite with live action being my second favorite of the three. I wouldn’t have minded the Lion Guard’s so much if it wasn’t for the venom being such a big cause in his corruption because then it goes into something like a magical artifact is controlling the villain which really doesn’t work in this context with the og movie. But that’s a personal opinion based off of what I heard in both this video and other sources that aren’t the main source materials.
To be honest, I don’t really agree with the Lion Gaurd’s version, cause, like you said, the venom feels like it has magical properties. I also doubt that a snake bite could even make a scar like the one Scar got.
I wouldn’t really call it a “magical artifact”. Scar was poisoned, but was too stubborn to ever get any treatment from Rafiki, thinking he’d be stronger than the venom. And in the end he did survive it, but the snake’s venom warped his mind, made him more aggressive, turned him psychotic and crazy, and even more resentful towards his brother. A bit like how any of us can become sick and delusional if we get bitten by a poisonous animal, even go crazy from it
Every time a parent has a favorite between their children, the other is automatically the bad one... Of course Scar did a lot to be the villain in his own story, starting with his desire of power, but at my point of view everytime the sibling in the parent grace see the other condescendingly, a little bit of the other sibling goes beyond salvation.
Why does hearing the backstory laid out like this make me relate the lion brothers to Loki and Thor's relationship before the Avengers. I feel like Scar has a similar lot in life to Loki but handles it without Loki's charm.
I really enjoy this. This is very great and very nicely well done. Out of all the three legends behind how Scar got his scar and became the villain he was known to be, I would have to say that the one from "The Lion Guard" makes more sense given that it is Canon now that it has been revealed that Kion is one of Simba and Nala's sons along with Kopa despite him being Semi-Canon (Kopa is Canon on one half as defined by what Semi means). I really enjoy The Lion King, Isaac Carlson. I can't wait to see what other videos you will be publishing soon.

You know, actually, I already know how he gets his scar before without the scar, his name was Taka, he was the lion guards leader, he then saw a strange lion, he had a python friend and it bites Scar. Then he lost control and roared and destroyed them, he expected to be praised, near and far for stoping that thing, but Mufasa nickname him Scar, so he became Scar and he knew Mufasa must not be king! He asked his Lion Guard friends to defeat Mufasa but they refuse, he roared and destroyed them too. Also, he grew evil that time so he lost the Scar, the rest you can know for Lion King 1.
There was one that I remember where Ahadi gave Taka his scar because he apparently went down to the gorge with Uru only for Taka to return alone, enraging Ahadi and promptings I’m in a fit of rage to not only scar his youngest son but banish him in his grief. It would be during this time that he became acquainted with the hyenas and later Zira and her pride. It was only after Ahadi had stepped down as king did Mufasa look to bring Taka back. Now filled with ambition and rage, he was from then on addressed as Scar. Another version actually depicts Scar killing his father but I’m not the biggest fan of that. I like to think that Ahadi actually regretted what he did but was too ashamed to look Scar in the eyes again after hurting him. I also like an idea someone left where Scar may have been an incompetent hunter and one day while his mother is trying to teach him she’s attacked by some Buffalo, Wildebeest, or stampede and BMIs punished or that because his father specifically told Scar not to go out by himself since he wasn’t particularly capable of taken care of himself at a young age.

