Thanks for the vid, had the 1st gen mt10 sp thinking seriously about the mt09 sp looks polarizing??
Ah man, what a bike! I thought about an MT10 at one point, but thought about it and realized I would lose my license even faster than on my 09. It does look nice in the setting they had it in this launch. However, personally, I think they kind of killed it here with the super ant face and double mt07 looking seat!
But that's my own opinion. Either way I think getting an 09 would be a solid trade for the 10 as it's so light and fun to rag around!
Shame they didn’t invite potential buyers
Most people were potential buyers who already owned MT09's or showed interest. 2 of those bikes were sold to 2 people at the event. Nz is a relatively small place, so getting a few people like this together for a bike launch is pretty tough out here 😎
Visited Cyclespot Auckland at least 4 times, making enquiries about the 2024 MT09 range, test rode a 2020 MT09SP. Took my name and contact details.
Waited months for details of the NZ release whilst the 2024 model was sold, tested and reviewed through Europe, the USA and Australia. News of the 2025 model was released.
Absolutely nothing released by Yamaha NZ. Then the Auckland product launch.
Maybe the word isn’t getting through or l’m just not that important
Other marques (Vespa) are happy to invite prospective buyers and many others to product launches.
Yamaha live in a different world ….
I'll agree, Yamaha NZ are on their own wavelength sometimes. I ddi a video of how they messed me around with my MT09 when it started to play up. Either way though, I hope you do get an MT09, as the platform itself is amazing!

That's the norm here in New Zealand... in some ways, it's still stuck in 1978
