Garth Brook - Ain't Goin' Down 1992 Dallas Texas "This is Garth" concert
Nominations: Academy of Country Music Award for Single of the Year, Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance
Troyal Garth Brooks is an American country music singer and songwriter. His integration of rock and pop elements into the country genre has earned him popularity, particularly in the United States with ... Wikipedia
Garth used to go sit in those nose bleed sections to see the view for himself and try to make sure those people got a good show too
I saw Garth in Germany when I was in the Army. Garth would run around the stage, jump up onto the lighting cable bundle, climb up while singing and shake hands with people sitting in the nose bleeds behind the stage. It was incredible how much he loves his fans
I was going to make the similar comment. I think his words were he wanted everybody to experience the same concert no matter where they sat. Truly one of the greatest entertainers of my lifetime.
Still does
He still does.
I am a hardcore metalhead, but Garth is still the best show I have ever seen. Loved him since I was a kid.
All his ticket prices are the same price. It's really luck where you get. He was here 5 years ago, every ticket was $79. He also buys the first 4 rows and his crew goes around and upgrades random people with them.
Right on dude, good music is good music
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers put on the best rock shows imo
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808
Well that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. Everybody has different tastes.
Totally agree. Grew up a metal head and my father suggested I go see Garth just to see what he was all about and is still in my top 5 shows of all time. Great reaction.
Garth Brooks said it himself.... He did stuff like this.. because he wanted EVERYONE to feel like they are part of the show... He said "The person in the back... is just as important as the person in the front" Now that is a true artist and beautiful human being!!
The lady playing the base is his sister. Also to show you how much he loves his fans, he is actually scared of heights! Hes concerts usually sold out in minutes!
In his first TV special, he talked about how he wanted to make sure even the people in the nosebleeds felt like they were part of the show.
Garth has said many a time over that he was heavily influenced by Kiss for his stage show. Word has it that upon hearing this, Paul Stanley went to see his show and then said "if we even influenced 1% of what I saw tonight, we did our job."
Garth is my favorite country artist ever he’s one of the best performers to ever do it!!!
Same
Welcome to GARTH!!! He changed music forever...
He's phenomenal live!!! You never know what cray stuff he's going to do. I have seen him live 3 times, the first time was in Central Park. Nearly 1 million people, free concert
980, 000 to be exact, which is nuts
TakersSoulGirl22 I don't think there's a way to really get an exact number on that
I’ve seen Garth live 5 times and let me tell ya it is DEFINITELY a party!!!! He is AMAZING!!!!! 😍
Hell ya!!! Keep Garth coming… So many hits to listen too!!
I'm a rock/metal girl but my boyfriend took me to see Garth last August and he put on a helluva show. He sold out Memorial Stadium here in Nebraska 80,000 people and they never have concerts at Husker football stadium.. Absolutely a phenomenal performer. He plays crowds this size all the time and sells out every single time. He definitely loves and appreciate his fans
I was 16 when this was filmed. I used to hang out at his gate in Goodlettsville TN at that time. Met him MANY times, bc he would stop and talk if he was arriving home, or would come outside the gate to talk if he saw me on his camera.. His mother was visiting him after this special aired, and she came down and we talked for a while. I asked her what she thought of the flying routine, she said that during rehearsing, she would run underneath him, as if she could catch him if he fell… he was such a cool guy who never met a stranger,, and still is like that
Garth is STILL performing with the same level of intensity.. It's a GREAT show! He does a thing now where he goes to the nose bleeds and give random people a shirt that says 'high friends in low places' and brings them down the first or second row for the entire show. Sometimes he also opens up his sound checks to the public for those who maybe cannot afford tickets or just didn't get them in time because he's always sold out.. Fan or not, he puts on a damn good show!
He left touring recording everything for about 14- 16years to raise his daughters, when he came back to music a few years ago he was worried the fans wouldn't care or be there for him. I think his first concert back on the road sold out in like 2hours just as every concert he has done since. I believe one recently sold out in minutes. He is still the BEST EVER.
The greatest concert I've ever seen was in 91, Garth Brooks in Arrowhead stadium in Kansas City, amazing. Zip lining everywhere.. He cares about his fans & if you were way up in the nose bleed section, he wanted you to experience it as if you were sitting on the front row... Incredible live show...
Garth Brooks concert is the funnest concert you will EVER go to!! Was at his concert and was entertained from the moment it began!!!
