Definitely my favorite guest so far! I love Dan's enthusiasm. I don't go to theme parks often and I'm not very into rides, but I love this podcast for the passion Byron and Ryan have for the topic.
The immediate moment Byron threw his headphones off because Ryan started screaming was the moment I knew Ryan was going to be completely unhinged for this epsiode and I was absolutely correct.
This... might be my favorite ep of FYA so far🤣 Disney Dan was f**kin something else😂 More Disney Dan with you guys pleaze, lol! And yes... I'm subbed to him!
DISNEY SING ALONG really influenced my love for Disneyland growing up! That entire episode including the haunted mansion portion really properly embodied the energy for the time
Fantasmic and Disney Dan are a match made in heaven for this episode. Fantasmic is one of my favorite theme park things ever. I cry the second I hear the intro music. By the time Mickey says, “some imagination, huh?”, I’m a mess. It’s just nostalgic vibes all the way for me and always reminds me of family trips where we made it a tradition to watch the show at least once each trip.
This gives off the energy of someone introducing their college best friend to their high school best friend and not knowing how to react to how different the two of you are now while your college best friend just sits there like 😐 I love it
I love it when Dan mentions about how everyone was talking about famiy`s dynamics, because after going to Fantasmic very often with my parents as a child, last time I went there as a 20 something year old with my dad and heading to our car in the while there were so many happy families holding hands, happily digesting their day at the park and the spectacle they had just witnessed, I just felt so nostalgic and in awe I started legit crying in joy that I got to experience that again with my father. Idk I just saw me and my dad in the kids riding on their fathers shoulders with mickey ears, makes me very emotional to this day
I LOVE that you did Fantasmic in the kiddie pool. I think I did the Ariel leap out of the water with the ocean spray behind her about a million times on the side of the pool.
The way seeing those trees from the Singalong Songs Disneyland Fun vhs INSTANTANEOUSLY took me back to being a child and watching that tape until it broke. Like wait… is this why I’m like this?? 😂
No knock on Dan 😂 but I definitely had to watch this one in separate segments. Energy level was so high it reminded me of my kids and usually I listen to the podcast to chill 😅 I'll be better prepped next time! Love all the guests and would love to see some repeated guests OR see you guys go to the parks together!
I remember the only time I ever had to work guest control for Fantasmic the dragon was down, two boys didn’t work, and a firework landed on a guest’s shirt. I am a little bummed I wasn’t there the night of the great dragon roast though. I was working mostly in the Haunted Mansion/Pirates shop at the time and would have had a fantastic view.
@43:40 my little brother was obsessed with this sing along. We would play it when he was crying to get him to shut up. This part always freaked us out. We wouldn't even ride the haunted mansion almost exclusively because of this part of the show.
I do not consider myself to be a huge Disney head, but I have such deep love in my heart for (the original) Fantasmic. I used to listen to the soundtrack on CD so much, even though I maybe only saw it twice in my life. This is a fantastic ep guys! World Class.
Ryan, thank you so much for advocating for how much more harmonious Fantasmic 1.0 was between segments! My family and I are die-hard Fantasmic fans and were there for the premiere of 2.0 and were...heartbroken LOL We'll still catch second shows if time permits and there's some empty tables next to Golden Horseshoe but I miss 1.0 sooo much. Also I hate that I can't find proof of this, but I know on the premiere of 2.0, during the genie segment they showed projections of the princesses as harem dancers and it was like immediately taken out (along with what a LOT of Elizabeth's screaming during the Pirates scene). So jarring and just really stomped all over the integrity of the show imo LMAOO
Omg the Disneyworld version has always had original Disney channels music playing, the cast members are hyping the crowd up and dancing. I’d say that’s a three in my book😂😂
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT abt the premier of the last Twilight movie. I would do that again in a heartbeat, it was the MOST fun ive ever had in a movie theater.
