Depends if this takes place long after 3 or not. Liara can reach 1000 years age, so it's hard to know now. Hopefully the game will take place after events of the third..

@@man1ak51 it might be that or the fact the Liara is one of the few characters that pretty much can't die in th series so they aren't showing any other characters in case they are dead

@@friendlyreaper9012 even in it take long from me3 ending - with Liara - Grunt, Samara, can be alive also too, and Jack & Miranda - also can still be alive, because of most progressive biotic power, wich increase long life

@@РоманРовнинин There is no mention ( if i recall ) of Biotics increasing lifespan. But based on the Codex within Mass Effect Humans can live up to 150 years. And this might increase since their recent introduction into the galactic community.
But Liara has visible rinkels within this trailer so its highly possible she'll be in her final stage of life. So its unlikely we'll see any of the old crew if the game takes place more then 100 - 150 years later.

looks to me like Liara is looking for Shepard. i mean what else does the smile after finding the N7 armor say? hopefully not some cheesy reminiscing on the good times type of shit.

Since the last game came out in 2012, what if this one comes out in 2022 and takes place exactly 10 years after the war with the reapers? Everyone we saved should still be alive, just a little older, aside from asari and krogan, since they don't really age.

  • @CarlosHuiskens

Yes its definitely Liara and she looks a bit older. Also it has been confirmed that two galaxies were shown in the beginning intentionally. She was also walking on Reaper corpses with one of them visible in the background. And somebody pointed out that one of the character in the last shot has similar body type features like an Angaran from Mass Effect: Andromeda. Now based on some of this information we can speculate a few things.
    - The game will most likely take place after the original trilogy. But seemingly makes the Destroy ending ''canon''
    - Liara will seemingly play a big part in this upcoming game
    - Knowing two galaxies were shown implies that the Andromeda galaxy will be involved somehow
    - Also knowing that Asari can live more then a thousand year they could use Liara to bridge the gap.
The only thing we don't know is how much will Commander Shepard be involved. I think that Bioware badly wants to move on from his character while keeping the spirit of Mass Effect still alive.

I have a strong feeling this game's plot is going to be BIG, maybe even bridging the gap between it and Mass Effect Andromeda. BioWare already stated back in 2017 that Mass Effect Andromeda is not the beginning of a new trilogy.
About your theory on BioWare wanting to move on from Shepard, you could be right, because before Mass Effect 3 released back in 2012, BioWare in 2011 stated that Mass Effect 3 is the finale of Commander Shepard's story, which is why they moved on to Pathfinder Ryder in Mass Effect Andromeda. But in Mass Effect 3's ending, on the part when the game reveals that sometime in the future, an old man was telling his grandson the story of Commander Shepard in the middle of the night in a field of snow. The old man hinted to his grandson that Shepard had one more story after the defeat of the Reapers. Maybe this is it, the true finale of Shepard's story.

So, keep in mind that the ME Trilogy and Andromeda *are already linked* through Liara. Towards the end of Andromeda you start unlocking additional memories and messages your father had sealed away, and most of them are communications with Liara. So Liara is definitely aware of the Andromeda Project's existence, and was communicating with them up until the Reaper invasion while the Arks were in Dark Space. My belief is that there will be more connection to Andromeda (perhaps a Mass Relay that somehow connects across Dark Space), but the game's story will _start_ with events that happen shortly after the end of ME3.
