I just set up MY ultimate tool belt.. replaced the same main bag I had and loved for so many years. I went all out this time around tho. I went with 3" belt, full sheepskin liner and stronghold padded suspenders. For bags... 5611 green and black builders fastener bag (like big oxy with tape holder, just smaller) 5589 electricians bag. Low profile with lots of tool holders and a safe place for my phone. Lol 5545 strip nail holder 5527 offset snip holder 5518 no slap hammer holder 8575 vest gear pocket for the suspenders And finished it off with a back buddy. Yes it actually DOES fit the full sheepskin liner. Gotta roll the liner up to get it through. Not easy but it will go and fit perfectly. I'm waiting on a package of leather rivet screws. I'm going to secure all bags and accessories to the belt. Like rivets, but can easily be removed if I want to change the orientation of the bags. I also set up a second small belt.. dang these oxy bags are addicting 😂 5100 cabinet makers belt caddy 4 in 1 tape holder Regular high rise hammer holder 9922 iron worker 2 pocket fastener bad. As long as they dont walk away... they should last till I retire.
Is not for snips, it’s for your hammer. It’s a no slap hammer holster I use it and it doesn’t slap the back of my knee anymore and you can use a stiletto TIbone with the axe handle. Mine slides in and out perfectly fine after a week of breaking in the leather
The best, so many different options, excellent craftsmanship. The newer combination leather/ cordura bags from occy aren't as heavy. Suspenders are great
I don't like their designs that much and I reached out to them about those products and they just ignored my message and never replied. I don't think I'll be getting any of their products anytime soon myself.
Some people love you James! The snips pouch is really the no slap hammer holder. The hip buddies are fabulous with suspenders... they take a few days to get to form to you but then they are so comfy. The two extra loops are basically extras. Nice stuff you were sent. All you're missing is the tape holder. I have the occidental black framer, the same drywall setup and the electrician setup. All leather. I have 3 full belts plus the suspenders you have in addition also have the smaller suspenders. I also have the 5 in 1, the 4 in one and the small two pouch bag that I use for in house reno work. Good video.
I have the suspenders on my set up that doesnt have any black on it. The shoulder pads are moveable and I think sheepskin on the bottom? Thinking of getting these suspenders or the oxy light ones.
@@bri_guy508 I have the suspenders with the leather and black cushion shoulder yoke. I also have the oxylights. I mainly use the yoked ones as they are just more comfy overall. I’ve heard they end up stinking and need washing, but hasn’t happened to me yet. The oxylights are basically of the same cushion material, so i presume they would end up stinky too. I also don’t like the left over strap once adjusted. That’s a real minor issue though. No regrets on either but i wear the leather/yoked ones all the time. Suspenders make a big difference overall. Makes a heavy loaded belt feel lighter. Makes pulling pants less of a bother. Either belt is good
I use CLC leather bags, they're about fifty dollars apiece. I've tried Occidental, there is just too much leather, and for me, the tool placement is goofy. I'm a carpenter, but I side, hang drywall, doors and windows, a little framing, soffit. I've got to carry a lot of different tools for different days. But I like the Occidental padded suspenders. They're a little hot on humid days, but they really take the load off of your hips. I've also got the Occidental belt running through the CLC bags; I like that there is just one spike in the buckle, and the belt will probably last forever, or as long as I need it to. I'm 63 years old, and I don't anticipate buying much in the future until retirement. I like your channel, keep it up.
Switched out a lousy set of dead-ons for the Occidental pro framer set. Best investment I've ever made! Hope things are going good for you guys in the PNW😁
I’m a union carpenter from Chicago. I wear the occidental leather framers. No suspenders for me not a fan. But the hip pads look pretty nice. Might have to give those a try. Good video👍🏼
I got the three pouch fasteners pouch, the old lather pouch with the hammer ring up front, rock the double pouch in the back, sears two hole leAther belt, have a carabiner in front for my clamps. I don’t really like suspenders. Always run occidental! Never tried the back buddy or the sheep skin.
Good video. I have been thinking of picking up the seven bag framer with suspenders and hip buddies. You're videos are probably the most in detailed videos on RUclips for occidental pouches. I currently switch between the bucket boss framing setup and klein bags. I am a union tinknocker in buffalo N.Y. and need a belt that adjust periodically. To accommodate carharts for five months of the year.
Love the suspenders. I highly recommend giving them a shot. I always thought they looked a bit clunky but it's much better on my hips, belly and back lol. Peace!
Nice got the same drywall pouch and 3 pouch bag but in black. Got the Occidental brand because that video you made a long time when you got them for the squanch.
Occidental leather tool bags have one very serious fundamental design flaw. They use very beautiful full grain leather but they don't use it to best advantage for maximum life. The full grain/hair side of the leather should be the inside of the bag where cut resistance is needed. The flesh side of the leather should be the outside of the bag where abrasion resistance is needed. If you look at a used Occidental tool bags the full grain side exterior is abraded sometimes completely away. The full grain side is where the real strength and cut resistance is. The flesh/rough out side is not as cut resistant but is very abrasion resistant. For example look at how much damage can be done to a good pair full grain leather boots doing one steep asphalt roof. But but roofers boots made of rough out leather last for along time with almost no noticeable abrasion.
bryan paul Contact them and they will send you the product. I use saddle soap to knock down the grunge and apply the stain when dry. If you want the luster, buff with neutral shoe polish.
Nice new rig. I have the the Occidental 5191 with the same suspender harness you bought. The suspenders have made a world of difference in getting the weight off of my hips. I find that Diamondback and Buckaroo bags are too narrow and not yielding as Occidental.
Love your videos man I am a commercial framer I was planning on getting some occidentals soon but then I came across diamondback have you heard of them and what do you think
I've heard of them. They look tough. I reached out to them to check out some bags and maybe do a review. They read my email but never replied. I've looked at the configuration and couldn't see anything I liked from pics or video. People seem to like them. They are probably lighter and maybe last longer if you judge from the videos of them trying to cut the materials. If you see a set up from them that looks like it would work for you then I'd give it a try. Which set up were you thinking about getting?
i like the diamondback bags and really like there belts so comfy. i do feel like they are a little steep on the price for what u get but i have only had myn for a year everyday resi framing and some concrete they have held up great
look at boulder bags. mine have lasted my whole apprenticeship, bout to journey out and hope to get another year out of them. I have the ultimate framer, took one bag off and the hammer loop and use them seperate when hanging.