I saw one of the last showings before Murphy took the stage for her last time! Wild and so glad I got to see it because it’s literally my favorite show at any Disney park
1:43:34 I will add to the smartphone test that you can make it a winding down thing! I usually arrive to the designated waiting area at least 40 min befores to get a good seat; then as we get closer in time get someone on line while someone else from the group goes and gets hot cocoa and a cookies for everyone so by the time you are seated waiting for it to start you can be drinking your hot cocoa, eat your cookie rest from the day and just enjoy the scenery of being at Disney. Best part of any Disney day for me, waiting with my hot cocoa for Fantasmic to start
I love change, but my wife and I can’t watch Fantasmic anymore after they removed the Elephants on Parade and made other changes that we think are far inferior to the original numbers. (We did like Murphy, compared to the original puppeteer dragon) Another major change that was a mistake, IMO, is brining in Sorcerer Mickey to defeat the dragon instead of waiting for the finale for his big reveal. It was so much cooler to see THE Mickey appear at the peak of the stage to finish off the show.
I cant wait to hear Dan and the guys experience. I was such a Fantasmic nerd that I had the CD they sell on the magic corner, my first ever purchase on Disneyland this show. I usually put it and mimic the Mickey waves directing the music
Im sure they didnt impact each other but House of Mouse aired before this show premiered. a good example of them bringing all the characters and villains together. though the villains arent being "bad" per se
Couldn’t have asked for a better guest to cover THE fantasmic. I’ve been waiting for you guys to cover this forever and with Dan’s inclusion I’m even more stoked!
Since world is more so our home park, I had no idea that when we just visited disneyland last month that we got the 'superior' version with peter pan versus the pirates. I agree I literally said out loud "oh what!" when the ship came out of literal nowhere. With hollywood studios you can kinda see the barges lining up and coming over. Totally caught me by surprise and loved it. We did get the down version of the dragon scene with malifacent rising and the dragon being on the water which I was sorta sad about but totally understandable why they dont have a new dragon yet. I will say that the moana and frozen scenes hit hard for me in a pure disney way but I can also understand why someone wouldnt like
I didn’t know who Disney Dan was until this episode and a few minutes in and I’m sad that I’ve been deprived for this long. I so distinctly remember watching Fantasmic for the first time (tbf I’ve only seen it twice) it was 2011 my first and only time to Disneyland back when I was 17 and I was with my parents. We had just done Haunted Mansion and I remember buying this Tinkerbell pullover because it was starting to get chilly. We wanted to watch the fireworks but bumped into this lovely family that gave us the inside scoop on Fantasmic so we waited for that instead. It was so fun. I watched it in Hollywood Studies last year and it was just as great but I do prefer the set up in Disneyland. I’ll be heading to Tokyo Disneyland in a few weeks so will have to make time for it again.
PLEASE do an episode about Poseidon’s Fury from Islands of Adventure!! That show never got the love it deserved, and I am so sad that it’s gone and will probably be replaced by some other screen based attraction. I feel like it deserves a eulogy on this podcast!
It occurred to me with the Hollywood test that a film version of Fantasmic would have been a WAY better 100th anniversary movie than Wish. It feels like such a no-brainer in hindsight
"By the way, it's Rivers..." He's still got one up on Art Linkletter from the Opening Day broadcast by remembering where the river(s) is/are. "...down the Rivers of the World...of America, that is!"
The Disney villains teamed up in Kingdom Hearts too! Pls tell me Ryan has played it before, some absolutely hilarious Mickey moments are in that series.
I was there when the dragon caught on fire. All of us were laughing at first and then it turned into chaos. Super scary experience and we got stuck on the bridge that goes over Pirates and trampling was happening. I absolutely love Fantasmic but that memory will always stick with me.
I grew up in LA and I’m old enough to remember the commercials advertising the debut of a new show. And in the commercial they Showed. The. Dragon! So when I saw the show for the first time and saw that head on a stick dragon o was so sad. If you find articles from the time, you can find reporters who saw previews talking about the first version of Murphy which ultimately had to be replaced with the cheery picker before the official debut :-/
I was hoping Disney Dan would be on the pod one day! One of my favorite Disney dudes! Also of course he comes dressed in his Mickey Mouse church ropes 😂😂😂
RAHHH DISNEYLAND FUN MENTIONED👹🗣👹❤️🗣 a big part of my childhood was watching the sing-along songs VHSs but yeah that grim grinning ghosts scene gave me the heebie jeebies😭
May you all be blessed by the sparkles of Fantasmic Mickey’s fingers.
