I had to mute the sound in order to watch though, as any form of microphone enhanced sound hurts my ears horribly but the recipe is still one that I want to try!

I'm sure you've already found out by now, but in case you haven't: an air fryer is not a real fryer and will thus never be able to fry food. If something is pre-fried once, like one does to something like french fries, then you can bake them instead of frying them a second time. An air fryer does exactly that: baking it. Think of it like a small convection oven, rather than a fryer.
