Loved this super long collection of videos, I realised towards the end that I was even enjoying watching you organise and tidy the baby's room. I haven't had babies for 26 years😂 at that point I did fast forward. I've been binge watching all small space decluttering videos preparing to downsize. Unlike so many you actually do have a small house and really understand the problems that creates. In the UK we don't have basements, I don't even have a garage. Love that you make it functional, not Pinterest worthy and often give cheaper alternatives to storage solutions. It has really helped to keep up the clearing out momentum. Seeing you clean as you empty sooths my soul, no one else shows that, do they put stuff back in a dirty draw😂 Just hitting subscribe now. Thank you. Eleanor

Thank you for all the great ideas. I want to give you an idea about the plastic sandwich bags. I’m not judging you for using them. My mom used wax paper to wrap sandwiches in before there were plastic bags. But, wax paper is not compostable. Now, there is parchment paper which is compostable. There are even RUclips videos that show how to wrap a sandwich in parchment paper. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the content. I have a quick tip for when you buy new containers or anything glass or plastic that has store label or price tag glued on. Grab your hair dryer and just heat it up for a minute and the label will peel right off without any residue. If it doesn't come off easily heat it just a little longer. 🥰

Props to Catherine Elaine--the video is fun to watch & helpful. I'm also a senior & don't have $$ to indulge in creatively "obsessive" & repeated upscaling of stored stuff. As another sub commented, I agree that the Dollar Tree has most of the items she's used and I've purchased, some with minor differences, but paying $1 (or $1.25 with recent price increase) vs. $10-$40 for very similar JosephJoseph & Amazon organizing plasticware & gadgets makes the project less of a splurge & doable. Don't know if you have Grocery Outlet in your area, that discounter is also a good source!

@@rosamundg.3789 I live in Canada and the dollar tree here is dismal verses the USA. We don't get half of the items and your stores look so neat and organized. The one here looks like a low end liquidation outlet. More product in boxes then on the shelf. Oh, and don't even bother to ask if they have any items they are so under staffed nobody knows what is going on. We do have a Dollarama but not much better and they are not a true Dollar store anymore, everything is way more now. Such is life...thanks for the input. 😁

You are amazing! One thing I didn't see in your coat closet was a place to store umbrellas. We hang ours from the closet rod up against the wall next to the coats IF they have the cane-type handle. We hang the smaller foldable ones on S-hooks on the other side of the coats. I notice that you have some space to do that to the left of your coats.

I'm looking at the inset bathroom mirror cabinet, with all your makeup/personal care items lined up precariously on the clear glass shelves and thinking that those small clear plastic containers that did not fit well into the sink vanity drawer would be perfect for organizing and stabilizing the items in the inset bathroom mirror cabinet.
I've had the experience of someone accidently hitting the shelves inside one of these medicine cabinets and things falling over among themselves and even breaking in the sink below. Small containers not only stop that from happening, but organizes them for quick removal and use.
Also, you might consider a single roll of Contact paper or Peel & Stick wallpaper to cover the outside of the acrylic makeup cube and fronts of its drawers, to provide visual blocking for the clutter inside. It's possible you could even find translucent or diffused color-toned material. All you really need to cover is the sides, top, and drawer fronts; no need to cover the back, the insides, or even more than a half-inch or so of the bottom (to avoid scuffing-caused peeling).
Concerning including Cleaning as part of your Organization Content:
I don't understand there being complaint.
Most people don't do regular deep cleans; they set up their spaces and just live with whatever happens afterwards. Most people have no clue how quickly dust and dirt builds up over time until they're packing up to move out. THAT is when they find spilled food, liquid stains, dust buildup, bugs, and rodent feces.
Most people don't do regular deep cleans because they have what they consider to be higher priorities, usually other people's expectations and obligations that struggle to meet. Or they have overloaded lives with huge time and effort demands. So deep cleanouts fall to the bottom of the list.
The thing is, organization is an excellent opportunity to clean thoroughly and start fresh. You're already removing everything, you're already introducing new containers, so why not do a complete job and clean deeply? And that means expanding out to other areas, to the floor, the cabinet doors and drawer fronts, the lighting fixtures, etc. In organizing, things get moved to new placements; why not do a deep clean there, to? Otherwise you're just shifting stuff around.
Look, I'm all for doing it all in baby steps. But even when limiting your effort, you need to give the spot a thorough clean. In the process, you get a chance to discover other issues of higher priority, such as whether you have mold or pests living with you. ALWAYS take advantage of the opportunity or the motivation to clean. After all, you may not pass this way again for some time. And how embarrassing if such uncleanliness is found by a visitor.

