Getting the treatment now. Was let go from my job as a social worker due to my symptoms. Leaving the field to work in aviation as a mechanic. If you have PTSD being sourounded with other people with PTSD is bad.
Thanks for posting this video VeteransMTC, It really helps me a lot, as a Navy Veteran, I am seeking help from the VA for PTSD as well as Depression. I am also helping others that have suffered from PTSD like a firefighter that was there on 9/11. I want to help more veterans, as well as those people who survived 9/11 and were there when it happened, like the firefighters, police officers, and rescue personnel.

Recently I thought about getting back into mental health. I wanted to work with the vetrans from the war in the middle east, I thought about going to Afganistan to handle traumatic injuries, but realized there are people that have served our county and suffer from PTSD or post concussion syndrom, this has been a huge problem for men & woman who fought in this war. If anyone is aware of a contact so I can discuss my qualifications and find a center near LA were I could work with these vetrans

Michael, look on the USAJobs.gov website for employment at the VA. When you go there, do a search with a filter for the Department of Veteran's Administration, and put in the closest city to you. If you live in Louisiana, maybe put in Baton Rouge and see what pops up.

Some of us can't get care from the VA even though I am a veteran. My time in service does not fall within the dates it needs to fall in, on order for me to get care through the VA. I've tried, even going for counseling through civilian Facilities using my health insurance. The therapy was a joke, the therapist was a joke, she had no idea what in was going through. It cost me a lot of time and money and was a joke that wasn't funny. Ha ha ha. The joke's on on you sucker! My daughter can tell something is wrong and she has her own baby to worry about. Life's a nitch, then we All die. Cheers, airmen first Class, mcs!!!

I was proud to be a part of this project. I loved connecting with other veterans and helping them find resources in their communities.
