- WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO MARRY A FILIPINA IN THE PHILIPPINES?
FIRST, you need to secure a marriage license.
To do this, you have to visit your Local Civil Registrar in the city where you want to be married and submit the following documents:
1. Certified true copies of birth certificates from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
2. Notarized affidavit of parental consent or advice for applicants below 25 years of age.
3. Latest Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) or Certificate of Singleness.
4. Certificate of Attendance in a pre-marriage counseling, family planning, and responsible parenthood seminar.
5. Valid ID
.
In addition to the above requirements, for foreign nationals, one has to also submit the following:
1. Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry issued by the Consular office/embassy of his/her country
. For British applicants, it will be an affidavit or affirmation of marital status.
For U.S. citizens, its consulate is not allowed by law to make any certification about your eligibility for marriage in the Philippines. What it can only provide is an affidavit in place of the Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry, which you can secure by appointment from the US Embassy in Manila or through a walk-in application at the U.S. Embassy in Cebu.
2. Photocopy of your passport (showing the date of arrival and data)
If you have been annulled or divorce, you also have to provide Certificate of Finality of Annulment from the Court and Certificate of Registration from the Local Civil Registrar.
In case of a widow who wants to remarry, the death Death Certificate of the deceased spouse is also a requirement.
You can use the marriage license anywhere in the Philippines, and you have 120 days to get married once you have secured it. Otherwise, the license expires, and you need to get a new one again.

Very informative, but the background music was too loud.
Thank you. Will make sure to reduce the volume of background music next time. :)
The information is well organized however the music is too loud. I would actually not have any music but that's your choice. Otherwise very well done.
Greetings from Southern California! Thank you very much for this information. Seems like a lot to do. Maybe you can make a downloadable checklist? Also, sometimes it was hard to hear your voice above the background music. I loved the video and awesome information. Thank you, and I look forward to your next informative video. I will share.
hi, great info but the music background drowned out the voice alot and was hard to follow...music really quiet and soft next time will help alot..thank you also :)
I was not disappointed going through these requirements, because for me having a Filipina wife was well worth the effort.
love this! congrats on the new channel!👏🏽 the background music is lovely but a lil too loud....it overpowers your voice
Fantastic information but why does your government make it so hard.
Also please please stop the music in the background it's hard to hear.
Good information, but the music makes it difficult to focus somewhat.
I just found this channel. I've seen you on the Filipina Pea a few times and glad to see you start this channel. I'm going to need some good advice in the coming months.
thanks, very helpfull video. Comment: sometimes the music is louder than your voice...
Thanks for the comment. Will improve nexttime. )
You are truly fantastic 👏 when I go to Philippines I will need your guidance 🙏 see you later 👌
Thank you for this great information. I can now work on the new Plan A for what needs to be done. Unfortunately I cannot go to a local sari sari store and buy the documents for 20 pesos. Now I have to organize things. At least as a couple in the Philippines I do not think you have to social distance. Imagine always having to be about 2 meters from your spouse - that can cause a stressful marriage. Keep up with the great advice.
Can a non-church wedding occur at any venue? For example, at a resort or other natural, outdoor setting?
Yes. I had mine at a beach resort.
Video quality is much better. The music the constant music makes this video seem more of a commercial. But still professional. The constant interruptions of different types of music is unique. But I think this style is something people are more used to. Although it could have used an ending. Like a nice thank you for watching or something. Or even a plug to your business. Like legal business consulting hours etc. Over all, nice video. Will definitely recommend. Thumbs up.
Nice video , very useful information. The background music though was annoying and at times made it difficult to hear.
Hello, I am a new subscriber. Thank you for your new channel. Sorry, but in many parts of this video the music is louder than your voice and it is too difficult to hear what you are saying. Hopefully, this can be corrected. Thank you for your informative videos! Best regards, Mark
First comment :) You'll probably make more residual income from these videos once your channel takes off then you would from consoul sessions
thank you for sharing
I like your videos, but the intro with the cat is a bit creepy.
Loved this one. Very informative
thanks 🤗
I guess I’m the first one to
verrrrrrry helpful! thanx so much!
Thank you Gracie very Informative.
Oh so complicated.. and the music is way too loud :/
If it's true that divorce is not allowed in the Philippines what do you do if craziness happens?
Thank you very much for this informative vlog. by the way you have a beautiful speaking voice
Thank you ;)
Thanks for the great advice 😀
Wow, I thought we had a lot of red tape here in the USA. That sure is a lot of approvals that are needed to get married. I'm pretty sure there will be a fee at each step as well. All that was good information but what about plan B? Plan B could be flying back to the USA and getting married here. Or back to any other country for that matter. Will the Philippines not recognize a marriage preformed outside of the Philippines? It seems to me that it would just be easier to be married in another country. That is some good info for sure, so thank you for letting us know. I'm sure there are a lot of people looking information in this area. Expect some calls because I;m sure they are coming. TFS
You are Great Ms. Graci 👍👍👍
Thank you
We are having a good debate in one group on if foreigners can become duo citizens and how.
Don't you have to plant a whole bunch of banana plants first?
What’s it cost to get a annulment or divorce?
I'm already married to a Filipina. We want to have a wedding in the Philippines for her friends and family to attend. Do we have to do anything legally to have our wedding in the Philippines?
If you have registered your marriage in the philippine and you just want to have wedding ceremony here, then the requirements I mentioned in my video will no longer apply.
hallo from South Africa i have a couple of questions is it legal to get married online in the philippines if im in South Africa and my fiance is in the philippines and we can get a marriage certificate to show we are married and if thats fine on what visa can me and my son go to the philippines why im asking that because we cant get married with this whole pendemic and i realy want to spend the rest of my life with her
If online wedding is valid in South africa and you do it under the requirements of SA, then the philippines can recognize it.. But there is no online wedding in the philippines and if there is one, it would not be valid here yet.
Thank you, but if my Filipina wants to get married in the America. Is the same process? Here if over the age of 25 years. We can marry the same day. I’m not sure if that also applies to foreigner.
I forgot to add she is 31 years old and I’m 55 years old. And she currently living in Malaysia. And never married
Hi Roy, the requirements will have to be the ones required in the US.
what if your wife cheats an get preg while you are in your home country can you divorce in usa from her and send it to her
Take the short cut get married online it's what a lot of people are doing now
awsome!! is this actually possible?
Great Info. Keep the content coming!
