It really is amazing what we can do through emulation. I have a few of my old original console systems but other than that I really don't care about obtaining original hardware anymore. For what you'd spend for just one retro system you can get a PC that will pretty much emulate everything. I know it's not for everyone but I love it! I was thinking Warhawk was a launch title but I guess it wasn't. Definitely one of my favorite early releases for the system though. It's amazing what they were able to accomplish with the limitations of the hardware.
In regards to games with 2D sprites, you'd probably need to download texture packs in order to make them look enhanced, if you don't want to use the CRT filter.

Exactly how most think. Original hardware is lovely but frankly, they are very old now, a PC or FPGA can do better if not more than original hardware.

Good idea but some games only have texture packs, in fact. PS1 likely has less texture packs available than most systems.
