Thats a hell of a bit of kit! I need to look at those slop bushes, I'm not a fan of my current feel. I quite like the idea of the short throw too, but definitely the 40 quid option ;) You'll be storming through the gears when that beast is fitted.
Haha yeah it was a bit of an impulse buy, wanted one for years since first seeing them in an old megane 225 f1, then after going in a friends race car that got me looking haha, yeah the slop bush will make a big difference, few videos on yt about fitting them too
Great video dude, something we have been talking about for months. Now you are forcing us to spend money, you are definitely to blame haha. Congratulations to Dave on winning the mirror caps
Thanks buddy, yes it’s exactly the same for me, I’ve been looking at it for ages just decided to finally take the plunge 😂 Thanks for donating this months giveaway prize 👌🏻
I recently got the WG MOTORPARTS one off ebay £40. Makes a missive difference. Feels lots more solid. I previously had a bit of a crunch going into 2nd when car was cold and found when fitting this One of the linkages on the gearbox was dry so all greased up at the same time and its perfect.
Always nice to hear from People with first hand experience of a product so thanks for that buddy 👍🏻 Yeah modding and repairing cars always leads you to find other issues that require attention along the way 😂😂
Thanks Frank, im hoping to get this shifter in soonish so hopefully if anyone attends meets they can see it, feel it etc obviously those who are uk based haha thanks for watching
You should be able to get them in the states yes, however fitting might be a little bit more complicated as your brakes and everything are on that side
Great video again dom, i put a forge one on my mk4 golf gti, makes it more for a nicer gear change . 5speed one is slightly different, terrible only having 5gears lol 😆.
Better in a race, crap for economy haha. The first gear in a 6 speed is a waste of time usually 😂😂. Yeah I had a forge one about 10 years ago in my Leon 20v was great fun
@@TheParrottBros yeah.. £50 with transfer box! From a really nice guy in Bristol who was having a clear out and doesn't really need the money, just wanted the space. My mate we're 'bubbling with' happens to work round the corner from him so picked up and brought it down.. at least something went right! 😂👍
For some it will be your right, for others they like a shorter throw or a shift tower for track use / racing etc as with buckets and harnesses on the shifter is too low
Now, this is fiddling for fiddlings sake IMHO. :-) Like my red footwell lighting mod, or my reversing camera mod, or my twin brake light mod, or..... okay, each to their own. :-)
@@TheParrottBros :-) I said to Bryn that I noticed he was closing up on you, subcribers-wise. He felt you had a facial hair advantage that he couldn't compete with, which was very gallant of him. The bearded brothers of tt repairs haha, Bryn creates some of the best videos but often they are ones that people watch when stuck / in need, they watch the video to complete the issue they have and then go. Such an underrated Channel and will continue climbing for years
Great video, took you advice and installed a short shifter, what different👍😊
Amazing glad you put the video to good use 👌🏻
Do love the cooler works. Really popular in the mini world
I’m not surprised they are cheaper than the cae and work just as well

Dude I just saw Donutmedia's video about short shifters and was wondering about them in a mk1 tt.. 2 min later, there you are .. 😂
We aim to please 😂😂 how’s that for timing ayy!

Going to try this. My 2nd also stiff on cold startup
I agree on the location of the stock shifter, it's way to far away. I do like the amount of throw it has stock though.
Its not a bad throw its just a little too far away if your taller than say 5ft 5 haha
@@TheParrottBros As a 5ft 4in Audi TT owner' I think it's location is just fine lol.
@@OldManShoutsAtClouds Glad to hear it, im sure i just have short arms haha
Awesome video buddy very informative and gave me something to think about in terms of next mods 😎👍🏼

Nice one mate would love to see this in the flesh ❤️
Same as always Sweet video again brother brilliant stuff 👏👍👌
Thanks dude appreciate it 😎
Thank you for the great content. Are these things available in the us as well or only in the uk?

Awesome kit I need one of these💙
Very cool
I'm just completely hypnotized by that beard
It’s wonderful isn’t it 😄
At the moment I'm no shift! Gearbox went last week, stuck in 3rd!
Fortunately Bryn is coming down in a week or so to sort it out 👍
Thank goodness for mr Tt haha that’s no good, did you managed to sort a new used box?

@@blakkno666 Thats wicked, at least there is still some decent ppl out there, sure bryn will bring it back to life :)
Hi Dom just got one of these short shifters do you have to adjust any linkages ? Do not want to fit this and mess up gear changes
You only have to adjust it inside the car, you leave the ones on the gearbox alone
Great timing! Was literally thinking today I wonder what sort shift options there are! Standard gearbox is too sloppy and too long a throw IMO!
Its like i read your mind! haha been meaning to do a video on it for months but always end up doing a fix rather than a mod haha #ttlife
Hi buddy was just wondering if I could pick your brains does 225 and 180 share the same struts and springs as im thinking of transfering them over.
If Quattro yea, the springs will be slightly different between facelift, prefacelift, sport / non sport etc haha
Mate sick video. Looking forward to the install video that’s amazing.
Thanks man, yeah for sure I’m looking forward to when it’s installed 😂
I think the gear shifter is spot on my seats all the way up aswell. Do have long arms though.
It is probably my long legs and short arms haha
@@TheParrottBros 🤣🤣
What is the console display in the track car
What do you mean by console display? Can you give me a video time roughly. Thanks
At 7:32 the instrument cluster looks like an all digital display.

I cant find short shifter for Audi tt mk1 5 speed gearbox, guys pls help!
Search for golf mk4 based 5 speed that should be same
@@TheParrottBros tnx mate
You can also fit a CAE shifter but that’s pushing £1,300. Looks unreal though.