Taka - Trash Mufasa - Royalty Scar is so misunderstood,I know when he said he led the lion guard and saved his home,Mufasa just nicknamed him “Scar”. We should get a movie starring before Simba’s birth but during Scar and Mufasa’s life time. In Scar’s eyes everything was won over by his brother because he was royalty.
I never read the original books, but: I have watched The Lion Guard multiple times, and that is my headcanon. The live action movie looks great, but it doesn’t have the charm of the original.
I wish the live action remake did their version of how Scar got his scar as before the movie came out and this was actually before they showcased his design for the movie I thought they were going to go with his scar being a burn instead of a scratch as a result making the eye with the scar blinded similar to what they did with Shere Khan in the live action remake of the Jungle Book
It's ironic and just plain sad that Scar went through the trouble of usurping Mufasa's throne through regicide. Yet, once in power, he does absolutely nothing good for his kingdom as it was degrading from a beautiful paradise into a horrible wasteland. His perception of being king is entirely warped by jealousy, greed, and hate! Being a king in real life doesn't mean sitting on the throne and acting bossy! The king or queen is first and foremost a servant to their subjects, as the old saying goes, 'heavy the head that wears the crown! Showing only self-preservation and self-importance is the sign of a tyrant!
Ok so here’s my analysis of this. The first story from A Tale of Two Brothers is not bad. It gives him a name and it’s reasonable, but I don’t know how he’s escape a buffalo with just a scar on his eye (keep in mind I’ve never read it). The Lion Guard if I remember correctly is officially canon (though it’s probably gonna get discredited by the prequel that’s supposed to be coming), but I don’t like the story of Scar it gives. While it gives him a good reason to resent Mufasa, the whole thing with the snake was that it messed with Kion’s mind, and he’s lash out at his friends. It makes it seem like Scar isn’t evil, it’s just the venom. Now some people might like that, but for someone to do what he did and get killed for it, I don’t think that venom corrupting his mind is a good story. The last story that’s implied in the remake is the most reasonable theory. I really think it should’ve been the story all along. It’s probably gonna become canon with the prequel.

Here’s a theory the Disney universe and the Pixar universe are parallel to each other!! If all disney movies occur in the same timeline then that universe is parallel to the universe Pixar movies take place. I believe the show Sofia The First proves this. Thought Sofia’s amulet, Cinderella says the amulet connects all the princesses and on multiple occasions Sofia meets with the Disney princesses and also Olaf. Which proves those princesses are connected, (some Disney shows might not take place in the universe if the movies but I like to think at least STF does since characters from the movies show up all the time) and one princess that comes to visit Sofia is Merida. Now I personally believe that Sofia’s amulet makes the princesses being called in to help both teleport and time travel. Firstly they teleport from where ever they were to where Sofia is. Second they must time travel as not all princesses live in the same time as Sofia. Sofia lives in a world pre electricity while princesses like Tiana lives in the 1960s so they clearly time travel to Sofia’s time. Now Merida then must teleport from the Pixar universe to the Disney one to be able to meet with Sofia which means their universes are parallel to each other and clearly connected as the amulet calls Merida specially. Since it connects all princesses in multiple universes.
The 2019 film is such a messed up take on how he got his scar. Implied that Mufasa is responsible after his brother challenged him. Now he forever is named Scar as a reminder that Mufasa beat him.

i like the lion guard one the best scar was always wanting power so the venom didnt make him evil when he got it he didnt fight it, it just enhanced his darkness. when kion got it he fought it and tried to remain who he was as kion wasnt evil at heart, he got help and over came it.
I like all three, and like you pointed out, Scar's scar had triggered the lion's emotions which made him as he is. If there's something lacking from Scar's backstory in The Lion Guard, it'll be a deeper backstory. Scar, in the eyes of everyone, was always made to be a sympathetic villain. A mere triggering of a venomous snake bite and an insult of his brother is not enough to drive him to murder. For Scar to be more reasonable, there's gotta be some trauma down the line or family issues other than his brother. A Tale of Two Brothers is perfect, and it was matched to a timeline where his and Mufasa's mother, Queen Uru, is gone. This could lead up to questions on how was the queen's relationship with her sons. Is she like Ahadi? Does she favor any of her sons? Does she treat them equally? Does she spend enough time with them? Did she noticed her youngest son's change of will and heart? The hint in the live-action is driven by desire. Desire for power, and desire for love. Idk about the person who's reading this, but I think this could be connected somehow to A Tale of Two Brothers. This showed a more sympathetic side of Scar which made him very desirable as a traumatized lion with a sympathetic backstory and a very messed up life. Another one could be the fact that Scar was meant to be born evil. This trope came from a show in the other network (Nickelodeon) on which the younger sibling was meant to be bad, and is turning out like her corrupt father even at such a young age. This is seen in a lot of comics in RUclips, as Scar befriended hyenas ever since he's young, and everything starts to fall down once a hint of jealousy toward his older brother appeared. Either way, all has pros and cons
No way, Scar is not meant to be sympathetic. In fact, he's beyond it with his evil actions, becoming a villain everyone love to hate in their eyes, a hate sink if you will. Disney never thinks of making him sympathetic at all. The venom did not create his evil instincts, but revealed them, not to mention he has shown taking great pleasure in what he did both in the original film and in the series itself, so Scar is not tragic in the slightest. How I take it is the buffalo one is the rumor that was told, the snake venom is the actual one, since Scar himself tells him how he got his scar, and the Live Action one is just Scar saying "again" because Scar originally tried to challenge Mufasa with the roar, but lost it when he killed the Lion Guard for not supporting him.

