I took the asvab a few weeks ago, and got a 96. I used Kaplan's study guide. Mind you i tend to do pretty well on standardized tests. But my advice to anyone taking the asvab is not to treat it as a joke! Even if you think you'll be fine, study, study, study! Take plenty of practice tests and don't forget to time them.
So that's the key to pass the ASVAB is to study huh? I don't know what your doing but with me but my situation is much different I've been studying and studying for months and I still failed. I don't understand because I just got out of high school and I have no problem with studying and passing my exams at school. I have a 3.5 GPA. And I have the Kaplan ASVAB book just like you. And I took my time on every fricken page even the stuff I know in my sleep and guess what I ended up with a 28!! The only thing I haven't tried was practicing timing myself. And I guess that's the problem. But honestly timing myself is so stressful I mean I see the clock counting down everytime I finished or begin a problem. How many days and hours did you studying for the ASVAB is it good to study every single day? And 7 hours straight I need advice😭😭😭😭😱📖😫📚
@@nikkeiharris850 I plan to take the asvab myself soon and honestly I wish I would've joined out of high school but I put the military on the back burner. Big mistake for me personally. However, few years later I've realized the key: is time! Instead of studying 7 hours straight without giving your mind and eyes some rest, study in 25 min. sessions 4x with a mandatory 5 min break right after each 25 min sessions. Our brain can only store and hold so much facts and details. Good luck!
@@nikkeiharris850 I encourage you to definitely study the four main subtests to qualify. I have the Kaplan book too, did you take the diagnostic test? Figure out your weak points and attack them using the method I described above.
I like how clean the videos be. For the most part cut dry and to the point with adding a little “you” in between, keep up the amazing videos. I seen some of your latest videos I’m happy you were still able to get in because MEPS can be tricky as I heard so 🤦🏾♂️ God willing I’m able to join in a few weeks . Wish you the best
@@inyiaa5818 here's a update from myself. I made a 36 the first time I took it. I studied came back and made a 59 my goal was a 60. My gt score was a 110. Anyone can do it.
@@prettygirlshan I used the asvab for dummies app and studied the math portion I studied it so much I did better on the math than the word knowledge sad but true...
Namìko t. I can only advise you to get the free apps on your phone and the asvab for dummies book because they’re both inexpensive and help you either see what content will be on the test or see how the test is set up
I am listing Personell, Chaplain Assistant, medical, dental, and a few others! I’ve worked in the medical field since I was 18 I am now 32:) but I have to think of some others to list
I scored a 17 studied a month and took it again and made a 26, study study study. I’m taking it again next month praying I make the minimum (31)just to get in and I’ll study and change my job
Kristin Legs It’s okay I know I seen your first video back from bmt. Thanks again though, & this is random but “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.” Remember that 👍🏾
So the questions were the same type on the practice as they were on the test. The test is just way longer so if you're not mentally prepared to be in there for 4 hours then it can make it seem harder. People usually score better on the real test than the practice too.
Kristin Legs I had to retake the ASVAB after taking the confirmation test lmao. I got a 99 on the PICAT and 98 AFQT on real ASVAB. Thought I was gonna be late for my hotel lol.

It's weird because when I study I always do bad on a test. Not just because of expectations, but also because my knowledge goes down the drain LOL.
I'm 29 now and a single mom and recent college grad. I'm looking into joining the Military now. I'm studying for the Asvab.
beautiful2 good luck to you! Do you know which branch you’re leaning towards?
Kristin Legs Air Force or Navy

After the 3 or 4 years do you have to retake the asvab?
No. It’s just a test to see what jobs you qualify for.
Hi Kristin, i sent you message on instagram and Snapchat u didnt respond please can you check the message and reply thanks
If you are death in one ear can you still join?
So there's a hearing test that you have to pass and need to be able to hear out of both of your ears so no you wouldn't be able to
Just don’t study and get a 91 like I did! 🎂
You’re a salty one, aren’t ya.
Kristin Legs Nope! No salt here!
Want a cookie?
Jayzilla Yes, please.