There is an old interview with Garth where he was sitting in the nosebleed of this arena, and he said something along the lines of "I like to put myself in every viewers position and think to myself, What can I do to give this person the best show possible." and he came up with this stunt.
I saw him live in 1998 in Philadelphia. The start of this concert had a white grand piano rise out of the ground, with what looked like him sitting at the bench playing. Then a few lines into the song, you see a cowboy hat appearing from the body of the piano as he ascended up through it.
Saw Garth in 1993 in Providence, Rhode Island, and in 2022 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. He is the most amazing talent ive ever seen. He was incredible,in 93,got to see Martina McBride open for him,and it was such an amazing show. Last year at Gillette,i was like 12 rows back, and he was still the phenomenal act he has always been, and when he and Trisha Yearwood sang Shallow at the end,it was awesome. Thank you Garth for entertaining me all these years.
I remember this concert was shown on tv. He brought a rock show to country music. During the show he would go clear around the stage singing to different parts of the audience and even jumped off the side and into the crowd. Him and his lead guitarist at one point smashed two acoustic guitars together and tossed them into the crowd. He removed a cymbal from the drummer set and handed it into the crowd. He semi retired for several years until he got a 5 year gig in Las Vegas for some ungodly amount. His wife and Alan Jackson finally talked him into playing our fair a couple years ago, as they had both made a few appearances there. He sold out the first show (15k seats) in less then a minute and was humbled by the sale and agreed to do a second show which also sold out in less then a minute.
I was at that show! It was filmed fora TV special! Great concert! I have never missed a tour. He is fantastic!! Thanks for the reaction! It was filed at Texas Stadium, so he flew quite away across the stadium!!
Master Entertainer…don’t think there will ever be someone like him ever again.
I implore anyone watch this and not smile😅. Garth really is a showman.... seeing him this fall in Vegas baby!!!
I saw him in concert in the early 90's and again 20+years later.. both were amazing shows.. He keeps his ticket prices affordable as they can be... Love him...
This dude reinvented what country should be. He felt that if anyone took $ the worked hard for, and purchased tickets, they needed to be completely entertained. He’d shoot out from under the stage, round stage - no one just saw the back. At his career height, he retired to stay home to raise his kids. Once the were grown, he started going out on the road again. No flying when I saw him last in 2014, but still a great show.
Saying he i flying! That's a Garth Brooks Concert... So much energy!
One of the best things about Garth Brooks concerts, is that he does not sell tickets to the first two rows of seats. The roadies go into the 300 level nosebleed seats and pull people out to go sit in the first two rows. Very cool!
Garth puts the best show on. He gives 150%
He really has a good time
I saw Garth in Cols., OH, in 1997 and paid $25 for my ticket. He kept selling out shows and added another one every 20 mins or so, he ended up playing for six nights. I saw him in 2019, in Knoxville, TN and paid $75. What is amazing is every seat was $75, no matter where it was.
That's exactly what seeing Garth Brooks is..a party 🥳 back them he would come to town for 2 or 3 concert dates in a row and we bought tickets to all of them, probably one of the best in concert, as far as country goes anyway.
This man ,Garth Brooks, did a concert in New York central Park, which was a free concert, and drew over 750,000 people! IN NEW YORK CITY!
I saw Garth Brooks in I believe 96 and it was the best concert EVER. At that time the tickets were $18.50 each because he knew his fans couldn’t afford high ticket prices. Great show great man
There is no show like a Garth Brooks concert. He's Won Entertainer of The Year 7 times. His philosophy is that "people pay their hard earned money to come and see me. I'm going to give them the best show they've ever seen." He gives it all whether he's playing at a county fair (he's been to ours 3 times) or if hes playing in a stadium of 100,000 people.
So earlier in the show, he set the stage on fire during his song Standing Outside the Fire, and made it rain during the Thunder Rolls. No lie
You should see the one where he crowd surfs. He kept right on singing and they never even knocked his hat off. I think that was The River.
94 Portland Or I got to sing this with Garth. BEST DAY EVER!
With Garth Brooks he sells out so fast the only tickets we could get was the last row in the nose bleed section. (And we would have paid more to get good seats). That was before he starting flying all the way in the back. He has always lifted off the stage. He grew up listening to rock and didn’t understand why country stars didn’t do to the special effects., so he started doing this type of concert.