Amen...gination
The same that killed Murphy? 😂 I'm good
I only just found DistoryDan and I’m now a forever fan
this one is so funny its just ryan and byron being overstimulated by disney dan for 2 hours straight
Yeah... was too much for me
Reminded that the speakers in my car shake when something I’m listening to is too loud 😂
This is legit my favorite niche podcast on all of youtube.
Definitely my favorite guest so far! I love Dan's enthusiasm.
I don't go to theme parks often and I'm not very into rides, but I love this podcast for the passion Byron and Ryan have for the topic.
Dan just ups the energy of anything he’s in. His enthusiasm over whatever he’s taking about is so fun to watch.
Never heard of Disney Dan until today, but I was immediately a fan of the vibes
Oh boy, do you have a library of videos you get to now enjoy.
SAME
“It’s kickass without the kick” I’m stealing that line
The immediate moment Byron threw his headphones off because Ryan started screaming was the moment I knew Ryan was going to be completely unhinged for this epsiode and I was absolutely correct.
This... might be my favorite ep of FYA so far🤣 Disney Dan was f**kin something else😂 More Disney Dan with you guys pleaze, lol! And yes... I'm subbed to him!

Dan is insane in the best way, the man is just enthusiasm in human form
Disney Dan is so fucking entertaining thanks for introducing me to this amazing person
This gives off the energy of someone introducing their college best friend to their high school best friend and not knowing how to react to how different the two of you are now while your college best friend just sits there like 😐
I love it
Disney Dan: the fantasmic keynote speaker 🫶
I love it when Dan mentions about how everyone was talking about famiy`s dynamics, because after going to Fantasmic very often with my parents as a child, last time I went there as a 20 something year old with my dad and heading to our car in the while there were so many happy families holding hands, happily digesting their day at the park and the spectacle they had just witnessed, I just felt so nostalgic and in awe I started legit crying in joy that I got to experience that again with my father. Disney Dan's laugh will never fail to put a smile on my face!
I LOVE that you did Fantasmic in the kiddie pool. I think I did the Ariel leap out of the water with the ocean spray behind her about a million times on the side of the pool.
Can we please get Byron's mom to be the special guest for an episode?
the podcasts are back! life has color and sunshine and joy in it again!
Mechanophobia: fear of large machinery, Megalophobia: fear of large objects...
Homophobia: the fear of homogenous mixtures
The way seeing those trees from the Singalong Songs Disneyland Fun vhs INSTANTANEOUSLY took me back to being a child and watching that tape until it broke. Like wait… is this why I’m like this?? 😂
My sister and I loved that movie!!!
I literally gasped this morning when I remembered it was Tuesday and a new episode of FYA was out 😁
DISNEYLAND FUN MENTIONED... WATCHED THAT PROBABLY MORE THAN ANY VIDEO DURING MY CHILDHOOD 😂
“Dans gunna take a chill pill” whew the subtle shade 😂
Look forward to these podcasts every week, 2 hours was a treat! Thank guys!
It's finals week and this TWO HOUR episode is saving my sanity
No knock on Dan 😂 but I definitely had to watch this one in separate segments. Energy level was so high it reminded me of my kids and usually I listen to the podcast to chill 😅 I'll be better prepped next time! Love all the guests and would love to see some repeated guests OR see you guys go to the parks together!
Currently watching it in segments as well. I love Dan, but I get sensory overload very easily
Fantasmic?! Disney Dan?! It’s gonna be a good Tuesday… 🤩
2:00:00 Dan released his most powerful laugh to conclude the podcast and even Byron could not resist it.
Dammit i skipped ahead and it got me too😂
Disney Dan and his raucous laugh always make my day! Awesome episode!!
Thank you Ryan for still posting entertainment on RUclips for us ❤
My favorite part is bringing up Disneyland Fun. That was my entire childhood and I still watch it on Disney Dans channel.
MISSED YOU GUYS!!! 😭
Saved this up all week for a little treat after I finished a big project - it did not disappoint. Thanks guys!
Does anyone else smell a season regular guest?
Dan always brings such a joy and energy to every video he's in. I loved this one 😊 helped make my work day better
So glad to see Disney Dan
This is the greatest podcast I've ever randomly come across, listener FOR LIFE
These boys didn’t play Kingdom Hearts and it shows when they mention the villains team up 😂
@43:40 my little brother was obsessed with this sing along. We would play it when he was crying to get him to shut up. This part always freaked us out. We wouldn't even ride the haunted mansion almost exclusively because of this part of the show.

