Hi just like to say how much I enjoy your videos & dry humour. Katie’s rowing better than an outboard motor. Please ignore the haters & arm chair warriors who do everything better! X
Let's make the SFC official!! I hereby second that motion! I love the sense of humor you both have and the incredible talent you have for composition and contrast in your beautiful nature shots. Much respect and love to the two of you. Love, Mary
You are so fortunate to be living in such majestic surroundings. Ignore the critical comments Scott if you can. They regretfully are part of opening your wonderful journey to the public, you have to take the good with the bad. I personally enjoy all of your vlogs and you both are hard working people. Thank you for you channel. 😊
Happy New Year! ❤ I seek out various blogs that allow me the opportunity to experience different countries from the comfort of my reclining chair. Thanks both of you for capturing the beautiful scenic views and for the relaxing way you present. I apologize for those "opinions and comments" of viewers that enjoy to offer criticism. Perhaps we should feel sorry for them. Please focus on the rest us...we get so much from this, for various reasons, we need to rely on beautiful posts you provide.
Tell the haters to get their own island and their own channel... then they can do everything "properly" and be "right" about everything, without having to go through the trouble of correcting you.
Brilliant vlog, thank you for sharing. Ignore the keyboard trolls, they obviously lead such sad lives that they have to have a go at others. I have seen it on other RUclips channels. We love watching your channel and are catching up at last. ❤
You two are great. Ignore the bad comments. I guarantee the ones who are commenting could not carry a bookcase a long ways. Keep up the great content. I look forward to watching you two.
I’m slowly catching up on all the island videos and I think you two are so cool, down to earth, great sense of banter, fun to watch and I just love your Chanel and the beautiful music. Happiness and successful rest of the year to you both, your cats and the adorable sheep.❤❤❤
Hi, I'm watching from Idaho also. I've been to Scotland and it was my favorite part of all Great Britain. BEAUTIFUL country. Hope you can also see it soon.😊
As per the comments...remember Murphy's Law. "If at first you don't succeed, you're about average!" Sheep are fussy enough to insist on a well-trimmed quill pen! The sunlight through the trees has a really magical quality. Have a great week! Blessed Be!
You certainly showcase your island to its absolute best. The landscape pictures are of such an extraordinary quality. They are magical. Happy New Year 🥳
As a much younger man I had the distinct pleasure of moving bookcases made of oak and mahogany and pine, these were about the size of the larger one you had and all I can say is they were bloody heavy so I feel your pain, and as for those who make comments about how easy it should be. NUTS
Watching from Penticton B.C Canada. Please ignore the negative Nelly comments ,always remember you are happy doing what you do best living on your Remote Island. I love watching how the 2 of you cope and get things done .Happy New year .
There’s always someone who could do everything better than everyone else, if only they gave it a go 😂. Love your channel, thank you for sharing your hard working heaven.
At 18:54 "to pen the animals in..." or to keep the animals out, we think. It does look like an area for cultivation and you have deer on the isle. If you decide to grow grain keep in mind that the field is near a deer path and you may not end up with grain unless you can put up 8' deer fencing. Just a thought. Here's another one: you have incredible scenery with wonderful color and you obviously know how to make the most of framing out the view. Why couldn't you, if you don't already, take stills of those views and sell the prints? Some of them are just breathtaking including the red and green contrast of that field as you first viewed it.
Who could fail not to give a thumbs up to this video. Love your explores round the island. Ignore the occasional buffoon who posts some negative comment. I'm afraid You Tube attracts them. Like midges they are just part of life I guess.🤨
Scott you did well putting the bookshelf yourself in the cabin well done mate.👍 Katie did your mum enjoy what you did to her old cookbook ? God bless you both 🙏
Scott, I really think there are so many people who constantly troll RUclips channels solely to make negative comments in order to make themselves feel superior.
I think the water divide between two islands could be called the straits. Love your bantering. I do so misss that way of just chatting. And what a wonderful place you live in and clearly love!
I used to listen to the song at 10:00 every night to fall asleep! There was once a harvinist who played at the market. My mother bought a cassette of Harven music from her in the 90s. I believe the woman's name was Betty Petterson. ❤❤
I watched you 2 as you lugged those cases over that rocky terrain , and thought to myself oh S--t thats some hard ass work there now. Good job. Love the channel. Music, scenery and all the day to day.
Don’t worry about the negative comments, every RUclips channel I watch mentions having negative comments, they choose to ignore them. If they (the negative ones) had a RUclips channel, they’d get bad comments too haha We love your channel!❤
Thank you! Thank you for sharing your wonderful, hard working adventures on the island. Please, please, please - ignore the trolls!!! They’re just jealous, green eyed, swirling pools of negative energy! Looking forward to watching you two reap the rewards of your hard work. ❤️ from Verona, Kentucky USA
So enjoyed your walk . So much to see. The scenery is amazing. I learn so much from the two of you. You live in an amazing place. The music is so soothing. Glad you found your scarf. Yay! So glad that I found your channel.
I love you two peeps! It makes my day watching your wee family (wooly /fur babies) I have a black rescue cat called Kali, she has a tiny little white bit of fur, like a wee star on her chest. She would love running around in the trees. God knows what she would bring as gifts, gifts where you are😂. She gives me dead stuff alot. Look forward to seeing you soon❤ Helen from Scotland. 😊
I love the channel ❤❤❤ The nature, the music, the humor… I watch your vlogs while I’m knitting a new sweater ans it makes it so cosy. You are such nice people to share all this. Thank you so much. (ps: Katie where do you buy your lovely dresses? 😊) Love, Marianne
just love your channel , always fun to watch and I am always learning something new from you both...re: the negative people with their good for nothing negative comments...just block them...theyre trolls...thanks for posting another great episode :)
Rowing across that flow has to be difficult. You certainly handle it well! I laughed when you called the sheep hooligan trying to get into the bag. Such endearing animals. It’s great to go exploring the island with you. Glad the scarf was found! Thanks so much!
That field looked good for crops but the one big flag is the deer use, they love free food. A nice Welsh would be OK up there. Have you thought of getting a currugh as a boat as quite light.
Brilliant channel. Thank for sharing part of your life with us. Ps my father was an antique dealer for 50 plus years, and he and us kids moved furniture the same way as you. Detractors detract. Best wishes
Hi to you both . Loved the content of your video, such amazing scenery with the music . And your two lovely sheep , how excited they were with there new bag of food . I was really expecting to see snow , but it does still look mild . Thankyou . Look forward to seeing you soon. 😘
People are so odd. Why not just watch and enjoy rather than having to insert your opinions into the comments? This is not about you. You really don't need to argue with the lives of other people.
Happy New Year from Northwest British Columbia!!! Don't worry Scott, the Internet will always say your wrong. LOL . think Katie you should be the first Chair of the SFC. You could "caw" the meeting to order. Oh my, I'm so sorry!! I will see myself out. LOL. All the best, please keep the videos coming.

