- The snatch block with hook is a pulley system with covered and protected yet removable sides.
- It is possible to unscrew or remove one side, slip in the winch cable or rope and then re-protect the same side to prevent the cable from leaving the groove.
- It has either a hook or a shackle at it’s tip.
- Wire rope snatch blocks or pulleys are used to change the direction of the pull to a different angle relative to a fixed point.
They are also used to create more complex pulley structures and gain mechanical advantage.
- A pull of 10 lbs can be changed to a pull of 80 or even 800 lbs depending upon the mechanical advantage offered by the pulley structure.

I just realized, I bought high visibility green skates from your company.
You should try fixing the car and putting it in a parking space with cars around it and show us how to pull it out of a space with cars around it in a open area anybody and grab it
The block should not be attached to the same vehicle. A separate anchor point is what multiplies the working limit. In this scenario a choker should be used around a parking Ballard and then connected to the block. This video shows a winch working 1:1. Not 2:1. Since the load is being pulled and redirected on the same platform this is simply a pogo stick or redirect.
Thats exactly what it does. 🤷♂️😅
Rookies 😅
It's not called a jaw its a side plate
I don’t like how he set it up not get it out a situation he was trying to explain about
is it ok to winch at an angle with an aluminum bed?
Yes. Do what you gotta do to get that paper baby 💪🏽💪🏽
@@larrygonzales7410 As long as the operator is aware of the risks hes taking with the equipment, go for it.
Gotta have the tools 🧰
That truck they’re using is an aluminum bed
i wouldn’t use the aluminum decks for heavy snatching but for this application it’s ok. We only buy steel decks bc we do a lot of recovery and accidents and the chain pockets are stronger. We carry 2 snatch blocks per truck,75 ft of cable and 100ft of chain just in case.
