I still do not understand why the tube and solid state pre amp signal paths have separate outputs. I expect I would feed these into a mixer so I can shift the mix from tube dominant to SS dominant without constantly having to unplug leads.

What DSP processor does this have?

I think it's a bit reckless to advise your clients NOT to plug any and all high end equipment into a high quality power conditioner.

Does this amp have a built in phono pre amp? Im guessing it does.. But if so is there any reason why you would still want to run a separate phono preamp on this say for example the MP100 or is that just for a "lesser" setup and the MA12000 is a major stepup from that phono pre. Im asking because im trying to figure out where to start with Macintosh. Amp / Phono Pre (MP100) a pre amp or a integrated amp... and if you had an integrated amp there is no reason to have a pre amp or phono pre amp?

Not sure why they dont make a hometheater processor with hybrid tube preamp stage for the front left, center and right and solid state for the bed layer and atmos. In fact we could do the crossover direclty with XLRs the tweeters high range for the left, right and center and then XLRs for the bass and bedlayer, surrounfs and height. Obviously priced at $35k.

$50,000. And to think a couple of Stereo Integrity 24's @ around $1,000, will blow that thing back into the dark ages.

to me McIntosh are the Ferrari of the audio world. Great when just work, but very poor build quality for the price, and everyone just suck it up and goes "It's aMcIntosh". That's why I will never own one.

Male jewelry, the room isn't even designed for good sound and as others have pointed out you need multiple subwoofers to create even bass without room modes pumping up certain frequencies. Audiophoolery as a hobby really is a combo of OCD and showing off disposable income, nothing to do with the pursuit of fidelity which can be achieved at a very reasonable cost if you know how to read a spec sheet and have a good listening environment.

What would you prefer the ma12000 or the ma9500?

I think the subs in my trunk can beat these

The question : why... why spend 60k on a single sub wich dont realy solve any problems. Every well setup Bass Array 2 in the front, 2 in the back, more or similiar (incl DSP Correction & Setup) with solid drivers (Seas, Scan Speak or similar) play (correctly setup via dsp of course) probably in the same league or even better and you spend max ~1/6 of the price... I dont understand this market. Probably its about the looks and brands why people buy stuff like this. Because i cant understand why people dont research and look how you can control the bass response in the room and what solutions are available