Hello! I found your sight as I was recuperating from surgery and have THOROUGHLY enjoyed bing watching your videos. Your cottage reminds me of our cabin. We cannot drive to our cabin, thus we walk about 3/4 of a mile to reach our little piece of paradise at the head of the best fly fishing in Pennsylvania, USA. Our walk consists of walked over a train trestle and through a tunnel to get to the line shack (where railroad tools were kept) that was turned into a cabin (NO electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing). As a child (late 1960s - early 1970s), the logging train was still in operation twice a week. Because the tracks were still there we used a pumpcart that rode on the rails. The tracks were removed in1976. Since then we have tried various utility carts to carry EVERYTHING needed for a stay at camp. We have decided the most durable and easiest to push or pull is the "Tipke 2100 Marine Fold-It Utility Cart" as found on Amazon (in the US). I wish you both well and need to get back to the videos! I have a few to finish before tomorrow! :) Blessings, Terri www.amazon.com/Tipke-2100-Marine-Fold-Utility/dp/B00006LPPJ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1GXVST9MNHTPZ&keywords=Tipke%2B2100%2BMarine%2BFold-it%2BCart&qid=1706472074&sprefix=tipke%2B2100%2Bmarine%2Bfold-it%2Bcart%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3&th=1
Ill thoughts sent your way are good compost material. Straight into the shitter so to speak. Now on to clean it up a bit, lovely post in so many ways. Enjoyed your video shopping and doing the tourist thingy. For me, there is huge potential for cooking the old Scottish way...nothing fancy, just a little frying or basting here and there. Would love to see you plant that area you visited. And your lovely handiwork with leather is so interesting to watch, more please. 😍
Love your vloggs. Omg it's got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Thank you so much for letting us see your beautiful island. Ps guess You won't plant wheat on the red deers bed. Maybe plant a trap cam. Good content if film them napping.
My hand mill is from the 1970s, don’t use it much because mixer has a piece that I can attach and use. I make a mix of barley, lentils flax with my grains. For the liquid in my bread I use the whey from my kefir cheese making for the extra protein
I visited doune castle several years ago on my many visits to Scotland. Beautiful country. Of course there were many distilleries as well😉 that were a must to taste
Hello from Los Angeles California 😎 it is 67° today and to me its cold ! ...the beauty that surrounds you is amazing thank you for sharing it with us . I think its funny that you respond to people who are insulting 😂 you probably shouldnt feed into those 'Troll's' but you are funny and you made me laugh 👍
Lovely winter weather! How big is the island? (I'm thinking about ca. how long and wide, not square meters.) Regarding the "negative" comments; I don't think you should put it all into a "haters bucket". I'm sure a lot of it is only ment as helpful suggestions. There's a lot of ways that will lead you to Rome. Take use of the good ideas, and leave the rest. After all,the comment section on the internet is a Pandoras box.
I've got about 8 big buckets of white , and red wheat berry that i mill for flour and the difference between store bought wheat flour and doing it your self is so different. Much better to do your own for sure ❤
Get solid wheels for the barrows, much better on rough terrain. I got scunnered with the number of punctures my barrow used to get, pyracantha in the hedge being the worst offender! I follow a Japanese couple on mountain land they have a fabulous powered barrow, no idea how you’d get it over there though! x
Hi Scott and Katie, really enjoyed 39, we are traveling to Scotland on the 23rd from hot sunny Africa and I'll be in Sterling for a few days, can we donate some seeds for your future vegetable garden. Do we need a postbox?
Firstly. Happy New year, are we thinking of the walled enclosure the wrong way round, flattening. To me suggest cultivation or sorts. I think Kay and her idea of growing on that spot is corect. Was the wall to keep live stick out. Stop crop damage

