Thing is, Senshi just _is_ like that. Remember, he was posed up on that bed like a model for no reason. He’s _always_ like this, just, as a dwarf, so it doesn’t remotely look the same.
Nah, Senshi's personality didn't change. He was always like that. He just seems fruitier now that he's an elf. I don't remember if this was earlier or something from the manga or Adventurer's Bible, but Namari made a comment about Senshi; I don't remember the exact phrasing, something like "he's pretty effeminate for a dwarf" or like "not dwarf-like for a dwarf". Also, I love how Marcille's biggest worry when she found out she turned into a half-foot was that her tits were gone.
@@alexleonardorodriguezgueva5288 right. ryoko kui is not the kind of mangaka that sexualizes her characters (except senshi for laughs) and it's not consistent with marcille's character to be concerned about the size of her breasts
There were times where Senshi did show that side of his personality; mainly when lounging around, but it was definitely played up beyond that for the gag.
In the manga's extra called the adventures bible, it's said that Senshi is 112 yo, so he actually spend 76 years searching for the hippogriffin's meat. He lied when he said that he had being in the dungeon for 10 years( he probably doesn't even know how much time he spend down there).
It’s also why long-lived races get _so_ tripped up by the ages of non-long-lived races. “Ah, you’re (insert age)… you’re basically a baby” as said, to a grown-ass man.
Senshi was basically a teenager. Like the equivalent to 13-15 in Human years. Which was why, him thinking Chilchuck was a human kid, he needed to look out for him; he thought Laios and Marcille were sketchy at first for having a kid do trap and lock-picking work. And why he protected Izutsumi when the hag spell tried to stab them. His trauma response is protecting the children and making sure they're fed.
The killing and eating their horse (back when Senshi was young) was why he was so attached to the Kelpie because it reminded him of their beloved horse, also an obvious sign here is that he named it Anne after the deceased horse
Senshi deserves the world! With this episode, Senshi wanting to ensure that people, specially the youngsters, are well fed acquired a whole new context!
Does that mean senshi is younger than Namari? Cause he was 36 in the dungeon and the dungeon was discovered by them like 10 years ago. So that means he would only be 46
@@balamugunthbalaji8110 he is 112 currently, that is the equivalent of a 42 year old man in Dwarf years. The dungeon was discovered by the Island and the people ten years ago, but Senshi and his crew found it before then. So Senshi is older than Namari who is 60 (20) because Laois in Dwarf form is 63 ( 27 or so) so they are close in age, the really funny thing is that Chilchuck is the oldest of the group at 29 in Half-Foot years because that is equivalent to a 50 year old man in Tall-Man years, Half-foots only live to 50 but Half-foot fifty not Tall-man 50 if this all makes sense

I love how the Changelings are mushrooms in this series because in the actual European myth of a Changeling is a human-like creature that various supernatural creatures like fairies who would replace children that they kidnapped with it & a Fairy Ring which are fungi grown in a circle which are believed to where fairies dwell or the site of Witches dancing on Walpurgis Night, so it’s very clever combing them making transforming mushroom (classic trope) which the manga artist Ryōko Kui recreated the first chapter with them in their new forms (the red dragon is replaced with Falin & added Izutsumi) for Ch. 50 while also made a cover for Ch. 51 showing how each of the party member would look like if they were either a Tall-Man (Human), Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, or Gnome

there is an extra that is senshi´s journal and he mentions that when he transformed into an elf everyone told him that "even his mannerisms resembled the elves" he felt that was quite hurtful because he remained the same on the inside, that made him rethink the way he has said similar things to marcille in the past "never again"
I was waiting for this one!!! Edit: I just wanted to talk about how scary that situation was. Like just imagine getting picked off one by one, not being able to leave
Small lil detail; the horse’s name was Anne, the same thing Senshi named the Kelpie that he killed earlier on. It makes sense now why Senshi was upset at Anne the Kelpie having to be killed
3:25 Actually Senshi is a teenager in dwarf years, I will give you an example, Marsille is a half-elf, so at 20 years old she still looked like a child, both her body and her mind have not yet fully developed, this is the same thing. happens to Senshi, his body develops very slowly and he is still young, the reason why his beard grew so quickly when he was locked up was because dwarves have rapid growth of body and facial hair, even women can have beards, so they constantly have to shave
I liked how this episode played on the classic Dwarf trope of them being greedy and hard to stop once they set their eyes on "treasure". Moria all over again.
"Now that I've given my readers a roller coaster they need to breath. And you know what's great for moving air through lungs? Laughter! Hard slam to comedy time!"

Yeah, Senshi is very nurturing and feminine for a dwarf. There's a reason the other dwarf mocked him for being weak
People keep saying that but I don't understand, he literally doesn't act like that. It's only a gag I think.
There were times where Senshi did show that side of his personality; mainly when lounging around, but it was definitely played up beyond that for the gag.
Senshi spent 10 years thinking he ate Homiegryph stew
Probably much more time
He spent a decade or two thinking he ate long-pig.
In the manga's extra called the adventures bible, it's said that Senshi is 112 yo, so he actually spend 76 years searching for the hippogriffin's meat. He lied when he said that he had being in the dungeon for 10 years( he probably doesn't even know how much time he spend down there).
@andrelimaveiga7867
True, I definitely hadn’t considered lifespan, he was a young lad at that point.
Tragic
Senshi is 112 years old, he was 36 when the hippogriff attacked, so Senshi has been living in the dungeon with his burden for 76 years.
Being 36 years old in dwarves is equivalent to being a child in their race and 50 years is like old age for Half foots lol

OH that's such a heart breaking connection DX good catch though! I'd forgotten that he named the kelpie Anne, but it makes a lot of sense now
Anne was also the name of kelpie in the earlier episode!
He's probably the type to always name a horse the same thing. Like Geralt always names his horse 'Roach', Senshi feels best on a steed named 'Anne'.
A 14 year old dog would be considered old but a 14 year old human is a kid
Senshi was always serving. Just now he's serving as an elf