Looks really good. Couple notes though. Not a criticism, just a learned experience from one mother to another. The construction of your drawers, the way they are assembled, there is a good possibility those spring loaded drawer separaters will pry them apart. It will loosen the top board and the bottom will fall out near the face plate as you open the drawer. Only reason i mentioned it is it happened to me as i have similarly designed drawers (actually mine are worse, but in the same backyard of poorly thought out structure) with the weakest points at the extremities. Not joking, I had to reframe the lot of them. Not fun! Might not hurt to check the fastening mechanism (screws vs brads) and also ensure that they are solid wood, rather than mdf with veneer.

Love your organizing strategies and the products you used. I’m getting ready to change the old drawer organizer containers in our kitchen cooking utensil drawer.
▫️I’m a believer in everything having a home. And, storing like things together as much as practical. I also gave all 57 drawers in our home a storage purpose and name.
▫️We’ve never had a junk drawer. We’ve always had a utility drawer. I grew up with a utility room, utility cart in the pantry and a utility drawer. Maybe it was a 1950s thing. It may sound like putting lipstick on a pig. But, it certainly changes expectation for the space if you think about utility vs junk. Certain things belong there. In our home we have a utility drawer in the kitchen for items used regularly and a utility closet in the hall for cleaning tools, filters, scented wax melts, command hooks, shopping bags. And, I keep a container there labeled “parts for those extra parts that come with shelving units, etc.

Our house was built in 1960 and what we call the "pantry" must have been a "broom closet". The walls inside were perforated for hanging things and shelves are 24' X 12". We made shelves and got hardware from the home improvement store. 40 years later it is still working for us, but I have serious "pantry envy" when seeing shows like this one!

Mine is granite and I found that if you used the multi-purpose spray it seemed to dull the surface after a while and never felt totally clean, so I do suggest buying a specific spray for your bench. Majority of the stuff she got was either from Target or Amazon. She found a lot of really simple, and inexpensive, yet cute and suitable containers for her project. She made/makes her own labels with her CricutJoy just to add that extra touch. I've seen some of the containers/organizers they carry at Target and majority of them are really inexpesive. It's also best to gather all your measurements before hand so that you know exactly the size and shape of the containers/organizers you need/want to use in your space. It's also best to play around witht them, and if you don't like them you can take them back/return them and buy something new. Now, I'm only a teenager who isn't out of the house yet, so I don't know much, but I love watching these and getting ideas for future room renovations or for my future home when I'm older. But either way, I hope this helps a bit! 😊

If you lived near me, I would hire you in a skinny minute to help organize my tiny kitchen! I downsized last year, and I thought I got rid of enough from the kitchen, but apparently, I didn’t. The house does have a small pantry, and I turned the front hall closet into an appliance garage for things like my dehydrator, electric pressure canner, etc. I also put extra set of shelves in the master closet for the foods I can.

How do you deal with disposing of extra/excess re-usable, recyclable plastic containers?
For example, deli and take-out containers? We keep and use them for travel as well as for in-home left-over storage.
I cannot afford to buy expensive brand name containers so I re-use those mentioned containers a few time before recycling them and tossing them into a recycle bin, especially after a travel use. That means they do not get grungy but it also means I need to keep some in reserve than I would like to. Lately, we have more than I want but I am having a hard time just tossing them...

    Hi there ,
I wanted to offer some advice based on my experience with the Caraway pots.
They do all of the things you said & they clean so super easy it’s like magic.
There is something that you cannot do with them, or your food will stick to them like normal pans.
    Don’t be like us!!
We did not read the full instructions we were so excited to start using them.
Do NOT fry your food on the highest heat setting it will mess the pans up!
After someone screwed up one of the fry pans I dug out the documents that came with them.
It mentions you should not use them above a medium high heat settings.
Do yourself a favor & follow that advice.
Also, do not pile things on top of them in the sink while waiting to be cleaned bc they tend to get very scratched up by other dishes rubbing against them.
As long as you take very good care of them they are a great investment.
Be aware that means hand washing, careful storage, and using caution with higher heat settings.
Also don’t let boys use them because they don’t listen to the above advice.

Does the peel and stick come off without taking out the paint ? The only thing I worry about is it will take of the paint and damage your place

I keep hearing one of the songs you play and would love to know what the artist’s name is and the song. As soon as it plays I forget what I’m doing lol. 16:26, 46:40. I went to your link for the music but didn’t get far 😉

Lol but anyway if you can’t do the cereal just put like a jar of banana baby food not the whole jar but like a quarter of the jar and he will sleep so good! I wonder why his pediatrician said that? it could be like that my children are now 13 and 9 a boy and a girl!