I've seen him live in the 90's & he is amazing. I've seen another version of this live where before it starts, he is shot like a rocket out of the floor, a good 20 feet in the air, before he comes down. It's wild! LOL And for the record, nobody parties like country folks. LOL
I was at that show in 92 and he flew to within 10 feet of me. Suspended right in front of my eyes and I went nuts. Who does this!!!!
Just add to the impressiveness of him flying across the stadium, while setting the lighting rig came crashing down from the roof.
Steve Hoover...Hardcore, Bible thumpin Southern Baptist preacher here ( we are not all that bad) ... YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!...I came for the reaction videos and stayed for your music! WOW! You guys just impress me!
Guys, I know this was 6months ago but I just watched this and my wife walked in and she was like, I was there at that show!! She went to 3 of the 4 shows that he did at the old Texas stadium. Loved watching your reaction to this video!!!
I saw garth in 2022. An amazing cincert for sure. Hes still singing in Vegas.
I just watched netflix doc on Garth and it was amazing!! He says he wants Everyone in audience to have a one on one with him!! I think he got it!! and the concert goers too!!
I swear, even if you didn’t like country you’d still have fun at a Garth Brooks show. He’s such an entertainer
entertainer of the year that year for a reason. he puts on the best stage performances in Country music EVER! that whole TV concert was awesome
Saw Garth in 98 and it was one hell of a concert. Lots of great songs
You guys crack me up...He ain't just flying ...He's flyin!!
I was a senior in college when this came out (Garth did look great in a pair of Wrangler jeans! 😁) We learned the words to this sung - 30 years later, still know them. Garth was the greatest cross-over artist. I doubt he's flying over stadiums anymore - he's 60 years old now. But I'm sure his concerts are still amazing!
My non country brother went to a garth concert ×itg a friend. His first words when he came back were" that guys psycho! I love him!"
Actually it was a tv special. When I watched it back then it made me realize what an amazing talented artist that he is. I love 💕 Garth Brooks
Garth Brooks knew how to put on a dam show. The best Entertainers of his Music Generation for Country. He can Sang too. He is amazing
befor the show he would go and sit way up the back and figure out how he could make the person sitting way up there feel special. Thats Garth!!
You expect that welcome to country keep listening and it will blow your mind
When the nosebleed seats can't come down to you......
This is why Garth got CMA's entertainer of the year award year after year after year.....
His live performances are always great, I'm certain you'd enjoy more of his stuff.
Garth performed here in Baton Rouge at The LSU stadium last year. The sound registered 4.9 on the earthquake scale
this one is from early to mid 90's.. he hasn't slowed down one damn bit since.. his live shows are not to be missed if the chance happens upon you to get to go to one.. don't hesitate one second, go go go!! :)
You MUST watch the a capella group "Home Free" doing a cover of this song. Thier beat boxer is out of this world doing the harmonica solo without a harmonica. Thier version is amazing. Would make Garth proud.
I saw him in 1991 and had nose bleed seats. They had a rope ladder in the middle of the stage. He did a cover of billy joel “you may be right,I may be crazy “. He climbed that rope ladder and was eye level, and singing the whole time!
Also, I was at a Kenny Chesney concert and he did basically the same thing with his opening number. You could hear him singing, but you didn’t see him until he flew in front of our faces.
That's why he's the best. He honestly gives 2,750%
I watched this broadcast on NBC as a kid in the 90s it was an amazing concert!! Garth was my first "favorite" in the world of music. Back in those days we used to record TV broadcasts on VHS tapes to watch them again!
Garth Brooks is THE BEST live concert I've ever seen! I've been to two of his live shows and the man puts on a SHOW!!!
There is a reason why Garth Brooks won the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Award 7 times.
That's the old Dallas Cowboys stadium. The rigging is still there. He didn't agree to it, it was HIS idea.
He also made it rain during the Thunder Rolls song.
I was at his opening night in Texas back in 2014. He had a treadmill running the length of the stage. He'd run from one end to the other, then belt out a line as the conveyor belt shot him across, then he'd do it again. BTW, it was a BIG ASS stage.
Some where in that crowed was a teenage me. His energy was threw the roof.
He actually walked away from touring to raise his kids with his ex. When the last one turned 18, he started up again. Love so many of his songs!
Have you ever listened to Hayley Reinhart?
Fun fact: all of Garths tickets are the same price. It doesnt matter if it's the first row or the last row. He said that money shouldn't make the difference of where someone gets to sit. Unfortunately some people buy them at his price then resell them at crazy prices.