Dude I used to watch Disneyland Fun on VHS religiously as a kid. That scene at the haunted mansion used to scare the heck out of me.

I won't be able to sit thru this one guys. Imma head out
Omg the Disneyworld version has always had original Disney channels music playing, the cast members are hyping the crowd up and dancing. I’d say that’s a three in my book😂😂
That was probably the most fun episode of FYA ever lol lots of energy lol
We need an episode of Top 5 Beatdown with Disney Dan.
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT abt the premier of the last Twilight movie. I would do that again in a heartbeat, it was the MOST fun ive ever had in a movie theater.
This was amazing! I love how chaotic it was! ❤ need more episodes with Dan 😂
I love this pod so hard! Dan, Dallin, Defunctland, Jenny, Mandy, Craig, Mike from the party -PURE GOLD!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I saw one of the last showings before Murphy took the stage for her last time! Wild and so glad I got to see it because it’s literally my favorite show at any Disney park

If you saw Into the Woods at the Ahmanson, that was the Broadway revival. Not Community Theatre. It was directed in a minimalist style.
Everything about this episode was perfect. I needed this today!
10/10
This is the happiest any FYA pod has made me
And we are back! Wazoo!!!
I got a 14 hour drive tomorrow you best believe im listening to this and then rewatching the one with Soarin and Epic Universe
PLEASE do an episode about Poseidon’s Fury from Islands of Adventure!! That show never got the love it deserved, and I am so sad that it’s gone and will probably be replaced by some other screen based attraction. I feel like it deserves a eulogy on this podcast!

Two hours is goated
I laughed out loud when Ryan said, "ALL your cracks?"
Okay Byron, I see you with the curled baby hairs, mans is lookin STYLED
The Dragon is returning next holiday season at the earliest
The Disney villains teamed up in Kingdom Hearts too! Pls tell me Ryan has played it before, some absolutely hilarious Mickey moments are in that series.
We used to watch that 90s video of Disneyland songs all the time!!
i love disney dan, dan the disney man, im a fan of the man with the disney plan.
I was there when the dragon caught on fire. All of us were laughing at first and then it turned into chaos. Super scary experience and we got stuck on the bridge that goes over Pirates and trampling was happening. I absolutely love Fantasmic but that memory will always stick with me.
DISNEY DAN!!!! I was so hoping he’d make it to the pod. One of my very favorite RUclips channels. 💕
The time lapse is really cool
Love the energy for this one!
Hopefully, when you guys do radiator spring racers, you bring that Gentleman that has ridden it 14,000+ times. He's a legend.
They already did radiator spring racers :)
DISNEY DAN! The man with the best laugh on You Tube
TWO HOURS LONG!? Thank you so much 🥹🫶🏻
this was just incredible
This is my favorite show!!!!! Can’t wait to listen🥰
Finally, Disney Dan!
I grew up in LA and I’m old enough to remember the commercials advertising the debut of a new show. And in the commercial they Showed. The. Dragon! So when I saw the show for the first time and saw that head on a stick dragon o was so sad.

The Fantasmic in Studios will always be superior because of the stadium seating and the bagging of the fish
Such a great episode!
I immediately remembered that Haunted Mansion Maleficent sing along lol. I probably haven't thought about that in decades.
I'm 2 and a half minutes in and I already love Disney Dan. Also I'm going to Tokyo Disney next month!
I NEED to know what Ryan thinks about the new version of the show!!
We are back babyyyy
I was hoping Disney Dan would be on the pod one day! One of my favorite Disney dudes! Also of course he comes dressed in his Mickey Mouse church ropes 😂😂😂
The old show was willing to pull strange things disney kind of wanted to forget like pink elephants. It was actually pretty provocative at the time.
Loving this podcast and glad it came back, plus Fantasmic is such a great show that encompasses Disney 😀
RAHHH DISNEYLAND FUN MENTIONED👹🗣👹❤️🗣 a big part of my childhood was watching the sing-along songs VHSs but yeah that grim grinning ghosts scene gave me the heebie jeebies😭
We’re so back
I need someone to put the Fantasmic Mickey noises over Mario's "WAHOO"s in Mario 64.