There were no lions in the outlands until Lion King 2 because those lions were followers of Scar who were banished after his defeat. 3. A better story would be Scar being at odds with his family because he looked and acted like his grandfather (who for story sake would say was more of a dictator). Being an outcast ended up playing with hyena cubs opening scar to be manipulated by a alpha hyena to unintentionally harm his father. Scar wasn't as distant from his brother but when he reveals scars playmates were hyenas and that he was spending time with one of his fathers sworn enemies. Thinking scar was plotting something his father over reacts, and ends up creating scar.

I wish the live action remake did their version of how Scar got his scar as before the movie came out and this was actually before they showcased his design for the movie I thought they were going to go with his scar being a burn instead of a scratch as a result making the eye with the scar blinded similar to what they did with Shere Khan in the live action remake of the Jungle Book

It's ironic and just plain sad that Scar went through the trouble of usurping Mufasa's throne through regicide. Yet, once in power, he does absolutely nothing good for his kingdom as it was degrading from a beautiful paradise into a horrible wasteland. His perception of being king is entirely warped by jealousy, greed, and hate! Being a king in real life doesn't mean sitting on the throne and acting bossy! The king or queen is first and foremost a servant to their subjects, as the old saying goes,
'heavy the head that wears the crown! Showing only self-preservation and self-importance is the sign of a tyrant!

Ok so here’s my analysis of this. The first story from A Tale of Two Brothers is not bad. It gives him a name and it’s reasonable, but I don’t know how he’s escape a buffalo with just a scar on his eye (keep in mind I’ve never read it). The Lion Guard if I remember correctly is officially canon (though it’s probably gonna get discredited by the prequel that’s supposed to be coming), but I don’t like the story of Scar it gives. While it gives him a good reason to resent Mufasa, the whole thing with the snake was that it messed with Kion’s mind, and he’s lash out at his friends. It makes it seem like Scar isn’t evil, it’s just the venom. Now some people might like that, but for someone to do what he did and get killed for it, I don’t think that venom corrupting his mind is a good story. The last story that’s implied in the remake is the most reasonable theory. I really think it should’ve been the story all along. It’s probably gonna become canon with the prequel.

Here’s a theory the Disney universe and the Pixar universe are parallel to each other!! If all disney movies occur in the same timeline then that universe is parallel to the universe Pixar movies take place. I believe the show Sofia The First proves this. Thought Sofia’s amulet, Cinderella says the amulet connects all the princesses and on multiple occasions Sofia meets with the Disney princesses and also Olaf. Which proves those princesses are connected, (some Disney shows might not take place in the universe if the movies but I like to think at least STF does since characters from the movies show up all the time) and one princess that comes to visit Sofia is Merida. Now I personally believe that Sofia’s amulet makes the princesses being called in to help both teleport and time travel.
Firstly they teleport from where ever they were to where Sofia is. Second they must time travel as not all princesses live in the same time as Sofia. Sofia lives in a world pre electricity while princesses like Tiana lives in the 1960s so they clearly time travel to Sofia’s time.
Now Merida then must teleport from the Pixar universe to the Disney one to be able to meet with Sofia which means their universes are parallel to each other and clearly connected as the amulet calls Merida specially. Since it connects all princesses in multiple universes.

