If you’re struggling with the canvas you can always pre-poke your holes before you do the thread. Granted, it’s technically a weave so it can still be kind of a moot point, but I found when I pre-poked at least. 2 or 3 ahead I had an easier time.
Seeing as you are new to embroidery you should really get a ring thimble. I have one you can adjust to your finger size it's amazing. I make patches and to outline my work before I fill it out i use a split stitch to make it look neat and easy to fill with out any issues. And to fill i use a long and short stitch. Blending is fun too. You are so sweet and creative keep it up 😊💜👍
Hi Henri! I'm actually planning to embroider my Chuck 70s as well and I found your vid when searching for tutorials. How difficult was the process and how long did it take you? I'm kinda scared to start bc I might fuck up my shoes haha. Thanks for the tip to print the design! This is super helpful.
It took me abt 6h on the shoe. The heel part is difficult but the rest is okay as long as you consider working with pliers. :) also depends on your design if you work on the high top parts it’s super easy the more you go down to the sole it’s getting more tricky
So little question, your printer is ink jet or is laser? I want to know because mine is ink jet and I scared that when I spray the water on the paper the ink is gonna bleed out to the fabric and stain it (Sorry for the bad English, not a native speaker)

When I have to sew through thick fabrics I use a medical clamp. It’s easier to manipulate than pliers and is just as strong.

You can always cut your embroidery open. And remover everything. Holes in the shoe will be barely visible since the material is so thick
