You have to put butts in the seats before teams can start to increase pay. Somehow they forgot to mention that the WNBA as a whole looses about 10 million dollars a year, the league has to turn a profit before they can start paying players larger salaries. They also didn't mention that the NBA gives 60 million dollars towards WNBA players salaries, if you're going to attack the pay difference you have to break down the reasons why it exists.

I think its much more comfortable to sell yourself a lie as oppose to truth. Women on that show have built such a false narrative in their heads that they refuse to acknowledge the fact that the WNBA does loose millions every year. Maybe they just don't know and they are ignorant. Which is worse in a way, because you should never talk about a subject if you know nothing of it.

Its not fun to watch people shoot layups and miss half of them. 99% of them cant dunk and cant shoot nearly as well as men.

Yes. WBA have the headlines, fans, the viewers, but you left out - not the profit.

That's why. According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth's Sanjesh Singh, the WNBA made $2 million in revenue in 2023.

I can't help but think of Gianna Bryant. If she had lived, she and her father would have fuelled the growth of the game and lifted everyone up with them.

76k for 3 months of work? I will take that in a heart beat. A "Pay Gap" implies that there is a comparison within the same company, but the WNBA is a seperate, unaffiliated organization than the NBA so there can be no "pay gap".
Next, last year's revenue for the NBA was $10 BILLION, while the WNBA was $60 MILLION. That's a difference of almost 200x; thus you would expect the average salaries of the NBA to be at least 200 times more than the WNBA.
The fact is that WNBA salaries are too high. The proof is that the league loses money every year, and has to be subsidized by the NBA.
Comparing today's WNBA salary to today's NBA is crazy; the better comparison would be todays WNBA, to the NBA salaries of 1980. In 1980, the NBA had revenue of $180 million, and an average salary of 180k per player.
The wnba is inferior, in every way, for all levels of men's basketball, and is a real horror to watch. Improve the entertainment value, on the court, and the dollars will eventually follow. That's what happened with the NBA.

All emotions with no understanding of how Math works. They are outraged over something that can easily be explained. The WNBA is not profitable. Period, end of story. The new crop of girls who just got drafted can be a new beginning because those girls are super-stars which will now bring the attention/ratings the WNBA needs in order to pay these women. And there is more women in this country than men, if you'll care so much about the pay gap between the NBA and WNBA then ladies watch the actual WNBA sport.

WNBA was forced on each NBA owner, if they you were an NBA owner you had to have a women's team. Most of these women's teams lose money. How can you expect to increase the pay of women players if they can't make money?

Nurses and doctors make less than her with her endorsements. Imagine how healthy our society could be if we paid health care like we pay basketball players.