I like all three, and like you pointed out, Scar's scar had triggered the lion's emotions which made him as he is. If there's something lacking from Scar's backstory in The Lion Guard, it'll be a deeper backstory.
Scar, in the eyes of everyone, was always made to be a sympathetic villain. A mere triggering of a venomous snake bite and an insult of his brother is not enough to drive him to murder. For Scar to be more reasonable, there's gotta be some trauma down the line or family issues other than his brother.
A Tale of Two Brothers is perfect, and it was matched to a timeline where his and Mufasa's mother, Queen Uru, is gone. This could lead up to questions on how was the queen's relationship with her sons. Is she like Ahadi? Does she favor any of her sons? Does she treat them equally? Does she spend enough time with them? Did she noticed her youngest son's change of will and heart?
The hint in the live-action is driven by desire. Desire for power, and desire for love. Idk about the person who's reading this, but I think this could be connected somehow to A Tale of Two Brothers. This showed a more sympathetic side of Scar which made him very desirable as a traumatized lion with a sympathetic backstory and a very messed up life.
Another one could be the fact that Scar was meant to be born evil. This trope came from a show in the other network (Nickelodeon) on which the younger sibling was meant to be bad, and is turning out like her corrupt father even at such a young age. This is seen in a lot of comics in RUclips, as Scar befriended hyenas ever since he's young, and everything starts to fall down once a hint of jealousy toward his older brother appeared.
Either way, all has pros and cons

No way, Scar is not meant to be sympathetic. In fact, he's beyond it with his evil actions, becoming a villain everyone love to hate in their eyes, a hate sink if you will. Disney never thinks of making him sympathetic at all. The venom did not create his evil instincts, but revealed them, not to mention he has shown taking great pleasure in what he did both in the original film and in the series itself, so Scar is not tragic in the slightest. Also, his canon Lion Guard backstory is fine enough as it is and he's always jealous of Mufasa and wants the throne for himself even before he got his scar. Cares only for himself and no one else.

How I take it is the buffalo one is the rumor that was told, the snake venom is the actual one, since Scar himself tells him how he got his scar, and the Live Action one is just Scar saying "again" because Scar originally tried to challenge Mufasa with the roar, but lost it when he killed the Lion Guard for not supporting him.

1. He didn't get a slash from a snake bite because that's not how snake bites work, what the hell are you talking about?
2. There were no lions in the outlands until Lion King 2 because those lions were followers of Scar who were banished after his defeat.
3. The snake poisons Scar and the other lion tells him that he will get the antidote if he helps with the plan because I guess this lion has a chemistry set. Scar doesn't help him and...is fine...must be a slow acting poison.
Scar is my favorite villain and Disney Character along with Zira. They are amazing my second favorite villain is Ursula.

A better story would be Scar being at odds with his family because he looked and acted like his grandfather (who for story sake would say was more of a dictator). Being an outcast ended up playing with hyena cubs opening scar to be manipulated by a alpha hyena to unintentionally harm his father. Scar wasn't as distant from his brother but when he reveals scars playmates were hyenas and that he was spending time with one of his fathers sworn enemies. Thinking scar was plotting something his father over reacts, and ends up creating scar.
Haven't watxhed the video yet. Just came here to say that I think Scar's version from Lion Guard 3 is the real one. First of all, it's told by Scar himself. And all the effort he goes through to give Kion that scar and the later effect the scar has on Kion proves that Scar's probably not lying
