In your educated opinion can you recommend playing S&S Ancient Chronicles without ever playing the first S&S? Is S&S:AC easier to get on the table from a chits and rules point of view? Thanks!
For me, *so far* I feel Immortal Souls is the more straight forward experience - but in saying that, I didn't do a playthrough for that one, so who knows how much I played wrong! 😂 Chit management on the other hand is far improved in Ancient Chronicles. In both cases though, I still see some rules and some gameplay elements needing some streamlining to be less fiddly for the future.
You made several errors on the serpent on this one, it couldn't have been targeted by ranged attacks as it wasn't engaged and it couldn't be KOed, it also automatically dominates against a single hero. Finally you didn't regenerate its magic shields... They are very nasty... Still think you should use the challenge set to increase game difficulty, that elder spider didn't feel as tough as the snake should have been.
Thanks Crimson - yeah, I'm just not paying attention to the enemy rules like I should be. Hopefully I will earn a place with the Challenge Set, but not yet... once I'm totally familiar with these Hero builds, then I will be all over it! 😁