Corvids are fascinating birds but watching a channel about crows would be murder 😂
The SFC would not be pleased! 😆
😂
So beautiful there!😊
You read my mind!
🤣🤣🤣 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛
And an unkindness to be made to watch a show on ravens 😂
Happy New Year! ❤

I love that Katie was at the Holy Grail castle! Now go away before I taunt you a second time! 🏰
Son of a window dresser!
Your getting good at the editing, ignore the negative comments! Beautiful scenery!
Some people just like to piss and moan. Oh no, that was supposed to be my inside voice 😇
Would the deer eat the wheat berries?
Very gentlemanly of you to do the hauling
I'd love a pretentious sheep. Your's are so cute with such awesome personalities. Beautiful scenery, photographer's and artist's paradise!
We have several thousand sheep and I have never seen one try to open a package in the manner shown.
She gives a 'paw', too, Alex! Pretentious hooligan, that one! Kx

Hello from Idaho USA. My last name is McEntire. My family comes from the Highlands of Scotland. I hope to visit someday
I hope you do! Kx
Hi, I'm watching from Idaho also. I've been to Scotland and it was my favorite part of all Great Britain. BEAUTIFUL country. Hope you can also see it soon.😊
Y’all are hilarious and quick witted, hence intelligent! Thanks for every beautiful vlog! ❤🌿
Love your videos you both have a gentle calm presence love the stories you tell the humour
my neighbors hate crows, so I feed the crows...you guys live in a wonderland
Such beautiful music to match the amazing scenery.
I had that problem with wheelbarrows. I recommend solid tyres every time.
Funny I had thought earlier in video, that you need to be careful that your scarf doesnt drop out of your pocket 😊😊😊 so glad you found it .
As per the comments...remember Murphy's Law. "If at first you don't succeed, you're about average!"

