Unfortunately with copyright laws we wouldn’t be able to play a bunch of music in a video, we would love to let you listen live though if you are in the Dallas, Texas area sometime.
Great video. I am very interested in the Sonus Faber Amati G5. I have a Luxman 509X integrated amplifier. They have an output of 120W. I wonder if that wil suffice for the Amati's.
I am eyeballing the Lilium, my MC312 almost feel inadequate from a price range but I never listen above 80-85db at 3m seating position. Do you feel it’s 300w would be adequate with those speakers?
Sorry we are just now responding, Sonus Faber speakers in general are pretty easy to drive but I would feel you would enjoy the micro dynamics more on those with more power, maybe add a MC275 tube amp for the kids and highs and use the MC312 you currently have for the bass. Just a thought.
Hi, I currently have a pair of Sonetto V speakers . Which Sonus Faber bookshelf speaker would you say is an upgrade up from these Sonetto V speakers? Thanks.
From the start of your video until about 15 min in 90% of your comparison has to do with the Base response if that is the major difference in the speakers why not go with the lowest-end model and add a Rel sub? Also is it fair to try and compare a 55k speaker to an 18k I would think if the 55k speaker didn't sound much much better than the $55 speaker I would be very disappointed don't think you are comparing apples to apples. It's like saying both the Audi and the chevy drive very nicely you cannot go wrong with either one. I would like to hear your feedback
I dropped in to listen to the Olympica V’s and listened to them and the Amati. The Olympica is not cheap but they sound great and look beautiful. Both look beautiful. It wasn’t a direct A/B with the same electronics. I can just say that the Amati’s do everything better and if the Olympica were not already a stretch for our budget, considering a center channel, surrounds, room treatment, and electronics, I would go with the Amati. However, not having unlimited resources, I will be happy with the Olympica line and I hope to squeeze dual subs into the package. It was a pleasure to get introduced to the company and they seem like a good fit for our needs. I felt like either would be the best speakers I’ve ever had but I think you probably do need more expensive electronics for the Amati’s to get the most out of them. You know a Corvette is a Chevy, right. I think a Corvette vs Porsche might be a good analogy for these speakers. Some will think it’s worth the extra price for the Porsche and some will be happier with a Corvette. But with either you need the right tires for them to perform their best and my impression was that you need more expensive equipment surrounding the Amati’s and they are a little larger if space is a concern, which it is for us.
I have the Michi Pre/ Amp combo and am looking for speakers that match well with them. Short list includes the Sonetto VIIi, Monitor Gold 300, Focal Kanta No 2's and Legacy audio Signature SE. Curious to hear their suggestions.
So nice to hear people listen to Sonus Faber speakers with peasant music, not just classical.
Great show!
So nice to have you guys in this venue.
Looking forward to a bunch more,
Sonus Faber and Mac., great stuff.
Turntables too! Cool!😁

You are a lucky man to have your spouse so involved with your everyday passion.
Just got my Sonus Faber Aida 2's in Wenge installed yesterday. Amazing sound! Looking forward to breaking in the woofers over the next 40hrs of play.

Looking forward to see your Sonus Faber collection. Any amp recommendations for Sonneto VIII
Would have been nice to have played some music with each speaker. Maybe the next video.

The Amati’s are surprisingly very efficient to drive!

Sorry we are just now responding. I would look at the Olympics Nova 1 bookshelf speakers as the next step up.
Do sonus fabers need to be positioned far from sudewalls?
It really depends on the acoustics of your space, your listening position and the dimensions of the room.