I'm getting kinda sick of my occi setup. Am drooling at badger but not sure I wanna drop that money. I'm a full time framer in MA.
Just ordered me a set of
The snip holder is the no slap hammer holder I think
Great video I would like some more info on the hip buddies
The last pouch is a no slap hammer holder😄
The pouch you thought was a snip holder is for a hammer!

Hey brother, did you try another brand on the market than occidental?
I know it's the best and better on the market, but is not the only one bro!
Finally someone with a occidental addiction like myself 👍👊
Same i have two sets and i like mixing them around, keeps they joy of work going
I have the same set up it's the best set up I've had occidental all day 🙌 Carpenter union local 805
2:15 that’s a hammer loop if you don’t like the ring
I like the new bags and setup. Super nice.
I hope I like them, I just bought that exact thing
The best, so many different options, excellent craftsmanship. The newer combination leather/ cordura bags from occy aren't as heavy. Suspenders are great
My dude, you should look into a diamondback toolbelts. The durability on them is un-real and they have a set up for your trade as well.
I don't like their designs that much and I reached out to them about those products and they just ignored my message and never replied.
I don't think I'll be getting any of their products anytime soon myself.
Can you get me suspenders ?
I can’t do the suspenders they kill my back, drywall pouch, sheepskin and the 3 pouch. Hang, frame, and grid. Works well for me!
Same I can't do the suspenders either. Cuts into my traps during the day. Plus I like the feel of the bags on my hips

Doing good out here! Loving life. Just busy but that's a good thing! Thanks for stopping by friend!
I'm going from dead ons to fat lips myself , the dead ons working great , but only bought them because I was in a pinch and needed pouches quick.
I have the 7 bag framers green and leather and i dont wear suspenders they restrict my mobility while working
On your big oxys If you contact occidental I think they’ll replace the pouch.
What is the function of the hip buddies? Can you tell the difference? Do you recommend them?
The cushion the bags to your hips. Actually really nice to have. I would recommend them you can tell a difference for sure
@@NomadicINK The sheepskin lined ones are the tits, 👍😁 🇮🇪 🇺🇸

Love the bags. I wish I was using those bags
After trying suspenders a couple of years ago I'll never go back.
Bama Backroads Suspenders are awesome, yeah i just turned 50 in September but I wish I was using them 30 years ago and saved my back
I wonder if Occidental would sell people some of their leather dye/polish so folks could bring their pouches back to life and get that nice color back

Hey you should check out Bob’s Leather. They have riveted bags and pouches. I definitely recommend
You can’t buy these on the uk, to get them sent from America, they are charging around £600. Very expensive
Thats lame. What do you guys get out there?
A lot guys are using makita pouches, kuynes, Stanley or a home grown brand called cutting edge, you get a good quality set for around £80

Good leather bags too heavy for hanging drywall though all wall leather for me