Guys you have stumbled upon one of the greatest to ever do it, you guys got a laundry list of hits to react to. This guy has more albums sold than the Beatles and 7 time entertainer of the year. Please react to some more Garth please
He's also the artist with the most albums that have sold more than 10M units.
I am a Garth fan but he has not sold more albums than The Beatles though.
I remember wanting to go to this concert at the old Texas Stadium where the Cowboys used to play.... if I remember correctly he played 3 nights there.... I really wanted to go!!
He is the only artist who emptied the streets of New York city for a Central Park concert.
Garth crowd surfed in Ireland/Croke Park, during his song "The River"
He is one of the best performers ever
I saw him live and something like this 25 plus years go
You are completely right. Garth does the aerial work because he wants EVERYONE at the concert to get a good view, not just fans in the expensive seats. He took a very long break to raise his daughters.
Also, this man had his tour bus stop to help a single mother whose car broke down. Took her into town and bought her a new car.
Garth is basically country KISS.
BTW, he actually trained with a trapeze performer for that whole "stunt".
I went to one of these shows at Texas Stadium. I was only 11 or 12…It was EPIC!!
The best part is in these earlier years he didn’t charge much for tickets. I saw him in the mid 90s at the Rosemont Horizon near Chicago and tickets were only $18,50 each because he new his fans couldn’t afford high priced tickets
Yeah, you should really see him in concert. It will blow you away. It doesn’t hurt that he is multi talented. Next, The Dance is a must, Friends in low Places, The Thunder Rolls, Unanswered Prayers. Just a few to get started because he’s a rabbit hole, a very large one of great music. His concerts are super bowl events!
The best part about garth music is many of his song go from 0 to 1000 in 1 second but he also has some very powerful meaningful songs like the dance .
In fact there's a song that this song reminds me of and that's Joe diffie third rock from the sun 🌞.
If you get a chance look that song up .
Good job on the video and have a great day.
the harmonica player was a guest on here his name is Terry McMillan, he plays with lots of singers check him out
I saw him on this tour. It was incredible!!!!
Saw him on Nov. 2019 and every ticket was only $75 with taxes. He did this for every venue.
Garth performs to this day, he fun to watch and music is awesome
His concerts are the BEST!
Garth Brooks is a LEGEND.
i had the pleasure of being at a fair he was at back in the day. this man is a legend, he was a complete mad man that used every inch of a venue in his act. people today hear his music maybe they know who he is , maybe not, but if you ever saw him , its an experience youd never forget. he truly loved his fans
He did a concert in NYC in Central Park and had almost a million people at the concert.
This is a typical Garth Brooks concert, you should check out his Live from Central Park NYC it was televised live he latterly filled Central Park. I think it was a 4 hour concert and the other singer he invited was so awesome. 😊😊
Garth always put on a great show.
One of the best showmen ever
BEAST MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that's only a piece of his show. In the same concert watch Standing Outside The Fire and The Thunder Rolls. He gave those people their money's worth. In the concert I went to, he had just made a video for a song of his called The Red Strokes. The video starts in a white room, the floor, walls, ceiling, everything white. In the middle of the room on the floor there is a big puddle of red paint. Then the song starts playing with a piano solo. From the red puddle up comes Garth in a white tux with a white hat and playing a white piano, and he doesn't have a speck of red on him or the piano. Fast-forward to 1998 to his concert at LSU and for his first song, I can't remember what it was but it wasn't The Red Strokes, the music starts and he starts singing. The crowd is cheering when, from the middle of the stage you see a white hat, a white tux jacket and Garth, or who you think is Garth, playing the piano and singing. After a couple lines of the song the top of the piano opens up and the actual Garth Brooks rises out of the piano singing the song. The crowd went nuts, and I was one of them screaming my head off. I had a sore throat for 2 days but it was worth it.
That actually was the red strokes. The concert I went to that was the opening song.
That was actually 1994 and it was a sequel to this is Garth Brooks they both aired on nbc back in the day and the cool thing about him is no matter where you sit at his shows you pay the same price as those in the front row
Country is wide open with different sounds. It isn't all about, my dog died, beer, dear, guns, big momma singing base and daddy twists while singing tenor! YEEEAH! I have been binge watching the two of you and laughed right along. THANKS! Would like to see you do Brodnax - "Been a Monster" Put a little Mr. Miyagi in youz lives!
Now where did I put my keys to my ole pickup truck? Got fence to mend on the back 200 acers.
My Favorite Country Male Artist Ever
