Just ordered this to rewatch (in my case) with my son who’s finally old enough to understand the series and deal with its content. Given that the last couple of seasons of my original viewing were watched via NowTV, rendering the dark episodes/scenes all but unwatchable, it was either pay for a 1080p digital version via iTunes or pay the same money for 4K and make use of the Dolby Vision capable TV and UHD BR player. Appreciate getting a look inside the box, and appetite whetted for the newer bonus features as well.
This looks okay, thanks for the upload - is was a real help for me in deciding between this and the Steelbook. As the Steelbook for Series 8 apparently has, for some weird reason, stacked discs and also has the bonus discs crammed in the same case it'll be this version I'll be going for, When I do get around to buying this if whomever I buy it from sends me Stacked Discs it'll be going back. Oh, and NO dents to the box - basic that: is it not?
I have the Best Buy Steelcase version from the US. The discs are pretty much the same as in this unit, with their own panel for each disc. I'm not usually one to pony up for the steelcase versions, but this one was on sale for $170 so it was a no-brainer. Packaging looks way nicer than the standard, that's for sure.
@@norwegianblue2017 I've gone ahead and got this version - I'm one episode away from finishing Series One. This Box Set has 9 Cases (an extra for the bonus discs) where the Steelbook, as far as I know, only has 8 - with the bonus discs stacked in there - which put me off. I'm enjoy the extra clarity - to both picture and sound - that the disks bring over streaming, So far so goooood.
@@andyr906 Well what do you know, the bonus discs ARE stacked! Hadn't gotten that far yet, so I stand corrected. However, seems a pretty minor thing. They are pretty snugly fitted to the center ring and don't appear to be rubbing or anything. I have seen other stacked discs that were quite loose in comparison.
@@norwegianblue2017 I think at the price you got the Steelbook at it was indeed a no-brainer - it was cheaper than my Box Set and around £100 cheaper than the Steelbook is here in the UK. At that price I'd've went for the Steelbook - I agree it does look better.
You know I told someone Redo of Healer was 18 +-DSV in the US and they said "That's what Game of Thrones should be with an added L". So it's funny that it is 18 in the UK!
*I'm kinda regretting I bought it: not only we no longer have that option that allows you to play each episode seamlessly, without any interruptions as you change from one disc to the next one, but I also find myself watching some bits that look as if I'm watching a regular/mediocre Blu-ray version or, much worse, a DVD or a VHS cassette: in season 2, for instance, there's a scene (I can't remember the number of the episode), in which Cersei confronts Tyrion about him sending Myrcella to Dorne; I swear to God it was as if I was watching some shitty recording from a 90s TV show on VHS; simply appalling.* *If anyone reading this has it too, I'd really appreciate if you let me know whether I'm the only victim of this betrayal or not. Thank you very much in advance!*
