I’d like a little clarification. I don’t see how Jumia, eBay, and Etsy are examples of fintechs, I think they are just e-commerce companies operating a market place business model. To my knowledge, these e-commerce companies rely on external payment gate ways to process payments. A better example of a Fintech operating a market place business model in my opinion would be LendingTree. Lastly, in my opinion a business model is how a business “delivers value” to its customers and in term “makes money” in a sustainable manner. This video seems to be delving more on value delivery. I expected to also hear “more” about how businesses make money off each model. I hope you touch more on this in the next part. Thank you.
You are absolutely right Peter, even though there are some overlaps between e-commerce platforms and fintechs they are usually kept quite distinctly apart. In this video, i focused more on the overlaps like the payment processing aspect so lending tree would definitely be a better example for a clearer distinction. I'll do my best to incorporate points around the money making aspect and also talk more about pricing. I appreciate the feedback cheers
ebay is not a fintech company. Marketplaces can only be an example of fintechs only if they process the payment themselves and I don't think ebay does that.
Hello Jeremy can you do me a research about fintech Apps/Companies work with Savings only. I wanted to know more about how they develop their business Models, challenges as well as the impact their Apps or systems are bringing to the world. Thanks.
