I got MBBS this year in a government medical college at 23 years of age. ( My college fees is Rs 500 per month )
3 Big Mistakes I did -
1) As you mentioned, I too tried to become over smart by doing coaching modules of Biology with the intent of doing all the questions, and ended up doing the simple questions from NCERT, wrong.
2) I could not complete the revision of entire syllabus in the last 3 months, which I feel is the most important part of the preparation phase
3) I used to skip tests just because my syllabus wouldn't get completed and it led to backlogs eventually

I used to waste a lot of time unknowingly for an instant pleasure but when I remembered all 206 bones names it gave me an unknown pleasure I can't explain and I was very excited for what will I learn next.......so frnds don't waste ur time for instant pleasures...jst be focused and u will definitely achieve whatever u want ✌️✌️

That case is everywhere. What Alakh sir mentioned is exactly we all face. I'm studying nicely and then when I reject my friend to play or something over studies he doesn't say a word. But when in any exam I fail to score nice , all friends are like "itna padh raha tha phir me marks nahi la paya "

someone i know tried this this strategy and let me tell you, this is effective he was successful in what he wanted to do.
but the catch is that he felt nothing after being selected, literally devoid of any emotion. when asked, he said it didnt felt like a moment of happiness cause it cost him a lot, including the losing of his life long friends and family.
so a lesson for y'all be focused on your aim but dont drain yourself to the point that you feel null even after all your hardwork.
