  • In this highlight video of my interview on the ‪@BankingTransformedPodcast‬ I speak about the uniqueness of Fintech and Banking in Africa. The customer is fundamentally different and so are their needs, hence this poses a challenge for traditional institutions who aren't able to adjust. I go on to explain how this has spurred more ecosystem partnerships as a shared and joint effort to provide value to the unique consumer in Africa.

    Great interview.
Considering the fact that Africa still has a low rate of financial inclusion, it presents fintechs in the region with enormous opportunities.

According to current situation in Ghana which is the area of Fintech would you suggest to an investor..

There are lots of opportunities that I believe investors would be interested in. One example I thought of recently is that currently, the economic situation has a lot of Ghanaians worrying about where to keep their money. Most are purchasing FX as a store of value however there aren't investment opportunities for FX in country. If a Fintech were to find a way for local citizens to participate in the Global Stock Marketst (E.g purchase stock of the NSE) that would be unique offering. Obviously, it would be tricky to accomplish and a lot of thought has to be given on the operational side. But once its figured out it would be a game changer for most. The easier example would be financial inclusion. i.e. finding ways to include more people in the formal financial sector. Hope that helps.
