Michael is a proud father and loving husband with a bottomless pool of material about his family. In stand up, Michael came up under the wings of Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy and now headlines all over the country. He also appeared on season 15 of America's Got Talent ( • Michael Yo Gets the Au... ); Michael received a yes from all four judges and made it to the Quarter-Finals.
As an actor, Michael stars as Philip Brown in the Apple TV+ series “Amber Brown,” recurred on “Kevin Can Wait,” shot the Damon Wayan Jr.’s pilot “Happy Together” for CBS, and was a principal in Facebook Watch’s first sitcom series, “Starter Pack.” Michael previously covered celebrity news on “The Insider,” “Extra” and “E! News.” He also coached Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian as radio DJs for their show “Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami” on E! Michael has co-hosted CBS’ “The Talk” and continues to appear as a hot topics guest on “The Wendy Williams Show.”

How did your parents meet? Where did your dad grow up? My dad is Black from South Carolina and grew up in segregation and lied about his age in joined the Air Force and went to Korean War when he was 15. When he came back and saw that things were still so bad, he joined the Navy and did 3 tours in Vietnam and retired in 1973. My parents met in Japan when he was stationed in Sasebo, Japan on a blind date. I also have panda children, a son and a daughter that are also 3 years apart. My kids are Portguese, Czech, Polish, Black, and Japanese.

I love how they congregate together… such an awesome family. As an Asian born American citizen…. Having immigrant parents it isn’t always easy. The way My Korean mom is, when she isn’t happy with you she will curse you off in Korean… the thing is she doesn’t think I know what she says but I do. When I repeat it back in English around her friends or whoever. She would turn bright red. I would be honest with her because she is honest with me. She hates it when I do that. Has your mom done that with you?