I always used solid wheel wheelbarrows because of puncture / air loss at the most inconvenient times.
There’s always someone who could do everything better than everyone else, if only they gave it a go 😂. Love your channel, thank you for sharing your hard working heaven.
I don't think there are many who would trade places with them. Their endeavor is daunting, to say the least.
@@marylyon1230 but the rewards are great. I really admire their work ethic and determination to make their lives in such a beautiful, peaceful place.

Wow, it's so lovely to hear that connection. ❤️
They should make a spoof called “Inlander”.
❤️
I watched you 2 as you lugged those cases over that rocky terrain , and thought to myself oh S--t thats some hard ass work there now. Good job. Love the channel. Music, scenery and all the day to day.
The island is breathtakingly beautiful. So glad you found your scarf. I would have been upset to loose it too.
Water between two island might be a strait. Really enjoy this channel.
Don’t worry about the negative comments, every RUclips channel I watch mentions having negative comments, they choose to ignore them.
If they (the negative ones) had a RUclips channel, they’d get bad comments too haha
We love your channel!❤
A strait is a narrow waterway between two pieces of land that connects two large bodies of water. ♥
Estuary is the word you sought.
A lot of lugging over there....Every corner a painting.
Watching your video today, I find myself longing to paint the beautiful landscapes on your island. Thank you for sharing with us.

It would be great to see a trail cam setup to record the deer!🦌 🦌🦌 happy new year to you both
Same to you! A trail cam is a good idea. Kx

Your videos are great and I love the music choices.
Glad you like them!
That field looked good for crops but the one big flag is the deer use, they love free food. A nice Welsh would be OK up there. Have you thought of getting a currugh as a boat as quite light.
Sorry type of boat is currach.
Brilliant channel. Thank for sharing part of your life with us. Ps my father was an antique dealer for 50 plus years, and he and us kids moved furniture the same way as you. Detractors detract. Best wishes

Oh dear... LOL 😂 Bad puns are a serious caws for concern in the SFC. Kx
Always interesting and informative but mostly fun thanks you two
Love the Isle of Mull, not quite as remote! I think your both incredibly brave to be even attempting this. Renovation of a Devon cob cottage was a big enough chunk for my partner & I in our early 40's, didnt finish for 8 years & found its enough to test any relationship, wallet & most of all terribly physically draining, I sincerely wish you both strength & fortitude. Are you on the Island of Carna?
Buying a pony or horse is the cheapest part of having one as you likely know. It’s the feed, hay and vet bills that make them expensive.
Thank you 😊
Do you guys do any fishing it looks perfect for it ??
We need to purchase the tackle first!
The collers on this video are so Beutiful Unbelivebel that you stil got Beutiful weather In Holland it,s raining for weeks and now wintery showers and cold minus 2 Evrything is so Wonderful on youre island stay safe and i hope the weather stay like thisfor a while
Deer will certainly enjoy your wheat if you grow it 😮
I wish I could love this as a suggestion. Awesome blog this weekend. Love you two and your humour is spot on. From Alberta, Canada.

The nor-west of the island is spectacular.
The climate appears quite mild where you are, a frost or 3 and rain.
ps. I have to say @22:33 was really funny :) 'Fantastic Crows society - ominvores" lol
Keep calm and ignore the haters! You're doing great!
By the way, how do you cope without a pub?😂
Saw those ridiculous comments Scott! Insufferable in their need to comment. Carry on!
I would totally ignore stupid comments like that!! Your great!!! Love from Indiana USA!

I just bought a vintage hand-crank one on ebay, Marie, which I'm excited about! Kx
Would that be a strait? Yes.
Happy New Year!
That paddock is a beautiful place for a cottage.
I was thinking the same--but also thought of a "passage or channel"??
❤️❤️❤️
I visited doune castle several years ago on my many visits to Scotland. Beautiful country. Of course there were many distilleries as well😉 that were a must to taste
What a beautiful place ❤ much love from Iceland
Dartmoor pony ruff and tuff as you like ❤
