I seen new cel animation these days people made doesnt seem like the old one, but this one looks something like old one like the outline, color and everything
@sosza .777 I was gonna ask the same thing . I'm not sure what paint artists used when making 70's Anime and 80's Anime back then . I need to do more research myself .
sorry for the late reply, but i drew directly on the front of the dura-lar film with a sharpie! you can buy dura-lar film at your local art store or online. i used paint markers on the back side, but you could also use acrylic paint from a tube :D
@blubeez1865 Any advice on how to make cel art like 70's Anime or 80's Anime? I'd love to make an old Anime cel myself but idk what materials I would need for it to look as close and as authentic as possible to the original/ real thing.
hi!! i used dura-lar film (you can buy this from your local art supply store or online) and used a sharpie on the front of the cel for the lineart. on the back i used acrylic paint markers but you could also use acrylic paint from a tube. for style inspo, i'd just study works you enjoy from that era!! some of my favs from that time are early ghibli movies like totoro and nausicaa, little memole, and candy candy :)
i used a sharpie for the black outline, and uni posca pens for the colors! you can use any water based acrylic paint from a tube for color if you want though, it's the same thing ^_^
Do the markers have to dry like paint does? After painting a cel you usually have it dry for at least 24 hrs. I was wondering if it was the same for markers?

For the Lineart you draw it on the cell with markers? Or just printed on it?
